the amg sound is great, but this is just another toy like the tesla however more luxurious. i love the big v8's but for a gran tourer, the electric drive is great. smooth, easy to drive while still being enclosed in a beautiful car that provides instant thrill with the easiest touch of the pedal.

if you want noise, go with a different amg. save yourself some money and get the same performance. the sls is a showcase for what the company can do. without mclaren...

This car is the answer to a problem we don't have. According to the American Petroleum Industry we have 100+ years of gasoline supply with more being discovered everyday. Gasoline is still the cheapest source of energy to power cars. Besides this car doesn't give me the engine sound I want. I'll take a lotus or a corvette anyday.

Well as a proud owner of a Tesla roadster and being sick with Tesla's mishandling of the actual assembly (they rely on Lotus for assembling cars for weeping out loud i am glad to have seen the demo of the SLS e-cell and hope it will come someday to market) Of course there are little to no known figures about the SLS E-cell but i dare hope they would come out soon. As for the engineering of the Tesla it sure is great but i would expect AMG to beat that silly (more care to details and culture).

Mercedes wasn't very smart about this.Ok this is how you build an electric sports car. no gears, connect the motors to the wheels via flexible coupling(carbon fiber probably) this way you dont really have a limit on the top speed. the motor will go the exact same speed as the wheel. some electric motors spin at 36,000 rpm's thats not even if you over drive them. also batteries are awful. to heavy and not efficient. Use banks for super capacitors. they charge faster and lighter. not toxins. CLEAN

SOLUTION they'll be putting exterior speakers in electric cars because they're to quiet and they've had complaints from the visually impaired not obviously being able to hear them. So with the speakers you can customize your exhaust note to whatever you want. happy?
