Do not buy this junk the bike is full of problems and the yamaha does not even listenin to the post-sale bought a mess of a 2011 was to open the engine twice now replaced the rod scraped the entire frame of the bike left the stuck valves marring the paint leakage and PROCON does nothing it seems there is an agreement with companies large porte.Faz 3 months I do not sleep right buy Honda and quiet sleep or keep me company in line at the PROCON we have much in common
@bronxmicheletti What the hell are you talking about? I mean literally...what are you trying to say? You entire post is one sentence &, regardless of where I put commas & periods, it still makes no sense at all. Are you trying to sell me porn? Because you type like a spammer.
@samburger077 I'm sorry my comment is on a bike to yamaha ys 250 manufactured in Brazil and that this gives many problems and I am warning that the yamaha here in Brazil does not have regard to the consumer and PROCON is a thirst for consumer protection
@lolo4sho2 definately an excellent first bike it has enough power in the lower rev band for normal driving and when you rev to 10000 and above hang on. This is my first bike and I'm a big guy and never thought this bike was underpowered. It drives very well easy to manuver.
scorpions, power commander, +1 front sprocket and this bike will keep up with the rest. Up against the average sports bike rider(600cc's), the FZ will make them think twice about how they view the fz.
Its a shame how little hype this bike has - in the right hands, this thing is solid gold.
just picked up an 06, great bike. notice the single running headlight on the standard? yammie actually gives you both headlamps with bulbs that have both hi & lo filaments. pickup a dual-lo beam wiring kit online and you can run both lo-beams. double the visiblity during the day and night, and just looks better. kit's cheap, go get one!
Picking mine up on 3rd june 09 - cant wait !!! a little worried about the electro sounding exhaust but nothing a new exhaust wont sort out at a later date! Fantastic bike for getting to and from work and then as a toy at the weekend!
With the upright ergos and relatively (for a sportbike) high pegs it's supposed to be a very competent sport tourer. I've never ridden one though, it's just my current dream bike.
@RazedByWolvs You might not have a life once you get onto Mexico. Unless you're a native, you could easily get held up or shot, your bike stolen or you kidnapped.
I've heard of Federales sticking up gringos.
Myself, I stay out of there.
If you're asking about long trips on the bike: I'm 62 and have gone riding for several hours at a time. My shoulders and lower back get a little sore. Not much vibration, though, so my wrists are OK, compared to other bikes I've had.
No man i am still decideing in case of beauty i love triumph but considering the price from my country (MALTA)its better yamaha ,its not for racing its for weekands + i am going to italy with my friends with the bikes (overland)i have a honda cb1 but i wish upgrading for another 1.
Hi all can you please give me some tips ??? i am considering to buy a 600 - 2008 model naked bike ( triumph street ,yamaha Fz6 ,Honda hornet ,kawasaki er6n , what should i choose please and why ??? many thanks !!!!
this is the perfect bike to start out on for street,"its an R6 without the body or power, it has the same engine, just not tuned like it" that is a direct quote from a Yamaha shop owner

@lolo4sho2 Good luck finding one; they stopped making them. They're coming out with an 800, I heard.
I have a 2008 which I got used. It's the newer version than the one in this video. Mainly looks cooler (I think) plus better swing arm.
It might be a bit big for a 1st bike, depending on your size & if you get some training. You won't outgrow it for a long time, if ever.
It's good for errands, commuting and even harder riding. Very flexible & smooth.

An under rated bike. Very little press on this bike also. Too much attention to super sport bikes and 1300cc cruisers.

There is only ever one answer to what should you choose and why: test ride the bikes and find the one that you like the most.

hi, i am in the same boat, what did you decide?
does a bigger gas tank help for daily use or is it just for racing/sports?

which one do you think is better? the fz6 or the ninja 500? i'm debating.
rokstareater 3 years ago
i've owned a fz6 before and i've driven a 500 ninja. ninja just doesnt compare honestly. and you cant beat the fz6 price.
