i am just awestruck. Growing up during the cold war, I was fascinated with the mysterious, and NOTHING was more mysterious back then than the iron curtain. To see this tech now I just love it. Both engine and gearbox were changed. Plus all prop-shafts balanced. Diesel engine gives much more torque at lower revs, so much quicker acceleration. The truck weighs 9.75 tonnes all of the time. The V8 petrol engine gave approximately 4MPG, but was totally underpowered for this weight. Plus the zil clutch is very small, and I changed it twice before modification. The new clutch is at least twice the size and ceramic type..

The Cummins B with intercooler gives approx 12MPG.
