I prefer TMM, because I know the entire song off by heart and it cheers me up when I hear it. MMP... well, I personally think 4kids ruined it. Yes, the opening is catchy, but they kinda messed up the anime. Rearranging the episodes so nothing made sense, and losing dubbing rights at ep.23, so MMP fans, you're never gonna see the end of the storyline. I do not want to offend anyone, I simply say that MMP fans should watch TMM to see the original and COMPLETE story like it was made to be seen ;)
Have to give it to the dubbz srry people, but if 4kids can do anything right it's making a god damn catchy OP. Sure, the aren't good songs by any mean, but it's freaking catchy. Shaman King is probably the best tho.
English one: I like it. Cause I can understand it. And I watched the episodes 4kids dubbed. But yeah, I can see the heavy editing on just the OP O_o
Japanese one: The opening reminds me somewhat of MC Rainbow road, but it might just be me xD And it kinda points towards MarkXZoe... When I support DrenXZoe ^_^'

I just have to say one simple thing, Every American Dub version of an opening of an anime tends to Brighten up everything. It's always gonna be good versus evil, strong friendship, courage, cooperation, etc. in it music, big examples are pokemon english opening 1, digimon frontier, DragonBall Kai (WTH, Same song but totally change lyric). versus The japanese opening which embodies the true meaning of the anime, aka magical girls. It didn't really matter about the good Vs Evil thing.
@MewMewFanNya For some reason when I see this show, it reminded me more of a story between a master and his cat, then a show between a magical girl going for a guy. I don't know why. At least the english version didn't kill an actual song like The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. "God Knows" was a legendary song in that anime, but they freaking english lyric the whole song and play it in the English dub version of the anime. It kill it so bad, i cried trying to listen.LOL

the japanese because... i don't know how to explain it. the english just seems so... girly but the japanese is too but the eniglish doesn't really get you into it as much. it's tough to explain but the opening wasn't my main complaint for the english version. that has to be the name change i dont know why but 4kids changing their names really pissed me off. and some werent even japanese!

They didn't even use an opening, the used two clips from the opening and the rest are just zoom in and outs from the show. Bad ones at that. Pretty sad...its a good thing they where stopped and the show forceably removed from them in time.
They change the gender of some characters aswell. If the voice acter sounds a bit girlish yet the charater is ment to be a little boy, they switch it up.

jpn is better by far, its much more fitting....but one problem I have with the jpn version is........that music in the beginning is so loud, I turned up the volume to hear the english one, then the jpn one's music came out....my ears...

TOKYO MEW MEW FTW. 4Kids killed the awesomeness of what was Tokyo Mew Mew. I'm not saying that Mew Mew Power is horrible, I watched it religiously when it aired.

You know I think it may be my imagination but the last part of the song of the japanese version that goes "my sweetheart" sounds like it was used in the American Ichigo transformation, when the music closes. 4kids tends to do that sometimes I think. Not sure why they go through the work of completely remaking songs. Wouldn't it be less work to leave the songs alone and just translate or maybe translate the theme songs to English.
Yet again...another great anime ruined by cheap, kid-orientated cartoon companies. Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach were first...now Tokyo Mew Mew. What next!? KIDDY GRADE!? Oh please, no.
Indeed Tokyo Mew Mew sub is the best one. It has the original Japanese opening and ending songs in it. Plus the voices are original, and unedited. Their voices in the dub are made to sound like arrogant little brat kids. Or something like that. And that other thing you said about 4kids dubbing Kiddy Grade (not sure if you were joking about that or not). Funimaton already dubbed Kiddy Grade, so you can rest knowing that 4kids won't be dubbing that one. (:

What I'd like to see dubbed correctly is Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. If it is done amazingly and sticks to the original...I'll love it.
Yep, they ruined it. My opinion is that 4kids should only dub anime that is already aimed at kids. Anime that they won't have to censor. Cause once an anime is dubbed by 4kids, it probably won't get dubbed by another company (at least not with most anime dubbed by 4kids). People would say something like, "Oh, that anime's already been dubbed, we don't need to do a dub of it, so let's move on to some other anime." At least One Piece has an uncensored, uncut english version released by Funimation.
I prefer the English one.

My complaint is that 4kids changes the music, names, and basically rewrites the entire script instead of translating it.
The fact that none of the VAs can act doesn't help.
I don't mind English dubs usually, but 4kids needs shape up.

Japanese will always be so much better
The Japanese opening has a good melody unlike the 4kids where they're shoving teamwork down you're throat
Besides, Ichigo has a better catchphrase and attitude than Zoey =/

jpn is better by far, its much more fitting....but one problem I have with the jpn version is........that music in the beginning is so loud, I turned up the volume to hear the english one, then the jpn one's music came out....my ears...

I think both opening are very catchy, but the Japanese seems to fit the anime more, and who doesn't like the sound of Japanese girls singing? it's so cute. ^w^

japanese hand down. besides the whole first sesions in japanese. english only goes to like episode 16 before 4kids (worst dubbers in thehistory of dubbing) lost the rights to it

4kids made mew mew power for younger kids ages 6-9. i think tokyo mew mew is made is for older kids then that ages 8-13 or older.the name of english dubbed are so random and they sound bad as well as in most dubbed animes like ouran high host club or peach girl (watch peach girl and ouran if you have not and watch it in subbed) and soz for ranting but mew mew power sux and tokyo mew mew rox

You know I think it may be my imagination but the last part of the song of the japanese version that goes "my sweetheart" sounds like it was used in the American Ichigo transformation, when the music closes. 4kids tends to do that sometimes I think. Not sure why they go through the work of completely remaking songs. Wouldn't it be less work to leave the songs alone and just translate or maybe translate the theme songs to English.

Yet again...another great anime ruined by cheap, kid-orientated cartoon companies. Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach were first...now Tokyo Mew Mew. What next!? KIDDY GRADE!? Oh please, no.

Indeed Tokyo Mew Mew sub is the best one. It has the original Japanese opening and ending songs in it. Plus the voices are original, and unedited. Their voices in the dub are made to sound like arrogant little brat kids. Or something like that. And that other thing you said about 4kids dubbing Kiddy Grade (not sure if you were joking about that or not). Funimaton already dubbed Kiddy Grade, so you can rest knowing that 4kids won't be dubbing that one. (:

yes. the dubbing was like...horrible. I hated the voices.
I was simply stating that they better not ruin another anime like Kiddy Grade like they did Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, and Tokyo Mew mew. I know Kiddy Grade was done by Funimation, I love Kiddy Grade.
What I'd like to see dubbed correctly is Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. If it is done amazingly and sticks to the original...I'll love it.

Yep, they ruined it. My opinion is that 4kids should only dub anime that is already aimed at kids. Anime that they won't have to censor. Cause once an anime is dubbed by 4kids, it probably won't get dubbed by another company (at least not with most anime dubbed by 4kids). People would say something like, "Oh, that anime's already been dubbed, we don't need to do a dub of it, so let's move on to some other anime." At least One Piece has an uncensored, uncut english version released by Funimation.
