  • Growing up my dad used to sing this very song to my two older brothers, our sister, and myself. Sadly my sister passed away at the age of 16, year of 1998, and then my dad year 2011. My sister was the only girl the youngest out of four siblings. Our dad was only 63 when he passed. We noticed him getting sick when his baby girl passed. This song brings back many memories growing up, and every time i play this song I can here him singing, and see my sister and I sitting and listening. Whim ever w

  • I've searched a very long time for this exact version, as my grandfather used to listen to it around the time of his death. I liked the song then but back then I didn't truly appreciate it as I do now. This is one of the best version if not the 'best'.... I seem to recall a verse being sung by a little girl hopefully I'll be able to find that version =)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I started singing this song along with my Mother when I was 5 years old. She would sit a t the Piano and I would Belt it out. Tears would roll down her cheeks as I sang without any hesitation. It wasn't till I was 8-9 that I realized my Dad had died when I was 4 during active duty with the Canadian Air Force in Korea. I still sing this song on special occasions with my Mother. Difference is we BOTH cry. thank you for posting this.
