No kidding...I did some grass riding last summer thinking that it wouldn't hurt anything but sure enough when winter rolled around I was hearing a bunch of weird noises from my track, took it in and they ended up having to replace several bearings, two idler wheels as well as a rock that got stuck up in my drive sprocket assembly...man that was a nightmare, $580...if you want to ride during the summer, asphalt riding is what you need to do.
yeah man cats pulling ahead i ride a new doo but i heard they got a stock from factory turbo m8 coming out and thier 1100 z1 turbo can be CHIPPED for 400 bucks to make 270hp from factory
Very very sad. Nice attempt tho, Apex boosted will not be touched for sum time. only thing ive seen that can compete is M1000 Turbo'd And its a ticking bomb. Notice how this bumble bee only turns 8000rpm... apex turns 11000. And run's 300+ hp on Pump gas. And if you cry about pound's I say buy a bowflex nerd. See you bombaqueer's next century.
that funny i was just watching a vid on a new 1200r turbo and it was pushing 270 hp on pump gas and it's only a three lunger it seem to me that doo is doing with three what it take yamajunk to do with four what do you think about that asshole
I think your forgetting about the Nytro which is the same weight as the 1200 doo also the nytro can run over 300hp on pump as well and i know a guy running over 400hp on pump in a apex. Finally doo has something to compete is the main thing and to be honest i like the look of this 1200.
your fulll of shit cause i am really good friends with the OWNER of the local yamaha and he has a twin turbo set up running on propane and a single turbo nytro running on pump and the most the nytro can do its 240hp on pump and the apex might get away with 260-280 on pump after that theres just not enough combustion so get your shit straight
giantfaith2 if you ever afford to have a boosted yamaha you will find out it depends on the engine compression on how much boost you can run on pump gas also with meth you can run over 400hp on pump gas and if you don't believe me just call any dealer that sells turbos or superchargers.
hey giantfaith2..twin turbo eh? wtf are you talking about.. the nytro turbo part is true..but the apex does make 400 on the pump.. mcx turbo..call prince george yamaha in BC..thats all they do out there..and yamiboost youre right with everything you said
not necessarily. To get full use out of the turbo you have to maintain a high RPM so when that sharp corner comes up and you have to let off the gas you lose all that extra power.
@JredLapeair Hell no!! There's no "turbo-lag" nowadays! I have a Renegade 1200 with McX turbo (tuned to about 270 hp) and i have full boost as soon as the flipper hits the handlebars (13 psi at 4600-4800 RPM)
@kethrildur nice dude and sick sled!, i was always a doo guys and i think the 1200's soound so good with the right exhaust but the extra money u gotta invest in em was to much for me, so i went with the z1 turbo. i wanted to get away from the 2 strokes
HOLY SHIT I want one of those have a 800 thats been punched to 879cc (tossed a ring) that turbo has amazing spool, i can hear it not to mention the sled sounds fucking amazing!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
looks like its got along way to go to catch up with the yammies!well maybe skidoo can copy the technology of the yamaha and have a decent sled in three years ha ha ha
For the longest time it was...four strokes suck...to heavy...2 stroke for life..blah blah blah, and now that ski-poo has a 4stroke, your all about it... WTF...make up your fuckin minds.
who the fuck is allabout the bomby 4 stroke..they only added it to their product line for the point and shoot riders...although it is as light as the old rev so why the hell would anyone even consider a yammy 4 stroke if in the "market" *shudders* for a 4 stroke....but its still a tank when compared to an xp...and articcat456 thats a turboed 4 stroke cat has dont be braging so fast its a different class sled, think that thing wont rock that class with a turbo too? like comparing an 800 to a 600
Not so much on this page but on other pages regarding this sled people leave ignorant comments about ski-doo burrying Yamaha, and stepping further into the # 1 spot, but first of all there not going to ever be in the number one spot (in my opinion) until they address their reliability issues.
If I spend 10 or 12 grand on a sled it better last longer than 10 or 12 thousand kilometers. No nessicary rebuilds either.....they are a pain in the ass and very costley.
It's not being cheap, it's just getting your best value, and when your spending that kind of money you want to make sure it's a cost effective purchase.
Yamaha has always has and always will deliver a superior product. PERIOD!!!
pull the turbo out and all you have is a 123hp Tank. Thorugh a turbo and a Yamaha Nytro or apex and you looking a 200+ and some cases 300+ Horsepower!
Thats really funny the skidoos i've seen can't hold together when there stock i can't imagine boosted. maybe i'm just warey because i seen all the trouble they had with the new xp last year but hopefully they have the bugs worked out this year i like the look of the new 1200. When i buy a sled i look for reliability skidoo have the weight down path but unless they make a few changes it will only benefit the guy towing it home.
you must live in never never land because every new model has it's problems and if you tell me that yanaha didn't have trouble with any of there new models then your full of shit i've ben riding for 30+ years and i've had one bad ski-doo and i got it used that should tell you something . i think that the new 1200 ski-doo is going to make a lot of other brand eat there comments. machz forever.
Your a funny guy a skidoo with boost is like a bomb with a very short fuse or at least they use to be hopefully the new 1200 proves out. I like the new xp chassis but everyone knows yamaha has the most reliable motor on boost but i don't expect to change your mind some guys stick with the one brand no matter what. I go for whatever is most reliable and boy i made some bad choices but i thing i found the one this time.
Oh and where i'm from snowmobiling is not only a sport we use them the same as you use your car every day to go everywhere and everyone has them so don't try to outsmart me you should just take my advise.
Stock systems are always lower on power than aftermarket system, cat doesn't want to crank its motor to the edge and have motors blowing left and right when their sleds hit the snow.
