  • @Poetbureaucrat /watch?v=vQObWW06VAM

    basically the same thing

  • @aznbleachmaster OK, but if someone is looking for the track by SHG, they would need the proper title to find the 12" or find it on an LP. Peace.

  • @Poetbureaucrat OK. Except the actual recors is called "Apache". Peace.

  • @samialafandi It's The Sugarhill Gang, but it's still called Apache, not Jump On It

  • @samialafandi The Rap Song is Apache by the Sugarhill Gang

  • @samialafandi "The Sugarhill Gang" implimented those lyrics in thier song "Apache" in 1980

  • This record came out in 1973 with no airplay, when breakdancing came out in New York City in 1977 this song was a hit! and became an anthem in NYC and Hip-Hop itself.

  • DJ Kool Herc....

  • 2:24 is the magic. Still get tingly.

  • good number

  • Feels good when Bboying to this

  • jump on it lol

  • 5 people tried to hit the beat at 1:47 and failed

  • Jim Gordon was the drummer. He was THE top session guy in LA and played with Clapton in Derek and the Dominos. In fact, he even wrote the piano section at the end of Layla. His other famous contributions were the drums on 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number' by Steely Dan. He even played drums on 'Good Vibrations' by the Beach Boys. Unfortunately, he was also schizophrenic and end up killing his mother in 1984. He is still incarcerated.

  • @MarcusSW10 I think only a schizophrenic could play the drums like this!

  • Makes me wanna get the blue-suede Adidas Campus and Shell Toes outta da closet !

  • No this song did not come out in the '1973.

It was first released in 1960 by the shadows.

It's on YT, give it a listen.

  • fresh prince of bel air LOL ^_^

  • Break dance electric boogie ! Break dance electric boogie !

  • If you can sit still when this song is playing you've never been a b-boy or b-girl!

  • @BronxisNr1 No doubt!

  • this is definitely the bboy anthem.

  • @crazyone259 this song is from the 70ies idiot!

  • @toxzproductions

  • they have this song from the bboy game

  • they have this song from the bboy game

  • sorry. compared to the shadows this sounds like the elevator music version. Nice B3 sound though...

  • Why did breakdance leave me T_T... oh wait, I left breakdance. Otherwise, the groove never dies in the heart of one who jumped in that wave. Music is like the blood flowing trough your veins. When it comes from you, it follows your heartbeat. I love breakdancing for one reason: Even though there's competition, everybody follows the same beat. In the end, they all meet up at the same point. I really miss breakdancing. This song makes me nostalgic. Oh hell with it ! *Starts doing top rocks.*

  • I broke both my thighs break dancing to this during an episode of Mork and Mindy. Never break dance when watching the TV.

  • Bad

  • REALLY COLL!

  • when i hear this song i have to breakdancing

  • hola

  • 0\/\/N3|)

  • This is on my Funeral playlist.

  • clear some room...PLAY THIS LOUD!

  • what a shame a very talented drummer he played with the everly brothers when he was only 17 years old i believe... as well as derek and the dominos and on many other tracks as a session drummer what a waste

  • @m1vgp21 Don't quote me on this but I heard a rumour that the drummer from Derrick and the Dominoes killed his mum... great drummer - serious mental health problems!!!

  • @8Neill its true. Jim Gordon was his name. So tragic. He was known as one of the greatest drummers in the entire world.

  • Fuck!! i love this Sound!!

  • jump on it jump on it, lol nice brekdancing song

  • I'm ready to pop and lock now.

  • THROW DOWN OR GTFO..............!

  • does anybody know if this is jim gordon playing drums in this song

  • @m1vgp21 - Yep Jimmy Gordon, the murderous schizophrenic session drummer who took out his mother with a hammer in 1983 and is still behind bars! Shame realy...lol

  • Calling out, Bboy Anthem!

  • good good i luv it :D

  • CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOONN

  • B boy 101! Classic. Old school. Foundation. Foundation ! My nigga! This is rock bottom as you can get.

  • In the 80's back in New York , D.J. Mechanic used to mix this song to hell and I used to eat the "break" part for breakfast. Art of Noise's "Beat Box" and "Close To The Edit" were among my favorites and "Looking For The Perfect Beat" . I used 2 rip it. Those were the days !

  • everybody chill and enjoy the music for what it is. also, practice your uprockingor guitar riffs instead of youtube arguing over this dope song.

  • DJ's had had to work wit what they had back then. Most samples go unrecognized these days cuz they just don't know. Not even listed in tha credits like they used to be. They're hidden...

  • @crltnmd Yep. Too much sample laws.

  • @shelfpup Why you gotta be an ass, he never said it started on Jump On It, he was just saying it was on it, You sir are the "stupid shit". You fucking dumb ass.

  • Why is everyone name checking a million different rap, funk, soul, bboy bands (Melle Mel, Busy Bee, Kool Moe Dee, Afrika Bambaataa, ROCK STEADY CREW, Crazy Legs, Freeze to Please, Ken Swift, Grandmaster Flash, Cold Crush Crew, Beastie Boys, Sugar Hill Gang, Big Bank Hank, Kurtis Blow, LL Cool J, RUN DMC, Public Ememy, Sly Stone, The JBs...) that have covered this and keep saying how amazing this song is without mentioning that it is itself a cover a Shadows song from 1960?

    Know yr music people!

  • @trickyricky99 lol bboys just care about the beat xD

  • Did NO ONE notice this is the melody from Jump On It by Sir Mix-A-Lot?

  • @feltymcsqueeb did you not notice sir mix-alot was alot later than this you stupid shit.jump on it was sugarhill gang song.this is where it started

  • @shelfpup

holy SHIT you ignorant fucking idiot, I was pointing out that Jump On It sampled the melody from this track, but no one caught on yet. Clearly you're the "stupid shit", you ignorant fuck.

  • @feltymcsqueeb hahaha teenagers...and then they ask why they re not given more freedom! if you had the freedom you would get so angry over some stupid shit a stranger said you would pop all your zits at one time coz of the pressure building up in your thick skulls!

  • @fivos833

Ha ha ha, and you, being the mature adult, gets to sit around and judge, acting like you're so deserving because you've managed to keep yourself alive longer. I react to hostile ignorance with hostile ignorance. Reap what you sow.
