  • L E G E N D A R Y !!!! I was a bboy during the first wave from 80'-85'/86' and grew up in North New Jersey and listened to Red Alert on Fir, Chillout on Sat EVERY week, never missed it. Recorded them to cassettes sometimes. Boy what I would give for them tapes now! ;-) I miss these days more than ever. Wish I had a time machine!

  • This shit was Hot !! definitley one of the Greatest DJ's of all time. NY DO OR DIE. im in Florida now and the radio stations here suck big time. i went right to satellite radio at least i get some NY flavor from them.

  • I used to record Chuck and Red back in the 80's, and take the tapes down south to VA. A lot of people used to do it. Folks down south used to go crazy over it!

  • the sample on the run dmc is bob james - nautilus

  • it's dj chuck chill out and im live you understand!!!!!!! Damn i miss the oldschool!!!

  • Chuck used to always start the song over and over like 4 or 5 times. He cared nothing about you maximizing your tape space when recording. LOL!. Good times.

  • One of hip hop's mixmaster pioneers...DJ CHUCK CHILLLOUT!! You can't find shit like this on wax anymore!!

  • who didnt run to woolworth, alexanders or even caldors to get a 3 pack of 90 min cassette to record chuck on fridays and red on saturdays?....hell, back then we still had...the wiz, tower records and if yer old enuff....crazy eddie's................enurgyzed, yer da man 4 posting this

  • This was NYC at it's best!!!

  • this was he isssh for real we use to pop our tapes in the recorder and then dance to this all night over and over

  • WTF thats FLAVA FLAV talkin or I will EAT my KEYBOARD

  • i was a fiend before i became a teen....

  • As great as Chuck was when he was remixing the same song- he was terrible when it came to mixing two different songs together- A classic trade mark that always had me shaking my head. But yo, it was the best of times for hip hop and hopefully we'll find a way to get them back!

  • @jaysundawn I feel you on that. His mixing sucked. Red Alert was heads better, his Djing was untouchable. Im in Atl now and miss listening to Kiss and WBLS on Friday and Saturday nights.

  • Fresh

  • THE RINK WAS THAT SHIT ALL THE BALLERS WOW THE MEMORYs

  • LMAO You missed the best part of the hour. I have 5 or six 90 minute cassetes chuck chillout,,, even some Silva Surfer later 80's and early 90's

  • It's an r&b duet song- Does anyone know the name of this song..here are some of the lyrics...

  • He did a late night set at the Rink back in the day and he ripped it.

  • I have done radio around the globe, I got my style from sittin on the speakers of the Palladium, Tunnel, Red Zone watchin flex. And Flex got his style from CHUCK CHILLOUT. P.E.A.C.E 2 HIM.

  • Well Flex was a protege/apprentice of Chuck; when Chuck couldn't mix, Flex would do it for him. The rest is history. both are legends regardless.

  • DAMN>>I remember going to these clubs...I remeber the tunnel when it had it original train track in the back on the club.

  • ah... memories... commercial hip hop radio was sooooo goooood then...

  • Couldn't no mix shows anywhere touch Chuck Chillout or Red Alert on 98.7 KISS FM between 1986-89. All these radio stations out now bit there style. This is REAL HIP-HOP !!!

  • Yo son I love the memories. All respect due. But Chuck Chillout spun for WBLS. You might want to re-label this so you can really be offcial. otherwise, do your thing. I'm loving this.

  • Correction, son. Chuck Spun for Kiss FM back in the 80's. That's why Mr. Magic called Him "Duck Illout" during the rivalry years. Where are you from ??

  • Strong Island, where we got em wil'in.

Didn't Chuck Chillout got to 'BLS after Magic left? Wasn't he and Red competitors for a minute?

  • Yes you are right...Chuck Chillout came thier after Magic left in 89 and Marley and Pete Rock left in early 90, when Frankie Crocker who was P.D at the time wanted to turn into an Adult Contempory station it lasted a short minute until the public demand for hip hop resulted in Chuck Chillout jumping ship over to BLS, where he became a air personality while Funkmaster Flex worked the turntables, it was a damn good show ..i wish somebody recorded some, i lost all my tapes like a dumbass...

  • DONT READ THIS! In 1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after. To be saved paste this to 5 other videos. THIS TRUE

  • Thanks for the feedback Chuck Chillout is the man.

  • thats to f**kin hard

  • huh??

  • SICK!!!!

  • dam thats BADASS!!!!

  • really dope!

  • wow!! That mix really captured the golden era. Djs don't mix like that anymore. Much respect to Chuck Chillout!!

  • He didn't do all the mixin, the song is RUN D.M.C Beats to ryhme. Jam Master Jay did all the mixin & cutting.

  • The first song that is played is Microphone fiend by Eric B. and Rakim which goes into Run DMC's Beat to the Rhyme.

  • Then Chuck Chillout does his dj identification. Beats to the Rhyme is manipulated. There is so much going on in that record (sampled by Bob JAmes, original beat is Nautilus, incorporating James Brown sample (talking Loud but ain't saying nothing) Kurtis Blow count Sample from "DJ AJ", using their own past records such as "Jam Master Jay",

  • Using another James Brown 1-2-3 sample from "Funky Drummer" which goes into "Let's Dance" by Herman Kelly & Life in the track "Dance to the Drummer' Beat",

  • then using a sample from thier own record from "Rock Box" intro "Run run run D-D-D M-m-m C-c-c, and then screaming "Dick in your mouth all day!" used by comic Sam Kinison.

  • what sample jay used in Peter Piper?

  • take me to the mardi gras- By bob james

  • bob james -take me to the mardi gras

  • nah,it's "nautillus".

  • I think I got some. Lemme check. Ok.
