The black smoke is from UN Burned Diesel fuel and is not as clean as a car exhaust . It is unburned fuel. When tuning diesels for racing the fuel is pumped in faster than it can be burned. Computer controlled fuel injection set for emissions is clean

Regular cars produce jets of exhuast like this too, but you dont see it because your car doesnt run on diesel. Diesel trucks burn fuel more efficiently and run on far less then gasoline cars. The black smoke is just by product from burnt diesel and is less harmful then the invisible exhuast your car produces

Cars have something called catalytic converter that produce a chemical reaction in order for the gases from the exhaust not to be toxic, that's why you don't see black smoke coming out of your car. Therefore and also taking into account that this trucks have a lot more cylinders/bigger combustion chamber space, we can say that this is a lot more harmful that your car. Don't believe what anybody says, research it, then make conclusions.
