this is such a dilettante's point of view! look away from the screen, scroll down to the comments or something and just LISTEN! it's all there. his sound quality and the way he plays are really nice for a boy this young!

it's wrong to believe that one has to rock back and forth ALL the time to show emotional involvement with the piece!

the emotions are in the MUSIC that comes out, not in the musician's expression!

Thanks for your comments. Santiago´s cello is by a polish luthier, his name is Jan Pawlikowsky, he made it in 2005.

What a gift. Of course the left hand is brilliant but his bow arm is full of colors and possibilities as well. He has lots of growing to do and lots of time to do that. This is a very exciting start. It's amazing how easy it looks for him. His face is so relaxed. Is he playing the cello or watching TV? I wouldn't be able to tell by his face. And he never looks at his bow or his fingers! 95% of cellist would be staring at his/her fingers during the high stuff, yet he's spot on. His spiccatto is gerat too!!

I don't know, this is original for cello & piano, but you can get a good musician for transcrip the piano part for orchestra, I don't know is somebody has an orchestra part.

Yes, he play this with freedom and he is 12 years old in the video (this was last year in november 2007), now he is 13 years old.
