  • Oh, that's right I forgot. The world wasn't successful enough without the internet. You must be talking about how successful the porn industry has become because of the internet. Exposure of porn to children has never been greater. Also, the porn industry has the ability to sexually exploit women and children more than ever. Free access of the internet makes it easy. Net nutrality would be a mandate by the government in favor of garbage on the internet like porn. Why not, ruin children's lives?

  • @gfp163

Great suggestion, I say next we follow saudi arabia and execute anyone who watches porn.

  • when are you going to cut the rubbish and get your kit off and make all the lads happy xx

  • collars down=1990's... what are you going to do about it?

  • hahaha, i think the last time i saw you, you were wearing 4 polos! including that pink one...or was it salmon?

  • Shut the eff up! Matt!? My real friends are never supposed to see my YT channel! Anyhoo, if I remember correctly they were salmon. :)

  • Well I found it after Facebook Mini-Feed pointed the way. I got a kick out of some of your videos; Good job! I should post a video response...all 4 popped collars worth!!

  • she is very funny. She is as the woman cop in police academy.

  • I advice her to watch the movie : "the candidate" with robert redford.

  • you're amazing and brilliant

  • Limitless undying Love

    which shines around me

    like a million suns,

It calls me on and on

    Across the universe

    Jai guru deva, om,

    Nothing's gonna change my world

  • You would be a good news broadcaster. :)

  • Yeah If She Could Just Wear Less Clothing !!!

  • lmao...i love it!

  • Regulation is the bane of entrepreneurs. It is the single most inhibiting factor for individual wealth building in this country. Regulation is good in instances where people can be hurt like the environment. Other than that, it is a means to generate revenue streams for the US Treasury. Democratic Legislatures all over California are tweaking their utilities laws to include the eventuality of internet and cell phone taxes. This is not good for America... taxes inhibit liberty.

  • Question??? You talk about not being Biased... But this is very biased..

  • how so?

  • you have no idea of what your talking about. If you do your just a sell out.

  • Too bad they didn't give this question to Ron Paul. He strongly opposes regulating the internet. They purposely screwed Ron Paul in the debates, those big corporate media dirtbages.

  • Good question. Too bad it couldn't have been used... Too busy with 3(!) questions about guns, a question about lead toys, gays in the military, and the ever-pressing Sox/Yankees one.

  • My goodnes, you sound so Repubican.

  • You mean smart?

  • please stop making videos.. seriously.. please stop. go make me a sandwich..

  • This is a good video and question. Short, and well phrased.

  • I'm surprised you didn't pop those two collars. Nice question, robot.

  • I my god.. this is one of the best comments I have ever read.. haha

  • :-&

  • I wholeheartedly support freedom of the internet, but not Net Neutrality actually is just a back door way of gov't control. NN is one of those things that sound good but isn't when you have the facts in front of you.

Another layer of gov't intrusiveness doesn't help anyone.

  • My apologies for the duplication in postings.

  • The Internet is the product of a combined government, military and university based effort: it was originally called DARPAnet because the research was paid for by the Defense Advanced Projects Research Administration. The 'net is designed to survive a nuclear war or other disasters.

  • DARPA is a relatively new term. The Internet was never known as DARPAnet... it was originally called ARPAnet though. It was developed by private companies and their employees and further funded by the US military. The link included some Universities when it was first set up.

  • I heard Al Gore invented the internet.

  • To stonereflex: the Internet was spawned by the work of DARPA, Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration. Before it was "the Internet" it was DARPAnet. It is wholly a creation of government-university-military cooperation. The very system is designed to route around outages, which are equal to censorship, so get the facts correct.

  • she is very important to our political process. hell all of the youtubers are the greatest thing to happen to politics ever......hmm

  • MUIEEEE LA AMERICANI

  • Your question is too complicated for someone prospecting the position of President of the U.S. of A. Stick to 2 syllable words and color pictures and they should all follow you just fine.

  • Lol! She talks just like Marilyn Monroe.. with the very expressive lips. Cute. ;P

  • When did net neutrality have anything to do with anywhere near the 1920s? fix it. and SLOW DOWN!! make it clear of what your opinion is. speak a little slower. your video won't make of any use if more than half of the viewers can't understand what you are saying...

  • slow down...

  • Melissa, "net neutrality" is just a term introduced to soften people up for coming mass internet censorship, in the name of "neutrality" (like the patriot act 1 and 2 reduces civil liberties in the name of freedom).

    ...cont

  • Net neutrality is a non-issue because ITS A GIVEN. The government did not create, does not control/ have any power over the internet. "What are you going to do to make it "official law"" is asking the government to regulate the internet in some way when they have no power over it in the first place...

  • and sadly thats exactly what they wanted people to say. They create a crisis, then come up with the solution, both of which are fake/phoney, and just serves their goals.

  • There's no denying that telecom companies want to regulate which websites you can access and at what level of convenience. It's clearly documented. What I want is for the government to make rules, like the rules regarding monopolies, that will make it impossible for telecom companies to "own" the internet. Not too unreasonable a request, I don't think.

  • ok what type of telecom companies are you talking about here? ISP's, phone companies, search engines?? or what. These companies, even IF they try "regulating the internet" can ONLY do it through their services, anything else is already illegal, just like a publishing company trying to regulate a bookstore, it just cant happen. Please point me to this documentation you speak of, i would really like to see it.

  • I get what you're saying. My isp(Time Warner) actually contacts the local authorities if you use certain phrases in search engines. One such phrase is "upskirt". The isp is actually trying to help law enforcement keep an eye on potential peto's. Which is generally a good thing for society's safety, but not for our longterm freedom.

  • The internet also holds media. Freedom of the Press already contradicts that idea.

  • The internet was around since 1920? Wow thats news.. did anyone tell Al Gore that? I am sure he wasnt around when he created the internet.

  • uhh...this was good, but im not intelligent enough to know what you were saying lol

  • You may want to check out Ron Paul.

  • possibly the most annoying person on the tube dont post again thanks

  • Net Neutrality is a backwards approach to a real problem. What you really need to do is completely deregulate data networks (cable companies in competeting markets for example) so that if and when organizations attempt to abuse their power, there is a free market alternative. Government intervention only opens the door to corportism and corruption.

  • you should have showed cleavage then they might have picked your video. anyways you named "social, humanitarian, business" but you forgot to mention porn... um like hello?

  • unseen since the 1920? do explian

  • goddammit your voice is so annoying

  • are you fixing to go bowling?

  • You may want to look Ron Paul.

  • GREAT QUESTION! They never talk about this one...and we know why.... :-(

  • You should look into Ron Paul. He doesn't want the Gov. to be involed at all in the 'net. Just leave gov. OUT.

  • your vote doesn't count

  • You need to remove this video, you give out your full name which is a BAD idea on the net. Wise up gurly.

  • a name is a name. You cant do anyting with it but get someones attention. Wise up faggit she has a beautiful name. lol jk but she is fine as fuck. I dont know about politics and all thier sneaky bullshit. but the girl in the clip is worth listening too

  • What do you care? Your going to vote democrat anyhow.

  • Lastly, don't use the 1920's as a decade of financial success when it ended in the worst, longest lasting financial depression in the country's history. It belies your ignorance about very basic American (uh, world) history.

  • Secondly, the phrase "net neutrality" is ambiguous and assumes the candidate and the audience knows what that is. Are you talking about freedom of speech on the 'Net? Taxing purchases on the 'Net? Who is supposed to be neutral about what related to the 'Net? Help us out here.

  • First of all, Presidential Candidates don't need your history lesson on the 'Net or economics; they just need a question, which would take you about 10 seconds to ask, such as, "What do you plan to do to protect 'Net neutrality?"

  • good question, better than the ones actually asked

  • They don't need to actually pass this as a law. It will continue to exist unless we allow censorship/constricting laws to pass....so just leave it like it is and don't let any laws pass to mess it up :-))

  • wtf is net neutrality?

  • snobby

  • Coming from an B. Hussein Obama supporter? You don't get a question.

  • SLO! I live near you in Bakersfield!

  • Nothing, they will do nothing about it. They can hardly fix this nations Infrastructure much less make this a law. The public schools overall are falling apart, highways are congested and you think they will pass this. LOL :)

  • good question, although i get the feeling they're gonna bring up porn and rant about "morality" and shit.

  • lol the italin guy was funny ( va fung gulo)

  • To pass Net Neutrality, you would be putting regulations on the internet which would give companies the opportunity to make you pay higher prices for different packages. If you want fasy internet, purchase the gold package,. If you can't afford the gold, expect slow internet.

  • What about now, when dial-up access costs only $10 per month, while DSL costs $25

  • Dial up costs a phone line. This is comparing apples to oranges. There is only DSL, who uses dial up?

  • Wireless Fios

  • annoying cunt

  • What? Did your mother come in the room?

  • in the first 4 seconds of this video i didnt understand a fucking word

  • That's alright, she's cute so what she's saying doesn't really matter. XP

  • lol

  • =o You talk faster than me

  • UR SOOO HOT.........

  • I think you pose a good question, but i'll be honest; i doubt any of the candidates will have a good answer for you because this is an area they care little about. It doesn't bring out any partisanship or dissension of party lines among the candidates which is what the media networks want, but i hope they answer it for you anyway. Creative question.

  • compagnucci...u speak ital? Va fung gulo!!!

  • i hope ur question makes it on the debate

  • NN is Government Control, not protection.

  • AHHAHAHAHA NO1 CARES

  • Very nice! Compagnucci? Italian girl? I did not know. :)

  • Oops, that comment from 'NSider2' was by me. Forgot I was logged into a shared account :P Not that it really matters, but I kind of don't want any feedback on my opinion being PM'ed to that account when I'm not the only one who can see it.

  • Considering how the internet has grown so quickly, it would seem like we need Net Neutrality if anyone wants the chance of becoming the next Google. Then again, regulation would keep such companies from gaining so much power. I'm actually a bit mixed on the issue. Something I know I'm against, though, is the 'Fairness Doctrine', but that's not an internet issue.

  • FYI - For those of you who have nothing nice to say, go somewhere else and be nasty and vile because it's not welcome here. And for those of you who are supportive and have legitimate viewpoints and opinions, thank you! Keep up the great work Melissa!!

  • Good question Melissa betcha Ron Paul will be the only one with a good answer...

  • Cool fast food restaurant uniform! New job!?

  • Finally someone who's actually addressing this issue.

P.S. San Luis Obispo is gorgeous.

  • I'm really glad you're talking about this issue. <3 <3

  • Wow I was watching You tube debate questions and got this one. Thought it was good then looked to the right and saw that this bitch had a whole little collection going checked out one of um, it was as if this girl thinks people give a shit about what she has to say:)

  • Net Neutrality will be the end of the net as we know it. It's main purpose is to give congress the right to tax internet service much like they've taxed phone service. Also it will force regulations and laws upon users that will end what really makes the internet great.

PLEASE READ THE BILL PEOPLE! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK! IT'S A LOT LIKE BUSHES "CLEANER SKIES ACT" IT'S MISLABELED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ THINGS FIRST.

  • The Attention Whore strikes back. the subliminal message here is : "look at me! look at me! take me serious! discover me! give me a job in your TV show!

    what a pretentious bitch!

  • I got to say that was quite an intelligent comment and by the way I am not being sarcastic. But lets face it the girl has good social skills, she can deliver a message and she is very articulate. I think she has quite a positive outlook and I think that people such as myself who have the total opposite perception can find it either refreshing or insincere. I was of the latter but after watching and reading what she writes I am not of the former.

  • an angry little elfy you are

  • you are a shallow person

  • u looked pleased at ur q?

    nice lil smice ma

    1 luv

  • darlin' I gotta say one thing, that shirt is cute as hell on you but it looks exactly like the uniform I wore at my first job. A whataburger rip-off called watsonburger.

    Thanks for the acid flashback.

  • I think i am going to totally invest in net neutrality in the hope that someone could explain what the fuck it is.

  • you're good at what you do. as far as net neutrality being the law of the land I'm too much of a pessimist to belive any neutrality will be allowed to exist in this america. Net or not but it would be nice.

  • VOTE RON PAUL

  • Winner. Damned if I know how to answer it. Have to play it again. You worked hard on this one. How do you see net neutrality being threatened today MJ and what should be done? Post a video response after the debate.

  • David, I hadn't thought of that, but maybe I'll post my opinion directly afterward? What I CAN say is that you should keep refreshing my channel all day on Wednesday. That's all I'm gonna say. :)

  • The internet is just like any other service (like cable tv/electricity/etc) We have been getting the free ride for a long time, the companies that laid the lines which are the nerves of the internet down DESERVE to get paid.

  • i pay for internet. you get it for free?

  • Yes, why would you pay for it? That's a waste of money. I get free wifi at school and in coffee shops. Unless you spend all of your time at home AND on the internet, there is no reason to pay good money for it.

  • That's an amazing question MelissaJenna! I would totally protect net neutrality. Otherwise, what if they blocked you, then what would I do!?!?#?

  • Well said.

    and don't pop your collar.

  • lol, I totally considered doing it just for the video, but then I realized that I'd look like a giant db to anyone who doesn't know me well enough to know that I would NEVER do that for serious.

  • HAHA! You said "for serious". I thought only my friends said that. Sorry, random I know. But just thought I'd share.

  • ?huh?

  • asromab3, you are the cancer that is plaguing youtube and the reason we can't have nice things.

  • I would hope that the internet could withstand a negative comment or two. Melissa does have the ability to block users like asromab3, hint hint, *wink* *wink*, *nudge* *nudge*, I'll say no more!

  • Done and done. ;)

  • *Whooosh* Over my head. But you look great! Can't wait to watch the debates even though they're Republican.

  • Fantastic question, Melissa! (i love ur last name by the way <3)

  • Really Good Question!

  • Great question, Melissa.

(Is it just me, or are the audio and video not synced?)

  • It's probably just youtube-- it messes with the quality of videos sometimes :/

  • Very good question.

    gorobad :-)

  • I demand that this be in the debate.

  • COOOOOOOL!!!

    -MVN

  • Good Question.

  • LIKE YOUR SHIRT MELISSA !! LOOK GOOD !

  • u remind me of reese witherspoon in "Election" hehe...thats not a bad thing btw :)

  • Always good Melissa. I also asked a question for the debates. It's was about the US Constitution.

  • Actually that's pretty much the way politicians ask questions--she's speaking their language. And don't forget she's speaking to republicans here, who'll probably need those 29 seconds to grasp what the question is about. They're still trying to figure out the connection between melting snowmen and global warming.

  • The federal government has no business regulating the internet. It has no right, no one in congress understands the internet at any technical level, and it would actually be harmful because the politicians are in bed with the corporations.

  • no right? Why do you think the government has no right? Its our government, and we can do what we want. If someone comes up with a good law to maintain net neutrality, I'm all for it.

  • You see, in the US we have this thing called the constitution that severely limits the powers of government. Net Neutrality would violate 1st amendment rights of the ISP's. It's because of people like you who think the government can do whatever it wants that we are in Iraq.

  • Heh, the 1st amendment rights of an ISP? Well, I don't buy that. I challenge you to back that statement up, and/or express other ways that net neutrality would be unconstitutional.

You are offering the constitution as a reason for why the PEOPLE should not create a net neutrality law. The constitution is intended to limit the government, not the people.

I think we should continue the debate.

  • i love yoooou:)

  • For anyone who wondering what "Net Neutrality" is:

    Visit

    savetheinternet dot com

  • I totally should have mentioned that in my question! -10 for mj :(

  • We can only hope the response to this question is as cogent.

  • Good question. Love the layered shirts too. They'll probably just answer with the typical "the government shouldn't interfere" line. Because we all know there would be no corporate scandal if the bad old government stopped interfering.

  • This is one of the most important things to not only to all us youtubers but to small business owners, like myself, that rely on the web for a majority of our income. Great question, hopefully we will get an answer.

  • Great Question! All for Net Neutrality.

  • Hi Melissa,

Glad to see you back on yt. I want to respond something that's related to Net Neutrality, but don't know much about it, so.... hey, keep up the good work :)
