  • Thanks for posting this! Haven't played the game in 12 years but I still find myself humming some of the tracks.

  • Hard to say what has a better soundtrack, DoWII or Chaos Gate? Both have good tracks, both fit the universe.

  • 40000 watch is done, for the glory of Guillimann and the God-Emperor.

  • I have played CG extensively and i can tell that the atmosphere of the game is WAY better than new games of the same kind. Everything is in the right place. This sountrack really explains what you experience in the game. Never found another W40K game so well placed.

  • @Baxolo i got introduced to WH40k universe with this game when i was 10 back in 1998 and i completely fell in love with the series. feels so lucky to get the full taste of enjoyment as a kid and got introduced to the series by its best =)))

  • Anyone know the latin translation for these :D

  • dude where did u get hold of the music, have been trying to extract the music file from the game for ages but cant seem to get it to work any tips?

  • fail at 3:12 that are the Crimson Fists not the ultra marines ;) + non of the Ultramarine follower chapters

Crimson Fists = following chapter of the Imperial Fists like the Black Templars

  • Hell yeah! I just scored Ultramarines. A 4k MOVIE!? I am in awe.

  • There were no Latin dictionary in medieval. For instance Christ, was written Christi, Xristi and so on. Other example, Czersk - polish province. There were over 10 versions of its name. Ofcourse there are plenty of similar exaples, so don't bother yourself about correctness of these words. What matters is that we understand them :P

  • Agitatis Ultramarini! Dominitis Ultramarini! Non praestatis Ultramarini! Nobilitis Ultramarini! Chaos Innumeratis! Chaos vobis apportatis! Rough translation (it's not proper Latin): Rise, Ultramarines! Conquer, Ultramarines! Don't give in, Ultramarines! Be noble, Ultramarines! Chaos beckons! Chaos is coming!
  • Penis fortress

    Penis fortress

It must be a Slaneeshi fortress then.

  • @amig90 jajajajjajajja

  • @amig90 it's "Iraes Fortes"..wich means wrath of the mighty..but your version is way cooler..^^

  • @57thdarkspear Thanks for letting me know. I have in interest in Latin.

  • SUPER MARINI...

no seriously i dont understand crap but i love it

  • I've actually installed the game for the tracklist...there are only 10 tracks right?

  • For the Emperor!

  • This one has alot of Unknown titles, what is the name of the song at 0:12, 4:42, and 6:49?

  • God DAMN it, this game just rules as far as soundtracks are concerned.

It really fits the 40k universe perfectly. Gothic, sombre, heroic, aggressive all at the same time.

No offence to DoW, great game with good music... But this is the kind of stuff they should have used for it. It is the very definition of what 40k should sound like. I can not imagine anything better.

That said, I never got to try Chaos Gate. Probarbly couldn't even run it on my rig. Due to the age of the game, I mean.

  • I'm currently playing it on Windows XP Professional, Final Liberation works also.

  • Cool stuff, Win. XP professional is what I've got also. Thank, I might give it a try sometime.

  • How did you do it? It runs with my version of XP, but crashes often. I'm trying to run it on a virtual machine, but that didn't work out well, doesn't support win98. So, you surely did some trick, didn't you?

  • @eoltheelf

I honestly just popped the CD in and it worked, although it did surprise me because the last time I tried to play it I had problems I think. Final Liberation I can't alt-tab out of it or it crashes.

  • You said it. The game is great too as i remember it. you should try it.

  • Yeah, it has compatibility problems in NT. But you can run it in WINE, I tried it!

  • @Sattantykje88 Well, the main marines theme of DoW II is also great...

  • Ultramarines chant is pretty awesome but I love that first one, holy shit.

  • Miles Fortes Ultramarines!

  • Thanks :D

  • is there a special name for the theme at 2:26 ? OMG is fucking awesome!!! "track*"

  • Ultramarine Chant is the name of that part.

  • I would LOVE to see a 40K movie come out in theatres someday! I could see it happening someday, judging by how successful 40K has been lately.

  • There is one right now. A 70 minute CGI film starring the Ultramarines, No specifics or details though; like a release date, who's GW commissioned to make it, stuff like that.

  • Not in theaters but they are making a Ultra Marine one that will be released on DVD :D

  • Must be about 10 years since I've played this game, and I still remember the Ultramarine chant at 2:26 I really liked this game.

  • That chant starts off with all the power and ferocity of a sledgehammer-blow to the crotch. I literally jumped off my chair at the first beat.

  • Yeah, it also makes great music to work out to, it gets you pumped!

  • If 40k became the next Halo ( with atleast an IQ of 50 unlike most fan boys) I'll be happy.

  • absolutely screams dark gothic

  • pretty much every warhammer game has the greatest soundtracks

  • One of the best game soundtracks I've ever seen ... also quite a good game ( even though I don't like Ultramarines )

  • I've always loved this soundtrack. Appropriate that I listen to this while I do my Latin homework.

I wish Warhammer 40,000 had more mainstream attention. So much lore, so deep, such epic heroes and vile villains... better than Star Wars, IMO.

  • Kinda sad that THE POSER Blizzard has more world-wide acclaim. Blizzard essentially based all their base material on GWs.

  • True. But still, Blizzard games do not have a fraction of the atmosphere or style that GW's properties do.

  • @coyoterunner cause both their trademarks, star and warcraft are both copies of fantasy wh and wh40k, heavily watered down copies.... safe and easy to digest, just the way masses like it.

  • Funny that Warcraft and ST were originally going to be based in the Warhammer universes and then GW pulled out. The GOOD people at Blizz admit that they got most of their inspiration from games like WH and DnD and don't pretend to be original

  • amazing soundtrack, love it~ ^o^

  • I was looking around and didn't find one. These are all chants. The Latin Gregorian chants are named by the chorus, which is repeated a few dozen times. The full chorus of that track is Rebus Mortis Felix Mortis, "By deeds of death is the fortune of death."

  • I've been looking as well, but never found any tracklist. But alright, thanks for the information, it's very much appreciated. I'll make a new version of the videos sometime, preferably with the tracknames. So if you feel like decyphering the other tracks sometime, then I'd be all ears :)

  • The name of the third song (unknown title) is Rebus Mortis, which is Latin for "By Deeds of Death"

  • er ehm the "4th" song, first one in this video

  • Is there a complete tracklist somewhere on the net?

  • I thought all the songs are in the folder of the game.
