the green screen comes with the software. the effect is called chroma-keying. It allows you to have a foreground and background video playing at the same time. you select a color in the foreground video to make transparent - green is a good selection because there isn't much green in flesh (just don't wear green or play green instruments). I have three layers of video, so I needed to save the first two layers as a compressed video and do it again to get the third layer.

I used to have a set of congas on my kit. It was a hassle to have to drop a stick to play them. They were big and bulky, and I rarely used them. Even though the roland samples are cheezy and fake, it was all that I could afford. The plan is to get some mandala 2.0 pads and use Battery (like Danny Carey) to get bettery samples. The purpose of the hybrid electric/acoustic kit is to provide the essential feel and sound of an acoustic kit with unlimited access to percussion.

Pinnacle Studio 11 or 12. You can use this software to clone multiple clips. Youtube has so many video tutorial on how to clone videos using Pinnacle. Good luck!

digitech gnx4 clean tube amp emulation, a li'l delay and reverb, detuner set at %10. the distortion is a matchless simulation with a tube screamer. I think the biggest proponent to the tone is the pickups: a humbucker and a single coil near the neck.

From 0:22-0:40 Dave has selected a set of percussion voices on his Roland GR33 guitar synth that includes bongos and congas. It is most noticable at 0:29 when he taps out an ascending then descending rhythm on what would have to be multiple bongos but is clearly played way up on the neck of his guitar. At the 0:40 mark he switches the synth to a lead guitar voice to play the main theme.
