  • Anybody know the release date?

  • this board has ide ha asrock is old school

  • @MrComputereviews I know, that's why I don't like that motherboard.

  • @Nicolas11x12TECH I only by gigabyte and asus

  • @MrComputereviews I have an ASRock 4Core Dual-VSTA (My cousin uses it in a gaming build I made for him) and an ECS PM800-M2 (Use it to stream movies to all TVs in the house) that still work after 7 years. I also have an ASUS PHP800 that I use in my HTPC and it still works great after 9 years. However, I will NEVER recommend MSI. I had an MSI K9A2 Platinum (790FX Quad-Crossfire) and it failed THREE MONTHS after the warranty was up. Boy was I PISSED! I'd never had a mobo die that fast before.

  • @AvroBellow Thank you for telling us, will keep that in mind. :)

  • @AvroBellow one time i had a evga x58 and it caught fire no kidding my i7 950 was fried

  • @MrComputereviews Oh my god! So EVGA motherboards aren't the way to go, I guess. ;p

  • @Nicolas11x12TECH there ok but i had a i7 950 running 1.475 volts and i was stress testing it caught fire

  • @Nicolas11x12TECH What's wrong with having an IDE header on it?

    - It still has all the features of the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 plus the IDE header

    - IDE DVD-RW's are just as fast as SATA

    - I already have 2 IDE DVD-RW's so that's $40 towards my FX-8150 CPU

    - It leaves 2 extra SATA ports open

    - ASRock has great quality and great prices.

    - The ECS Black Series A990FXM-A also has an IDE header

    - That IDE header alone is the reason my bulldozer build will be based on ASRock or ECS

  • @AvroBellow ide cables are to wide and hard to hide

  • @MrComputereviews You're right.

  • @MrComputereviews Fair enough, they are hard to hide but I have a gigantic computer case (Ultra 40670). I have more room in that monster than I know what to do with. Also, 90% of my power cables are behind a panel so no matter what data cables I use, the build still looks clean. I can understand in a smaller case that an IDE cable would be annoying although I have seen some that go from flat to normal round wire to flat again at the connectors so that might be an idea.

  • @AvroBellow still ide is out of date

  • Nice board...video= crap

  • @FantastickDark2 Nice board...viewer= bad

  • sli on amd board, is that chipset or does it have lucid ?

  • @Shroffff It's not Lucid, it's the AMD 990FX Chipset which support full CrossFireX and SLI features. AMD bought the license for 990X and 990FX Chipsets.

  • @Nicolas11x12TECH SWEEET! still will always buy radeons but still i am sure loads of people will like that :)

  • @Shroffff i buy nvidia for the phsyx but radeon is ok

  • @MrComputereviews phsyx is old and not many games use it really,

  • @Shroffff metro 2033 uses it

  • @MrComputereviews is there a huge difference without it though ?
