  • Very weledited video......

However, even with shields down, Enterprise D would have taken down Kirks ship in just a couple of volleys.

  • Captain Kirk, as played by Tom Jones..

  • This video was very well done i have to say, but there is no way that kirk could have EVER defeated riker. #1 reason, the new Enterprise has better weapons, and better sheilds. sorry.

  • @074emmy17

Their shields were down. If that lowly Klingon Bird of Prey could take down the Enterprise-D with it's shields down, then a 23rd centurly Federation flagship surely could as well.

  • @napabar Actually no... D's shields were not down. They were only able to take her out because they acquired the shield frequency by spying through La Forge's Visor. The Klingons adjusted their weapons to that frequency, rendering Big D's shields useless. Also, it was far more than a single torpedo. Enterprise took a lot of hits and survived. The Klingons just got lucky with their last shot and hit the D in a critical spot. Not really any different than an X-wing taking out the Death Star.

  • @074emmy17 and i guess better CQC ;)

  • @074emmy17 But, Riker is a friggin' MORON who didn't have the sense to rotate the damn shield frequencies when the Duras sisters blasted hell out of his ship!

  • @074emmy17 Fuck off, Kirk could beat anything with his ingenuity. He was the man.

  • Kirk couldn't do shit without Spock....let's face it.

  • I don't get it, Kirk was a warrior, I consider Riker warrior like, but Picard was a diplomat. If you want to talk peace get Picard. You want to go to war get Kirk, or Riker. I don't get Picard better than Kirk, it depends on what the circumstance War or Peace.

  • opening title way too long.

  • fuck you =D Riker has twice the balls as kirk. Picard is ten times more wiser and the crew under picard's command are a million times more competent =D yeaah! picard is better than kirk!

  • @WhisperingDeath90 hahahaha your a funny guy...."more wiser" a nice gramatical error while talking about how smart Picard is......Good stuff......

  • @shellback1970 i'm not american you fat shit

  • @WhisperingDeath90 What the fuck does nationality have to do with anythig you whispering dick? what does the 90 stand for? Your IQ or how many dicks you can suck in a minute?

  • @shellback1970 it has everything yo do with it. i bet my IQ is better than you, i bet you still live on ur momma's apartment you fuckin jerkoff

  • Nothing beats "Hitler vs Khan"

  • try to keep the real show aowt of it like the wrath of kan

  • Are they planning a service? A heros welcome? God knows there should be LOL

  • data ohhhhhhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiit

  • funniest thing about this is the outraged Next Gen fans it's generated. Please people, it's just a joke. get a sense of humor, will ya's? I love the guy that whines about the intro taking too long and gets all huffy about it. What a crime! A long intro. Oh my goodness, I had to watch a few seconds of intro before watching the vid. Oh, the horror! LOL

  • 2:16 Data is thinking: "take that stupid old man"

  • Kirk: Yea, that's right! try taking my TV show from me!

  • Come on people, whats with all this hate against Picard and the Next Generation ? Could some one please design a plot where Picard and the Next Generation ( or Riker)

    Kick Captain Kirks' arrogant Ass ! - - - Thank you ! ( Of course lol )

  • @Obamacain9 No, we can't. :P

  • @williamskidfears - - - Well as our President would say, YES WE CAN BABY ! (LOL)

  • @Obamacain9 LMAO...too, too funny. Thanks, that just made my evening.

  • A funny title choice... "The end of boredom"

Because I didn't make it past the massively long intro. BORING.

    NEXT.

  • All these crappy TOS VS TNG movies..lol

  • those people?

  • Ah FAIL, the real Enterprise is no more than 8 feet long, thats the reality,

  • Are you all fck crazy, of course Picards ship would defeat Kirks, are you friggin demented you lot...talking about the first enterprise being a match for Enterprise D or E, thats the equivilant of puting the HMAS Endevour against the Bismarck. GET REAL... chesus.......

  • @sclinds The point is that Kirk could defeat Riker with one hand tied behind his back. Kirk basically used the same tactic that the Duras sisters did in getting his weapons through the D's shields. Their ship was from the same era as Kirk's and they brought the D down, although postumously.

  • @jtkirkfan2002 sure. and you're straight. equally likely impossible things

  • @buggyboo81 Three kids and the same wife for nearly 24 years. Take a look at my profile. I checked yours out. 33 years old and you're a "Manger" at Game Stop? I'd elaborate but I can't make it any funnier than that. Get a real life!

  • The new Frontier? Star Trek? Wow. That is so sad........... I miss the actors who passed on after this video was created and shown.

  • how is it possible that there are no videos of Kirk and Riker? I mean, Riker was the JT Kirk of TNG. I thought there would be hundreds of videos of the 2 of them, and their conquests and adventures with women.

    I didn't find any, and I'm very disappointed :(

  • Janeway:

Sulu, Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy. They all belonged to a different breed of Starfleet officers.

"Space must have seemed a whole lot bigger back then. It's not surprising they had to bend the rules a little. They were a little slower to invoke the Prime Directive, and a little quicker to pull their phasers. Of course, the whole bunch of them would be booted out of Starfleet today. But I have to admit: I would have loved to ride shotgun at least once with a group of officers like that."

  • Who the hell cares what version of Trek it is? If Roddenberry created it that's all that matters. Anyone that's base enough to nit-pick needs a diaper change.

  • A fitting end to those insipid Next Generation weenies.

  • @10072018 STFU you walking son of a bitch!

  • Enterprise vs Enterprise D? Really unbeleavable!

  • I love Spock's "Go to Hell." It's my favorite trivia question: What was Spock's last word on-screen to Kirk in Trek canon?

Alas, ST XI was the BEGINNING of boredom. Mind-numbing, brain-cell-killing, sensory-overloading boredom.

  • how can kirk reapear on the enterprise after it was destroyed

  • @luigi19987 They mixed shots of the Enterprise D going down with the shot of the Enterprise refit burning up in the atmosphere, as if to suggest that Kirk was watching the Enterprise D burn up in the atmosphere (instead of crash landing like it actually did).

  • Ill take Picard and Riker and dominate the universe

  • Man, compared to the Enterprise D, both the original Enterprise and the A are like submarines made out of garbage cans.

  • @bamapagedesign

They seem like it, but have more EXPERIENCE!

  • Comment removed

  • gah, bloody TOSers. Why can't you people appreciate the other series'? TOS is good, but Next Gen is good too. Bloody hell.

  • @redbaronorcrowley I adore TOS. And I adore TNG too. The two Roddenberry creations ARE Star Trek. DS9 VOY ENT and JJ Trek all suck.

  • @redbaronorcrowley I loke both. I just like TOS better.

  • Excellent job. This video was very well done.

  • Wow, What a brilliant piece of work here!!! So sad, That Scottie, And Dr. Mcoy, Are no longer with us ... I met James Doohan "Scottie" At a sci fi convention here in North Carolina ... We shook hands, And he signed my picture of him :))) The Original Series Rules!!

  • @jamminjoe44 I agree! The Trek movies were going down in flames for the last decade, until the folks realized that it was time to bring back the classic crew! Look how successful it was compared to Nemesis! I can watch the original six films (well, maybe 5 is a bit of a downer) over and over again. They seem larger-than-life. Yet, I've never been able to get into the TNG films. A little too politcally correct to be fun!

  • @jayanxiety yes the first six movies are epic (I once watched ST V yes V four times in a row!) but First Contact beats JJ Trek anytime. JJ Trek destroys Spock with all those stupid "sexy" scenes. Plus the cast is horrible compared to the original.

  • @sondano I agree that First Contact was near perfect, though it's the only Next Gen film that gets any positive reviews. As far as the new JJ Abrams Trek, there are people who hate it, though for the first time in years, non-Trekkers are talking about Star Trek as something "Cool". Maybe it destroyed a lot of the established Trek myths, but the future now looks bright for a franchise once considered DEAD.

  • @jayanxiety Funny, considering the "plot" of the Abrams abomination IS the "plot" from Nemesissy.

Which was the plot from The Wrath of Khan....

  • well this proves it. the original is still the best!!!!!!

  • i like video's like theses that put riker vs picard i always thought riker was like the next generations kirk thats my veiw anyway 5 stars for the video

  • Brilliant!!! great job on this video!!

  • So Kirk and company beam down to the surface just to watch the Enterprise-D get incinerated?

  • @skeve613 noooo he used it as a way to stop the klingons from taking genesis..

  • 5 stars!

  • Voyager, for me, had parts where it was great..then parts where it wasn't so great...i didn't care about nelix..but the whole being stranded out so far in space..was a really good premise :)

  • This is highly improbable and probably never happen in the world of Star Trek

  • Amazing how the Enterprise D prefix code is identical to Reliants....LOL.Hurray for Kirk!!

  • they need to make a new story about the enterpise f that would be cool

  • or enterprise z

  • nice, but i'm sorry, but enterprise D would KILL kirk's puny ship.

on another note, it would have been hilarious if you had found some way to edit in kirk capturing picard. =)

  • no cause kirks coolness would find a ways too live, his unconscious ego cant die so easily hahahah

  • while riker's hair remained perfect.

  • lol too much andorian hair spray [im no geek i heard about it]

  • @666DarkEgo geek

  • Ha, this is great!

  • I think STNG and DS9 filled most expections of ST fans.

  • I have to agree

  • gay

  • No, no, no. TNG was, in every way, a worthy successor to TOS. In many ways, it even surapssed the original. De Forest Kelley, who this video was dedicated to, passed away in 1999. So that means Voyager was on the air, if not Enterprise, which debuted in 2001.

SO WHY THE HELL HATE ON TNG WHEN YOU CAN HATE ON VOYAGER OR ENTERPRISE???

    LOL

  • enterprise was okay, but voyager FAILED

  • I think Enterprise got better over time (certainly Season 4 is what we wanted the WHOLE time), but Voyager got worse over time.

Seven of Nine kind of hijacked the show, and while she was just about the best actress on the show, and a potentially interesting character, it was always more about her catsuit than her acting skills.

Early Voyager was much more an ensemble show, an (even slightly) more interesting.

  • @SothManigan Beacuse the rot started with TNG. That was the point when Berman started killing the franchise.

  • @williamskidfears

How exactly? He helped the franchise continue on well beyond what star trek originally did. Granted I have to admit compared with the likes of TNG and DS9 Voyager and Enterprise weren't all that great but they had their moments. Star Trek is still one of the greatest franchises in the world as a whole.

Compare it to stargate which has grown continually old and stale over the last decade and by the time there was the good sense to freshen things up it was too late.

  • @pscott90 See, that's the problem I'm having. TNG, after Gene died, BS9, and Voyager all quickly grew old and stale, same basic plots, same lack of effort in the acting, same recycled cliches, and this carried on into the four TNG movies.

As for Enterprise, the first two seasons were half-decent, and the series showed promise. Then Berman basically shouldered Brannon Braga, injected the Xindi storyline into Season 3(in addition to the Temporal Cold War BS I'd have hoped would be forgotten).

  • @williamskidfears And, to make things worse, the third season ends with the old time-travel/alternate universe writing crutch we've seen HOW many times in Trek?! From there, the fourth season naturally went to Hell, with such low-lights as the Mirror Universe two-parter("In A Mirror Darkly")which had Bakula doing the evil Kirk impression even more ham-handedly than Shatner himself possibly could've done.

Honestly, it's a damn shame, cause even after Gene's death, TNG. DS9,

  • @williamskidfears and even Voyager and Enterprise all had potential if the right creative team were in control. But, TNG post-Gene became formula(or maybe I should say, pablum), DS9 was eternally solid characters in search of a story, Voyager went down the tubes rapidly after the pilot showed great promise, and Enterpise, instead of being a good solid story about the Federation's pre-history, veered off into time-travel bullshit, alien conspiracy garbage, and God knows what else.

  • @williamskidfears I would enjoy responding to this and having a little debate over this which I think might be quite interesting, however what I would start with is way too long for this little comment slot. If you will allow me I would like to PM you and state my case on a few points.

  • @pscott90 Go for it.

  • @pscott90 Oh yeah, in case you're curious, my first expirience with Trek were the TOS movies. They were the best the franchise got, IMO.

  • I don't know what's better,

    Spock's "Go----to----hell."

    or

    Data's "Ooooooooooohhhh SHIT!"

  • i think spock in the other movie with the whales is much better. he discovers that excessive use of them is strange. "the hell they're not"

  • Man. You guys who made this really were bored. LOL.

  • go to hell omfg was rly unexpected, and epic

  • On my mark, everyone dive to the left!

  • I'm sorry, but Spock wins with his "Go to hell." Never saw that line coming.

  • @Janiqua I personally liked "Once again, we've saved civilization as we know it."

  • The Enterprise - A would not have the actual damage available to them to deal with the shielding improvements on the E which is designed to withstand such punishments as a borg cube. Simply they use type 5 or so phasers, these shields are designed for type 13 and non terran variants including the disrupters from a romulan bird of prey. Also the torpedos wouldn't even have directed blasts. Ultimately the A if it got the jump on E would get a few shots off do nowt useful and be owned.

  • First of all, it doesn't take a total trekkie to know that. It's obvious. One is from the 23rd century, one is from the 24th. 100 years advanced. But I think it's funny that you went into so much detail about it. And i thought I was a trekkie, LOL

  • it's not the weapon but how you use it. I mean you can have a gattling gun and I have a 9 mm glock, I can still win over you if you're a lousy shot and I'm a ace marksman.

  • Probability supports my statement.. You made a good point but you're still wrong. It's pretty much like me having a desert eagle and you having a stick.

  • It's not that far off. The basic principles of starfleet weapons has not changed from TOS to TNG. They use the same torpedo, the yield increased barely. They use phaser arrays instead of banks but it means slower firing while phaser banks offer faster firing but less power. See it's not that far off.

  • Ok, you win. I don't ocunt myself to be a trekkie, persay but I do pride myself in what I do know about it. But you have well exeeded my expectations as to one who would truly know such things.

-PS, don't listen to those people who make fun of you for being a trekkie. They have no imagination or concept of a good story... To know everything about a made up story is not stupid. it's like knowing middle earth like the back of your hand. Sure it was made up, but so what. Still awesome!

  • yeah look into star trek, it's interesting fiction. Thank you for the compliment. I don't know everything but I know enough to debate with other trekkies. :)

  • the enterprise D has several banks that fire in more than one direction, unlike TOS

  • What's the Klingon for "I'm going to die a virgin"?

  • Well I could always reconfigure my universal translator and then ask Worf. So just, oh. No wait. Its rammed up my god damn ear. Now I'm no Ferengi. No way I'm sticking some damn peice of metal in there to set it to Klingon. Sorry.

  • they now have an iphone app that is a klingon translator. if you have that, you are officially a trekkie.

  • i have 1 but i use it to swear to my teachers KA'PLIGHKA!!

  • @jazzzzz3 He already had a kid at this point so I seriously doubt he would be saying that.

  • @jazzzzz3 What's moron for "There's more to life than just sex."

  • @jazzzzz3 you know i actually have tried to look it up....there doesnt seem to BE a Klingon word for Virgin, lol

  • Any Enterprise under the command of Picard is better than any Enterprise under the command of Kirk.

  • Really, then if Picard is better than Kirk, why did he get ten bells knocked out of him by Soran, whereas Kirk punched Soran's lights out??? Also Picard's favourite drink is Earl Grey tea (What a woose) and Kirk' can handle th strong stuff like Saurian Brandy!!!

  • Picard threw back a shot of Aldebaran whiskey in the holodeck with Scotty. He was also the reason the bottle was on the enterprise.

They were different men. Kirk was more of a Cowboy, but Picard was tough enough.

  • Every single one of you who said that the Enterprise D is a better ship that would never lose on paper to the Constitution class is correct.

However, there is the difference between a regular Constitution class ship, and a Constitution class ship under Kirk's command :D

Kirk will alwas find a way...

  • That just means that the Constitution under Kirk's command will be distracted when he sees Deanna's boobs, giving Picard ample time to BLOW THEM TO HELL

  • Lol, i had forgotten about this comment.

And as soon as the view screen comes up Spock will be instructed to start talking to Picard about some meaningless archeological discovery on a nearby moon...

That should keep both captains busy then :D

  • Then Dianna drives the Enterprise E into the A, and everyone wins.

    ;o

  • Wow listening to the fanboys raging over this argument from their mother's basements is simply fascinating. The simple fact is this: the D is a superior ship.

  • Aw, you should have found a way to have Data survive, 'cause he's awesome.

  • As if that old piece of crap could defeat the Federation Flagship. Ent D is way bigger and has more fire power. Anyway apart from that its interesting how you put the clips together.

  • This debate is almost embarrassingly inane. The Constitution Class isn't even known to be in service by the late 24th century, and Picard noted that he saw one "in a museum", yet TOS fanboys are seriously trying to argue that one could take on the largest Federation class ever built? Well fine, by that logic I'm going to start claiming the NX Class Enterprise can beat the USS Excelsior in a fight. It's the same exact logic.

  • The Funny thing is, apart from the tongue in cheek video, no one is saying the Constitution class COULD beat the Galaxy Class!

  • Actually, it's been claimed directly already once that I'm aware of, and heavily implied by you. The notion that a Galaxy class being defeated by a 20 year old BoP (not 80 years old, 20) is somehow harder to do than being crippled by a 100 year old Miranda class (give or take, WoK took place in 2285) is to say that Kirk's Enterprise is more durable than Picard's. As anyone who follows trek knows, the Galaxy class had nothing to prove after the Dominion War. It was proven both durable and deadly.

  • Keep in mind ships that were new during Kirk's era like the Miranda class were just cannon fodder in the Dominion War, while even the "mighty" Excelsior was little more than a second rate cruiser save the USS Lakota, which was heavily uprated and had quantum torpedoes added. The Galaxy class, by contrast, was the strongest ship attached to Second Fleet (the one usually shown in DS9) by a long shot, tearing into Dominion/Cardassian cruisers like they were tissue paper during Operation Return.

  • Don't get so bent out of shape; it's just a holodeck simulation! It's like the Kobiashi-Maru test.

    HaHaHaHaHa.

Move out of your parents' basement; get a life! (Evil Kirk).

  • and before anyone starts asking where I got the size figure from, the Galaxy class is roughly 5.8 million cubic meters, while the TMP Constitution class is roughly 230,000 cubic meters according to volumetric calculations done by st-v-sw(dot)net, with the methods behind the calculations right on the page.

  • LOL So Kirk and crew beamed down to the planet to watch the enterpise d burn up! LOL oh man that just makes me laugh. "quickly bones, we have to get to the transporter!!! No way im gonna miss this one!"

  • NERD ALERT

  • As for Kirk himself, not only can he not make speeches, but every single sentence is an arduous venture for him, with random 10 second pauses popping up between ever few words. In his TOS depiction, he's a 1960s relic that today, would only appeal to mindless Chuck Norris and Die Hard fanatics. Picard is far more eloquent, and far more the intellectual, and above all, is far more the modern individual.

  • picard is definately the best starfleet captain

  • As for durability, you've obviously never considered either onscreen evidence nor common sense. The Constitution class is roughly 200,000m^3, the Galaxy stands at almost 6 million m^3. Picard's Enterprise is 30 times larger, obviously it will have more mass to absorb damage. For onscreen evidence, watch DS9 "The Jem'Hadar", where the Galaxy class USS Odyssey sustained 10 full minutes of fire with no shields, and took less damage than Kirk's Enterprise sustained from a few shots from the Reliant.

  • So is that why a Galaxy Class starship had its arse kicked by an 80 year old bird of prey?

And don't bring up that crap about no sheilds

  • Oh, right, because it's not like SHIELDS matter in a battle. If we're going to use your logic, that Bird of Prey was 80 years newer and much more powerful than the USS Reliant (Miranda class) which crippled Kirk's Enterprise in far fewer shots, and downed more system (Picard's only lost one system, it just happened to be antimatter containment). Your statements are idiotic, as is the implication that Kirk's Enterprise is going to be better than a ship 100 years newer and 24 times larger.

  • Actually if you listen to Worf, he comments that "That model was retired from active service". ( but I will admit that he doesn't specify when) Secondly, Kirks Enterprise took more damage from fewer shots because and again I quote "they knew exactly where to hit us" where as the Klingons shot wildly at the unsheilded Ent-D

And yes sheilds would matter, but in both films both versions of the Enterprise had no sheilding, Kirk's were down at the time, and Picard's were neutralised.

  • Picard called it a 20 year old BOP, which means it was almost a century newer than the one used in Star Trek III/IV, and again, apply common sense here. Last I checked, technology went FORWARDS, not backwards, and Picard's Enterprise is a century newer. This is serious on the order of a faceoff between a civil war iron clad and an Iowa class battleship. Which do you honestly think is going to win? This is especially true because Picard's ship is 24 (almost 25) times larger.

  • As for photon torpedoes, even if basic M/AM warhead design hasn't changed, the Enterprise D can fire 10 simultaneously in any firing arc (my initial count was mistated there), while Kirk's Enterprise only has 2 single-fire launchers. Your comments on weapons are not only baseless, they're flat out dumb. Obviously in the century from Kirk's time to the TNG era technology is going to advance by orders of magnitude.

  • Actually I own ever tech manual of consequence and they say no such thing. Even if they did, they aren't canon, and that statement is directly contradicted by the existence of long-array phasers. The accepted emitter count for the long dorsal galaxy array is about 965 emitters, compared to single emitter ball-turret phasers, I think even you can do the math on the maximum theoretical difference, even assuming that in the past century emitters haven't changed, which they obviously have.

  • What movie is 2:17 from?

  • Besides, while I like the TOS crew (especially in the films), Picard was a much better captain than Kirk. Kirk was only good at beating things up, while Picard could be completely epic without even raising his fists. How many times has he stopped Worf from disemboweling someone with a single, soft-spoken word, or defused some massive catastrophe with nothing but a long speech on truth and justice? Kirk may have that "Chuck Norris" appeal, but Picard is a thinking man's action hero :-D

  • No Kirk can make speeches and stop catastrophes with reasoning. A real sci-fi hero can also beat the crap out of anything that stands in his way. That is Kirk.

  • I don't really see much of Kirk's crew being able to take a punch (sorry Spock but Data can argue logic and kick major ass). Kirk had to fight for his crew, Picard had to stop his crew from completely demolishing their opponents. Besides, how much did Kirk know other than fighting? Not much.

  • hey kirks crew has tangled with superior beings before on foot, but then again the opponents always have some damn weakness, besides, they just casted him as riker cause he looked like a bootleg kirk heh heh heh (not to say hes not cool)

  • @leoma1985 lol william shatner had a blackbelt... duhh

  • @leoma1985

Well, Kirk would just have whiped the floor clean in a one on one fight with picard,

but sissy frenchmen might have relied on his whiney robot friend to win, just like Blindy always gives data half his work.

  • Not only would the Enterprise D be able to vaporize a Constitution class in a single volley with either phasers or a potential 20 photon torpedoes from the forward launchers, but given the explosion in Federation firepower from long arrays with chained emitters and burst fire torpedo launchers (which the Galaxy class can withstand), Kirk's Enterprise could empty its entire compliment of torpedoes and drain its energy reserves on phasers and not make a mark on the Enterprise D.

  • no according to the tech manauals phasers and torpedoes only improved 10-15% from the time of TOS to TNG. However Kirk's Enterprise is much more maneuverable and durable considering they can withstand damage the D could only dream of..

  • LOL @ DATA

  • gotta love that TMP phaser sound

  • Yeah, one phaser blast from enterprise D would vaporize a constitution class, but it is fun to pretend.

  • Kirk Wins

    Fatality

  • Dosent make sense.

    Fail.

  • you fail.

  • kirk could easily win cause the picard dude allways wants to talk while hes getting shot at

so while he was talking kirk could just keep shooting and be like i want peace bam i want to be freinds bam rinse and repeat lol

and his phycic freinds lady could be like

i sence he thinks your retarded

  • that made no sense what so ever. look at what you are typing before you post it.

  • All in good fun. I can't wait until 2009 to get back to the future...

  • How would Kirk's Enterprise even stand a chance?

  • lol. that was mildly entertaining to watch the split vids thing.

Listening to u morons debate it was not tho haha.

    Get a life, Seriously.

  • Suddenly after watching this I am ashamed, happened about the time I read the comment before mine....

  • If you guys notice, the "President of Earth" or whatever he is, plays Red Forman on That 70's Show, also he played on "Year of Hell" ST:Voyager. Random but something I noticed a few years ago.

  • Isn't he also Neil Perry's dad on "Dead Poets Society"?

  • Yes, but I was just relating to Star Trek.

He was also a General in the military on the movie Broken Arrow with the "King of Cool" Travolta, and Christian Slater.

  • I see. Well, I kind of like his generally stern look in the roles I've seen. xD;

  • lol. love the outlandish scream that dude does as he flies across the screen at 0:24

  • sorry I meant 1:24
