  • I broke mcl and acl for 5years ago.

i am still not improved so i am going to contact a orthopedic doctor.

because i can not sport at all and i almost don't want to put any weight on my leg.

  • I'm looking for a video showing where the pain is localized in an mcl injury. I did squats Monday and since then have pain in the side of my knee, actually just above and a little to the back (perhapsthe 'semi-membranosus'?). A few days before I was doing jumping exercises and when I came down once I felt a slight tweak in my leg above and interior to my patella (almost like the tip of my vastus medialis?).

  • @justintylerchandler I actually felt the tweaking feeling after my squat workout on Monday, but it was gone the next day. My pain seems like it could be an MCL injury, but also a muscle strain or tear. It is painful to walk, and hard to find a comfortable sleeping or sitting position too, but the pain is not unbearable. I just wish I had a better idea of where MCL pain is usually localized.

  • @justintylerchandler MCL pain is felt on the very inner side of the knee jont, neither front or back but right in the middle. It can be just above, below or level with the patella, depending on where the tear is. A good knowledge of anatomy is vital in making sure the right area is being palpated so if you are not sure go to a professional.

  • i went to the doctor cause my knee was swelled up really big the doctor did a xray and drained my knee of the fluid the fluid in it was blood what does this mean ? what have i torn

  • @DaNgErZNoEvil u really should ask ur doctor. does xray show any fracture? Since nothing being done apart from aspiration, then i think no fracture. You could have anterior or posterior cruciate tear or other structure injury. You should look out for instability, pain, recurrent swelling, and inability to fully extend your knee. Anythings appear for too long, you should go back to the doctor.

  • its a good thing she doesn't have a MCL tear while this video was made :P :D

  • well i got injure a year ago after my attemp to shoot a layup someone accidentally clip my left foot and i've landed with my right foot and my momentum is about 2 o'clock... and my right knee got swollen and numb... and after 1 day i felt the pain like there something wrong inside of it, and also i felt that i might lose control and fall to the ground

  • how would i know if it's a MCL, ACL, PCL, or LCL injury i can't treat my knees without knowing which is injured.... :D i dont have money to go to orthopedic to diagnose my injury in my knee

  • @reachwizzard If it's LCL or MCL the area of pain would indicate which is injured. MCL is on the inside of the knee and the pain would be in this area and may feel very tender to touch. Same with the LCL but on the outside of the joint.

As for ACL and PCL, they are much harder to diagnose. Generally though, if there has been a rupture of one of these ligaments the knee would have swollen considerably and would feel pretty unstable.
