  • yup, this is in fact 10.75 beats, if each beat gets divided into 4 segments, the last ends up with 3 quarters

  • This shabad is found in the dasam granth on page 645, to get a proper understanding of the shabad, read pages 644 & 645.

    sridasam.org

  • waheguru

  • are you sure it is 10 3/4 taal? I think it is 11 1/4 taal because if you look at the ragi's hands, they are also counting 11 1/4 beats.

  • @TablaThe100

Its 10 3/4 matra, when counting he goes to the 11th matra on his hand but doesnt complete the 11th matra, he finishes just before at 3/4 of the way through the 11th matra. This makes it 10 3/4.

  • ragi balwant does sick teehai's, he is so creative at improvising

  • What is this taal called....10 3/4 time?

  • i don't think god likes murdered dude.

  • This is an amazing composition. SImple, elegant, technical and a great sound. Pinky shows his worth in this clip. Guruji's mission is to have all love and appreciate classical music.

  • Is that the Namdhari Guru Shri Jagjit Singhji seated??

Kudos to him for inspiring such a group of talented and deicated disciples.

  • @108suvarna108 Yes that is Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji who taught his disciples and kept the old tradition of Raag alive of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's.

  • shut up u milli ehmi

  • Awesome!! words cannot describe!!

  • Namdhari's sure know how to play instruments and sing

  • As is is this Bandish

  • What all of you are forgetting to mention is that all of these 'artistes' are the creation of Sri Satguru Jagjit Singhji.

  • 10 and 3/4 is quite intense and requires alot of concentrations on all ends

  • What a bandish! Can't believe this made it onto youtube

  • It's 11 and 3/4

  • its 10 and 3/4 count every beat into fours and you will see it will come at 10 and 3/4

  • Yeh, ur right. I realised that later but couldn't delete the blasted message!

  • What taal is it?

  • 11 and a half beats

  • Can you give me what are the divisions and bols of 11.5 beats?

  • pinky's playing is amazing

  • He is really cool.

But (with all respect towards Pinky Ji)

Sometimes I find his improvisations take away the other artists stage presence. Though this video is great

  • With all due respect to the other artists, Pinkyji is in a different league. Thats why he gets so much time.

  • yes pinky ji is definitely amazing. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he's way in a different league. Ustad Mohan Singh ji is a disciple of pandits rajan sajan mishra ji

  • Ofcourse, anyone who can say they are Rajan Mishra's student must be very good. Pinkyji is a disciple of the legendary Pandit Kishan Maharaj and played with the elite of the Indian Classical circuit.

The other artists are also good (especially Balwant), but Pinkyji is extraordinary- thats why I can say it with such confidence.

  • very peaceful thanks for sharing
