You could do a whole series on architecture not done by architects -- it would be very well received Doug. Opening the door for inspiring people to create freely :)
Hello, Do you have a blog or twitter account. Do you make public lectures at universities? I enjoy your video's and was just curious to see if you had another social media site or connect.
Every video you make is so full of love and passion... thus I always put them in my favorites which is getting pointless because they're all there in the end :P
Baldasare Forestier (sp.?) built a network of underground tunnels and rooms in Fresno that are very creative. He was a contemporary of Rodia. There were actually a lot of excentric guys building odd structures in the early to mid 20th century.
On the other end of the spectrum, most buildings on earth today were not designed by "architects" but by builders & just ordinary folk. Many of those buildings are rather exceptional.
Talking about great non-architects, I would have first thought of Tadao Ando, who was a boxer and never went to architecture school, yet he managed to receive the Pritzker Prize...
Thanks Doug, I'm an architect student, and this motivates me very much
