  • What your'e using is a Phaser effect, It may thicken your distortion if you turn down your rate eq and boost the depth...

  • I use an AVT275. I mostly use the clean channel with lots of effects but thanks for the info about the other distortion options I'll try it out.

I agree that although some people don't rate AVTs but you can get some great sounds out of them if you spend time getting to know them.

You can get a great usable signal from the emulated line out as long as you don't have the preamp gains too high. As the gain gets higher the signal gets thin and brittle but down around 12 o'clock it's sweet as.

  • The overdrive is killer on this amp...can't be compared

  • @akdomun UHH, get an amp with tubes in it. Not Toys R Us tubes.

    Real ones. Go on craigslist.

  • @rytaco I agree tubes are the kings of distortion and tone, but personal preference also matters sometimes. I know tubes, but I like this heavy distortion, just like Chuck Schuldiner did. No need to start an amp war bro :) peace and rock hard \m/

  • @akdomun Sorry man. I'm on a mesa powertrip right now lol. It's all good.

  • @rytaco haha it's cool man, I know what u mean ;) Enjoy it and post some demos if u can! \m/

  • @akdomun it can be... jcm 800 or an old mesa. This is toys r us city

  • Had my AVT-100 almost 9 years and love it to bits. Great sounding and very versatile amp. Was playing some JCM's in my local practise studio but despite them being full valve amps they just don't sound as good as the AVT imo. May upset the purists but guess it's down to opinion!

  • sorry guys,

from which song is the riff at 03:48??

  • @VARETHIKAMALAKES cementary gates dude

  • @A53R0 Thanks a lot!!!!!

  • can i use my AVT100 to drive a 1960A 4*12 cabinet?

    would they work together?

i know it has a line out in the back of it and im thinking about getting the extension cabinet but not sure if its compatible with this cmbo amp, anybody knows?

  • DAMN IT!! and i tought only i knew this trick

  • thats a class overdrive sound

  • What model is that exactly? It has a nice sound. How many preamp tubes if any does it have?

  • @zbaby82 It's got only one preamp tube and the uses a solid state power section, it's a hybrid amp which sounds like no other!

  • i used to have this amp now i suck dick for quarters

  • great video. whats your guitar ?gibson les paul?

  • @utqyy no its a ltd ec 400

  • hi, why do you say that people dont usually like this amp?

  • I've got the same amp... i like it alot...

i don't know why some people don't like it...

  • Broodkill, I realized the same with my old AVT150 (2000 series) combo some time ago ;) In fact, I used to use the "delay" trick for a medium boost playing in my band, and the "flanger" trick for recording at home.

Nice and very underrated amp. My only complain is about the power amp section, and just playing loud. It cuts through the mix... well, like a transistor powered amp. Try putting the effect loop send into the effect loop return of a tube amp and the AVT will sing ;)

  • clean your living room

  • @dmstyres whats dirty about it...a blanket on the floor and an xbox 360 with some games?

  • @Broodkill yee man. whats wrong with that dmstyres.. ya fucking clean freak. calm down. your supposed to be seeing what his trick is, not complaining about his room. and yeah rlly its not dirty a blanket and xbox games like what broodkill said. and xbox 360 is ftw. f tha ps3

  • yeah this amp is great my dad refuse to buy it to me cus he said vox are better, and he got me a vox valvetronix vt50, its good but i think it doesnt have this kind of overdrive which i FUCKING LOVE!!!!!! how much did it cost?

    Cemetary gates!

  • they have them cheap on ebay...dude..this amps distortion is just amazing. If you want that classic rock tone or a heavy punching tone its just great. This one has a texas heat speaker in it though.

  • @Broodkill I agree..there is something about marshalls distortion sound..its such a great tone which I cant get with distortion pedals or the metal muff...only thing I cant find is a marshall with good low end,,,they ALL seem to have a louosey bass response....al had that marshall tone though but lack of bass....hows this one...sound lovely...

  • i want 5 minutes of my life back please

  • no refunds

  • the sound is actually changed..the distortiob IS changed its no gimmick.

  • when did u bought this amp???

  • i have the same amp and it sounds awesome on the clean channel with the bright button pressed in and using a Digitech TL2.

  • Slap a metal master in front of the clean and oooohhhh ahhhhhhh....

  • wow lol, i wonder if the new AVTs does this, i think its just flanger that makes a difference in sound, in my boss me-x i use flanger with no depth or rate like u did for soloing, lets the notes ring better, sort of like a compressor
