are you sure it is 10 3/4 taal? I think it is 11 1/4 taal because if you look at the ragi's hands, they are also counting 11 1/4 beats.

Its 10 3/4 matra, when counting he goes to the 11th matra on his hand but doesnt complete the 11th matra, he finishes just before at 3/4 of the way through the 11th matra. This makes it 10 3/4.

yes pinky ji is definitely amazing. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he's way in a different league. Ustad Mohan Singh ji is a disciple of pandits rajan sajan mishra ji

Ofcourse, anyone who can say they are Rajan Mishra's student must be very good. Pinkyji is a disciple of the legendary Pandit Kishan Maharaj and played with the elite of the Indian Classical circuit.

The other artists are also good (especially Balwant), but Pinkyji is extraordinary- thats why I can say it with such confidence.
