Thanks for that. I acquired a taste for Guiness while over in Ireland Sept '10. I buy the cans now , expensive here though. I wondered how to pour it from the can and decided after a few experiments, that the way in this video is the best. Also dont like drinking it cold as is the way over here in Oz. It loses its flavour when too cold. I told the girl behind the bar not to pour my beer from the can the way she was and she said "no no no you dont do that".Good on tap here but often its too cold
@rafattu Correct, sir. I tried pouring Guinness into a non-Guinness glass and it cried. Never heard a beverage cry before. Made me sad. I drank it quickly to put it out of it's misery.
10 dollars a six pack long neck bottle here in floriduh. Much love to ya , I'm havin a Guiness right now in honor of all of you, cheers lads and lasses! To your health!
may the reason for me not getting a big enough head be that there isnt much space left in the glass when i finish pouring? ie when i finish pouring the can in to my glass, its almost full and the head wont rise much above the top of the glass?
I like to dump the can into the glass as fast as it can go, then sit back and watch the show
Also I know lots of my Guiness brothers suggest a 2-stage pour from the tap.
And while that works the problem is that if I order a pint and it comes to me and there is no sign of it setteling because the guy did the 2-step pour I always think that the beer could have been sitting around for hours before they gave it to me.
1) Yeah, technically, you'd have a tulip glass... but... most "regular" folk don't have a ton of tulip glasses lying around... most people have beer mugs or regular glasses
2) Have you tried the way we pour it????? We love Guiness and would much rather drink it on draft with the proper 2 step pour... BUT... from a Can?.. .that crappy way they describe on the can comes nowhere close to the taste of Guiness on tap. SO....
3) We have found - Through MANY, MANY, MANY experiments, that the best way to pour a Guiness from the CAN is to just up end it and chug it away... Holding it at a 45 degree angle gently for a while and then letting it sit and then topping it off, DOES NOT come close to the taste of Guiness on DRAFT....
Guiness is my favorite beer. I've been drinking it for over 20 years and this is the best way, I feel, to get as close to real draft Guiness as possible, from a can
@zorg87 You r only supposed to do a 2part pour on tap. Out of a can, 1 part pour is the best because the nitrogen widget will be losing nitrogen while the beer is settling during a 2part pour. Pouring the out of a can straight down is the best way because the nitrogen widget does not last long and it's best to pour the beer as quickly as possible to get a nice creamy head. Pouring it on tap is of course a different story where you would need to wait 2 min for the beer to settle before 2nd pour.
Oh I think it was 4.2% ? I know it's brewed by Labatt in Canada...actually if I recall correctly, I think Labatt does all the Guinness brewing for all of North America. But what can one do when a pint of Guinness at a pub is 8.00$ Canadian...Even when our dollar was on par with the US$..prices were the same.. brutal huh?
In Ireland, theres a pub in Lehinch, co.clare on the west coast.. its a famous seaside area, as it has the largest waves in europe!
A pint in Frawleys here is 3 EUROS!!.. And if hes in a good mood, less.. Not even 5 dollars! As compared to spending nearly 6Euros for larger anywhere else
@FNGamer haha, thats kind of regular price here in sweden, its not cheap though:P is it that much cheaper in finland? damn I live on the wrong side of the baltic sea...
@HermitoZ Hah, you poor Swedes. Nah, it's still as expensive as hell around here too. I'd say we're both living next to the wrong friggin' sea. The Irish Sea would probably be more like it...

This video is blasphemy. I'm pretty sure this isn't how to pour a Guiness. You can't just use any beer mug. It has to be a Guiness glass.
