Hate to say it, but her voice is dead. Great career, but she's killed her voice with all the high notes and stuff earlier in her career. As you can see, this song was mainly in a lower register with the exception of the ending, and that you would have to believe was done because of her vocal limitations.

I can tell what is it...

mariah is singing 2 lines, high and normal, but since we have one and only mariah - she cannot sing both lines ! so, she is singing high line... remeber performance of "I only wanted" ? there instead of mariah her High part was performed by back vocalists, and it sounded not so nice... so, try to listen carefull studio version - u will see that there are 2 voices, and mariah is singing on of them in live performance.
