  • In what seems to be a business with more scumbags than stand up guys, gotta love DDP for falling into that latter category. I stopped watching WWE as the heroes of my youth started to die by the dozen. It is a welcome change seeing a great wrestler from my childhood who's life doesn't look like a rerun Scott Hall or Jake Roberts. Kudos to ya DDP for keeping your head on straight. Never knew much about Kanyon, but its refreshing to hear that he was such a solid guy.

  • i always used to pick kanyon in wcw mayhem R.I.P Dude

  • Hey, DDP... you're alright man. You're my all-time fav wrestler, and I've got to say - you seem like a remarkably nice guy. Just found out about Kanyon, he was always great. Nice to see you paying tribute to his "real" life. I'm happy to see you doing so well. Thanks for the memories - RIP Kanyon.

  • Having just finished a few books that really show the darker side of wrestling, hearing DDP talk with such care and honesty about a much missed star like Chris Kanyon is really uplifting.

We miss you Kanyon. Always will.

  • damn this makes me sad that kanyon is dead. I always thought he could flad out work he was decent on the mic. "what about kanyon?!!". i thought he should of got more of a push

  • R.I.P Chris, you are missed greatly!

  • I can see the hurt in your eyes bro, looks like it really hurt you to not be able to attend your friend Chris's funeral. I really liked him as a wrestler he was truly gifted. Beautiful words thanks for sharing them with all of us DDP. You da man bro

  • Rest in peace Kanyon,You were a great wrestler.

  • Man page I LOVED Watching you and raven back in the good old days on WCW. Your matches with raven were so awesome to me man. Thanks for that.

  • Who better than DDP, to do a tribute for Chris Kanyon? I remember you both from WCW and your time in WWE, so I was upset too when I heard of his passing. Just seeing this video now though...

A touching tribute. You are a true legend amongst men and you clearly have love for your peers and those who have unfortunately left this earth before us.

Thank you for showing a deeply personal message.

    Much respect to you.

  • bring back the mullet man!!!

  • Wow I didn't even know I just wanted to look kanyon up. Wow I loved the innovativer of offence also know as mortis. Wow these guys pass way too early we take the veterans for granted like flair, hogan, Taker, warrior and so on.

  • I use to say Who badder than Kanyon!! He was a good heel. Good face. Good wrestler. Good person,God bless.

  • Don't be sad that he died. Be happy that he lived.

I watch this every once in a while, makes me smile, such a great tribute. Thanks DDP

  • How refreshing to hear a pro wrestler talk so eloquently about someone else. I don't mean that in a bad way and i'm aware it's paying tribute to someone who sadly died....but I've seen many 'shoot' interviews on here and basically it's just washed up old pro's dishing the dirt. This is an excellent watch.

  • @KillWullie Thanks bro I'm glad you dig it... Chris was a great guy.

    DDP

  • @Dallapage do you watch wwe today ?

  • who's better than Kanyon? LOL

Im sure he had a nice life

  • thanks for your time and entertainment

  • DDP you are one of my all-time favorite wrestlers.Too bad about Chris Kanyon demise he was quite a talented in ring performer like yourself.Shame on Vinny Mac for underutilize after the Invasion storyline ended.

  • Ironic he mentions Macho Man at the beginning.

  • Some of my favorite moments involving Kanyon was when he would do the Kanyon Cutter. He would just find random people and Diamond Cutter them! That was HILARIOUS. The funniest one to me was the guy standing outside the arena in a far shot and you barely see him drop this guy, do DDP's "Bang" pose, and then run back in the building. I was on the floor from laughing so hard!

  • this the REAL DDP channel? NICE !!!

  • I once got to meet Kanyon once in 2006 he was a nice enough guy even answered my dumb mark question I asked lol. RIP Chris Kanyon

  • God Bless Kanyon it would have benn cool to see him and L.A. Park become a tag team

  • I can't remember hearing anything about Kanyon's death. I literally screamed "what they fuck is this?" I can remember when you guys came to WWE and how I couldn't stand you but as I watched more WCW tapes and you became European Champion you became one of my favorites. I wish you'd have both stayed longer, but thanks for the memories. WHO BETTA THAN KANYON?!

  • I love DDP! Sad to hear about Kanyon. I was his fan when he was in WCW.

  • I saw Kanyon live in Lexington Ky for WCW Thunder and I remember Perry Saturn acting like he was breaking ll his fingers and i just remember being so amazed at how he could take the pain lol but he was always awesome and i will never forget his days in "the flock"! RIP! Thanks for making this in honor DDP i am sure you were a hell of a great friend to him

  • my favorite moments of the late great Wrestler Mr. Chris Kanyon (RIP) is when he use to imitate DDP along w/ the ladies & carrying around the look alike Heavy Weight Wrestling Championship belt doing cool promos!..my heart goes out to ya Bro! ]0l

  • never knew DDp had a youtube acc!

  • ddp is a good man

  • Man he was awesome! So sad his life ended like this. Thank you DDP for making this vid.

I always thought that STING, DDP, CHRIS KANYON would all be at the top today (I realize Sting is on TNA...) but when WCW went bye, bye it was like WCW wrestlers were really given up on. Goldberg! I thought he'd be at the top too. I miss WCW!

Wish I could meet all the wrestlers I just mentioned....and some. Now I won't have the chance to meet Chris Kanyon. Major Bummer!

  • WHAT ABOUT KAYON!!! RIP

  • I always felt like Kanyon had the ability to be World Champ if WCW had lived on. He was a fantastic talent and was a natural heel.

  • Kind words DDP... And I'm sure Kanyon's family truly appreciate this...

  • Kanyon was one of favorites, just like ddp and the Jersey Triad was great! Wish it had lasted longer, wish kanyon had gotten bigger pushes in wcw and wwf/e and of course i wish he was still here. R.I.P. Chris Kanyon, you were awesome.

  • DDP vs Goldberg was great back in '98'

  • DDP and Kanyon; along with Bam Bam Bigelow. = Jersey Triad. Awesome wrestling stable. R.I.P Kanyon and Bam Bam. I marked for all 3 of these guys. Who betta than Kanyon!!!

  • R.I.P. Chris Kanyon

    Wish you the best DDP.....

  • This dude seems genuine as hell.

  • I just stumbled on your Youtube page. Dallas, you're one of the best in the ring. I've seen you in WCW (house shows, Nitro, etc) a few times. You & Chris's chemistry was perfect. What a pleasure to be able to talk to you. God bless.

  • Those were some beautiful words! I just found your channel and I want to thank you for the many many amazing years of wrestling! You were a huge reason why I watched WCW. I would always consider Sting,Flair and you (DDP) the true STARS of WCW. I remember first watching you wrestle when you were fueding with Johnny B, Badd. Chris was an amazing wrestler. I always remember when he came out and destroyed Ravens Flock, I believe I have it saved in my favorites Thank you both for your amazing talent

  • Seems a little excessive to compare him to Jake Roberts, but then again, he may've been held back by the promotors and corporate ppl due to his orientation, so I could be wrong.

  • You guys played such a big part in my school/college life. Every Friday night it was me, my dad and my best friend playing Goldeneye, order afew pizzas to watch WCW with and then back to Goldeneye for hours. We used to ague over whether your music sounded like Nirvana or not. My biggest memory of Kanyon was when he got powerbombed off the top of the triple cell. My jaw hit the floor. That guy was awesome and did so much for wrestling. Thanks for the brilliant memories man

  • RIP Kanyon

One of my top favourite guys ever in professional wrestling, we used to mess around playing wrestling in high school, and I would always be "The Innovator of Offense", modelling myself exactly on Kanyon. And my first name is Chris too.

Thanks for some amazing memories Chris Kanyon.

Much love to you as well DDP, also one of my favourite wrestlers of the era along with Chris.

    Peace

    CJD

  • RIP, Kanyon.

Kanyon with Malone's wrestling training picture is my favorite one.

also,BBB ,Mike Awesome, Test , why u guys leave us so early.

Test is a close friend to Nash, so i got a curious question:

Karl Malone, Kevin Nash, Big Show which one is taller in real life? would u tell me?

Test ,JBL ,and Mike Awesome who's tallest in real life?

I saw u with JBL's photo, u with Malone and Mike Awesome's backstage photo . And saw u with Test on TV, looks like Test is tallest.

  • I only came across this today, as Gabe Sapolsky of DragongateUSA, EVOLVE and the mind originally behind Ring Of Honor&ECW. Has put out on his FB About everyones fave Nitro-Era moments of WCW now its been a decade. Remembering the fun we had watching Yourself, Kanyon. The triad, Ready to rumble were some of my fond memories of watching wrestling.

  • DDP=Class Act

  • would just like to ur oh so true and he was one of my fav wrestlers his personality moves and all he was the man no one was better than kanyon

  • @maricsouth Thanks bro but not at this time... you may wanna subscribe to DDP Tv on you tube.... I just did a great interview with RVD.

    DDP

  • Diamond Dallas Page & Chris Kanyon, fantastic workers together, including their feud with Kane & the Undertaker! The Cage match at SummerSlam 2001 is one of my favorite matches. From what I've seen, Chris Kanyon was very talented in the ring. DDP is the man! Would of loved to of seen you stay in WWE for longer and become World Champion again. The 90's and early 00's were the best days ever (the Golden Era) Hope you're well DDP, all the best.

    R.I.P Chris Kanyon!

    Sam

  • @samthebfg Thanks for you kind words bro...

    DDP

  • Hey DDP, much class in this tribute, great to see you again. Heard you are going to host the Monday Nitro dvd set coming soon. Man, they could not made a better choice. Much respect for you as one of the very few self accomplished stars WCW had. I'm glad WWE is finally recognising WCW and give you this opportunity instead of Nash or so, and this dvd will make the new generation see DDP as the people's champion you were . Greetings from Belgium. Chris

  • Thanks Page miss seeing you in the ring

  • @RelaxingGhost Thanks bro if you wanna get my Video Blogs go to me DDP site and Join Da Real DDP video blogs.

    DDP

  • @Dallapage hey man i miss seeing you in the ring your charisma was unmatched and i was wonderin if wwe ever approached you not for wrestling but for a backstage role or commentating?

  • Hey DDP. Just stumbled across this at work. Just want to say, its really cool of ya to write back to fans who watch this. Not alot of guys would do that. Shows what a class act ya are. Thanks for the memories bro.

  • @brggset Thanks bro if you wanna get my Video Blogs go to me DDP site and Join Da Real DDP video blogs.

    DDP

  • @Dallapage Hey DDP i've been a huge fan of yours ever since WCW i got to see ya live once too i gotta say man seeing a video like this really does show how human you guys are it is really cool to see you being you though i just really hate seeing all the guys the wrestling world has lost especially Kanyon he was such a showman and when you guys would feud, man it was the best well i wish you the best and keep doing great things man never get tired of seeing you in hollywood

  • @LionheartCrusaderX Thanks for the Heartfelt words bro

    DDP

  • Dallas is this Really you? You were the best of the WCW/ECW Alliance

  • @DJEMIKE1 Yes is me ... The reason I was clean shaven is because I was filming a movie called Pizza Man..

    DDP

  • @Dallapage Wow that is great! i am so glad to be talking to The Page; you have been one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. one of the greatest moves the DIAMOND CUTTER

  • @WardenGordon

um he is filming a movie and is wearing make up.

  • I just came across some Kris Kanyon videos, I'm extra late but it is better than never.

DDP has a youtube channel. That's niceness, I'm subscribing.

  • DDP has a channel on utube?! and DDP answers questions?! oO

  • wow DDP looks different, shame wat they did to him and the other WCW legends in WWE

  • good to see and hear ddp. always been a huge fan.

    R.I.P Chris Kanyon

  • looks soo different without a beard dude, i became a fan on day 1 of seeing you and there need to be more wrestlers like you today. Hope you read this message DDP! BANG!

  • Guys like u r the reason I'm in this business now I thank u for ur hard work an hopefully I'll make it to my dream like you did and right now I'm training with killer tim Brooks but any thanks for the memories brother

  • I dont really watch or keep up with pro wrestling any more and it seems ever time i look up a wrestler after thinking to my self "hmm What ever happened to so and so, they were really great in the ring" It almost always turns out the same. Man i cant believe im just hearing about this, RIP Chris Kanyon.

  • I SAW YOU WRESTLE IN MACON GA BACK IN 95 AND 96 !

  • God bless DDP

  • your looking really old dude

  • Hey DDP, Do you remember when you went to FOB Kirkuk in Iraq. That was really cool of you. Thanks for coming down to say hi, really. By the way, Yoga is awesome. Just thought I would put that out there.

  • @punchyR Of course I remember bro... It was my honor... and you're right yoga is awesome but YRG is changing the world... go to my DDP site and watch the video of the disabled vet I helped walk again... Also you should google DDP YRG Retreat ExtravaganZa you may wanna come ... it's going to be a BlasT!

    YRG4LIFE

    DDP

  • @Dallapage

Thats right, you came down to do the YRG. I forgot about that, I think that is what got me into yoga. Ill check out your program. Thanks again for coming out.

  • @Dallapage and to continue my last post, I would like to say thank-you for all the memories you've given me as a kid growing up watching WCW & WWE.

  • bro !!wat ahppen to the facial hair

  • @anthony77343 I was doing a movie bro

  • @Dallapage Hey Dallas, if you don't mind answering this question, in theory, why do you think the WWE pays very little tribute to the passings of a lot of well-known wrestlers? Because right along with Chris Kanyon, I had NO IDEA of the other big names who were no longer with us such Crash Holly, Big Boss Man, Test, & Mike Awesome. Why do you think they didn't get as much WWE coverage as Eddie Guerrero & Owen Hart when they passed?

  • excellent story. DDP and Kanyon are two of the most gifted and underrated wrestlers ever to set foot in the ring. Also Kidman, Helms, and Shannon Moore.

There needs to be more hard workers like these. And Bischoff has always been a genius in the business.I didn't even know that he started with the whole developmental idea.

  • Very emotional and inspiring tale about Kanyon. Thank you so much for relating that personal story to us DDP. You two were always enjoyable to watch in the ring and during promos.

  • A class act and I have to say one of the most inspiring figures not just of pro wrestling, but in life in general. This is a really nice thing you did here, kudos from Ireland/Northern Ireland [semantics]!

  • @BlondeJusticeLives thanks bro so let me ask you what do you think of the show Transformation Nation?

    DDP

  • @Dallapage Thanks for the reply! I don't really watch TV so I haven't actually heard of it. I feel like perhaps I should be a little embarrassed for some reason because of that, but what type of show is it?

  • @BlondeJusticeLives Weight loss hence the Transformation Nation... Ha!

  • @Dallapage Ah gotcha. I googled it and found a TV show by that name produced on Irish station RTE. Guessing it's like one of those Big Brother/Survivor/X-Factor things where every country has their own version. [This is surreal, I'm talking to DDP via YouTube. Bit of a moment for me here!]

  • @BlondeJusticeLives HA ! Transformation Nation actually started in your Country... I hear it may becoming our way. if you go to my DDP site you'll see I do a lot to help people with their weight issues... on the front page is a video of a disabled veteran I helped walk again... check that out.

  • @Dallapage Wow, I wasn't aware of that. Usually Ireland trails behind with their versions of shows that started elsewhere so that's actually kinda cool. Oh don't worry, I'm definitely going to be checking out your site anyway as I simply dig your attitude. That enthusiasm is infectious!

  • Thanks DDP for this great Tribute to Chris. We here at ACW were blessed to call Chris Kanyon a friend and were blessed to have him compete for ACW. He was a true lockeroom leader, and went out of his way to help guys on the roster. He will be missed!!!

  • WOW I wouldn't even know you. DDP rocks, RIP kanyon.

  • OMG!!! ITS DDP. I LOVE YOU DDP. You are my all time favorite wrestler EVER.

  • i miss watching ddp & kanyon wrestle together i miss the good ol days

  • its so sad that so many wrestlers are passing away at such an insane rate :( i grew up watchin wrestling as a kid in the early 80's and alot of my heros have since passed on and it realy is tragic...so sorry for your loss Dallas i realy do tip my hat to you guys who put it on the line mind body and soul day in day out to entertain us,you guys realy are the true gladiators of sports, again iam sorry for your loss x by the way you were fuckin killer in The devils rejects \m/

  • Woah man, you look a hell of alot different..

  • Wow, I didn't think you had an account on here, DDP. I just want to say that I was also surprised, and shocked when I heard about the passing of Kanyon. The first person I thought of, was you, since I knew the two of you were good friends. I'll never forget the old days with you, Kanyon, and Bam Bam Bigelow who ironically passed away a few years ago aswell. I loved Kanyon more when he did the Mortis gimmick, and thought his wrestling was simply amazing.

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 Looking back now, I think the run Kanyon had with your gimmick "mocking you" Positively Kanyon was entertaining. Haha!!! Classic!

Also, what did Kanyon think about having to take that insane bump back at Slamboree 2000 when Mike Awesome (R.IP.) tossed him off the second story cage from the match you had with Jarrett & David Arquette?

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 Yes we had fun with that PP angle and the bump was Kanyon's idea! • Dude, I remember when I was all of nine years old watching you put the Diamond Cutter on Savage, Raven, Hogan, RodZilla, etc. and now I see you dressed nicely and clean shaven while I'm finishing college and I can't help but think to myself: "Wow, I take a nap and I wake up and find out that thirteen years have passed the scene is nothing like I'm used to." Anyway, it's gnarly to hear from ya again and keep repping Jersey like always in all that you do. Best of luck and you're a hero to me.

The Diamond Cutter was killer! Definitely miss seeing you in the ring, as well as the other WCW guys.

He gave you and you gave him the diamond cutter :)

Dont know why some people just ignore how good kanyon is because he was gay

he would put a lot of wrestlers to shame in terms of talent and that is all that matters

Rip Kanyon And Rip Bam Bam Bigelow

    Jersey triad

    YRG 4 LIFE

    DDP

  • DDP your a cool guy bro, and Chris Kanyon one of my all time fav wrestlers R.I.P.

  • the cat's in the wrestler with rourke

  • you look so normal now funny how normal wrestlers are when they arn't playing their characters you see in the ring i thiink that you were one of the best characters in WCW

  • @Thunda1986 Ha! thanks bro ... I don't know about normal but I have always been a regular guys:)

  • My favorite Chris Kanyon moments were back in the WCW days where he used to run up behind people and yell Kanyon Cutter in mid-air then hit the diamond cutter. Classic!

  • @josh7982 i think that's the other way round and I think he did the death valley move

  • @Thunda1986 No! I had it right Bro he would just randomly go up to security or backstage staff, run up behind them and yell Kanyon Cutter right b4 doing the Diamond Cutter. I'm not saying that was his finishing Manuver but for a short while in WCW he did do the Kanyon Cutter. Look up Kanyon Cutter on Youtube and I promise you'll get a good laugh out of it.

  • I actually followed his career and i really got to know him in 1999 but mostly with the kanyon cutter gimmick and wcwecw vs wwf invasion angle but i liked him as himself and i miss him he was a true wrestler and did what he did well my thoughts and deepest condolences go out to him and you and his family and friends ily kanyon you were one of a kind goodbye man

  • Great tribute, Dallas.

  • very good tribute to a friend, sorry for your loss.

  • Thanks for doing that tribute Page. It would be nice if the big wrestling companies would have acknowledged his passing huh?

  • Very nice tribute Dallas, thanks for the memories Chris you'll be missed

  • Who betta than Kanyon?

  • Page looks and sounds a bit like Will Arnette, nowadays.

  • lol ddp looks stupid when he's clean shaven.

  • R.I.P we will always love u

  • nice tribute dallas, respect bro!

  • Very unfortunate, he was a good guy. I remember him from when I used to watch wrestling before.

  • i'm really sad that chris kanyon died. ddp, thank you for making this tribute to him, cause i know that kanyon will be missed forever.

  • kANYON WAS AN AWSOME WRESTLER WAS OVERLOOKED AN WOULD OF MADE WWE BETTER IF VINCE GAVE HIM THE OPERTUINTY

  • Great Tribute DDP.

Kanyon thought the world of you,and he considered you his best friend in the wrestling buisness.

He told me you actually came up with the Mortis gimmick that broke him into wCw as a midcarder which eventually kicked off his career in wCw and WWE.

I was a big fan of Kanyon's(especially Mortis)and he is the reason I became a wrestling fan to begin with.I stopped watching wrestling all together in 2002 when Kanyon was released.

    R.I.P Kanyon

    there is nobody better

  • Who better than Kanyon! RIP Chris and thank you.

  • R.I.P Kanyon.

Man, i would hate to be a wrestler. They have short lifespans.

  • Nice your doing well DDP. Sorry for the passing of your friend. Hope you both meet again. Its a get honor just to see you talking to ppl on youtube.

  • A great tribute DDP. Chris did a great job with the cruiserweights. I loved watching you two as a tag team and feud against each other. You gave Chris a farwell he truly deserved.

  • He sounds like a real class act.

  • Hey DDP...that was an awesome tribute!.. I still cant believe Chris is dead.. I just wish that whatever he was going through he would have had the willpower and self-control not to have killed himself. I feel horrible and devastated that I lost such a great friend and for the few yrs we knew eachother had such a great and crazy relationship, as friends. I wish i had been able to go to his wake as well.

I just wish that whatever he was going through he would have had the willpower and self-control not to have killed himself. I feel horrible and devastated that I lost such a great friend and for the few yrs we knew eachother had such a great and crazy relationship, as friends. I wish i had been able to go to his wake as well.

  • Praise for DDP, that couldn't have been easy to do but you really did justice to a great wrestler

  • Thanks you for that beautiful tribute DDP. R.I.P. Kanyon

  • Very informitive. To think Kanyon did so much sad he had to go so soon. =(

  • Thank you, DDP for such a sweet and fact filled tribute to Chris. May he find the peace he deserves in heaven........

  • thanks

  • RIP Chris =(

  • DDP, thank you VERY much for this. I was totally unaware of the impact Kanyon had behind the scenes at WCW as well as the likes of Billy Kidman, who I always enjoyed watching. As I said on my FB and MySpace pages, I hope Chris Kanyon will rest in peace and find the peace of mind he could never could get here with us.
