Dude, there haven't been very many songs as good as this one, so the poster is correct. Real soulful R&B died with the end of the 80's and the confusion between hip hop/rap, and ghetto r&b has blurred the line between crap and shit and that's about all there is left.

I agree, most songs on the charts these days cater mainly to the physical or sexual. One night stand songs. It seems as if that's how long they last too. One day it's hot, next day it's not. Even the songs that do cover deeper emotions or character seems to always be missing something. Seems as if it used to be quality over quantity, and nowadays it's quantity over quality.

@bgsmainaccount yea, I agree. No disrespect to hip hop in general...but once it came to fruition, everything else that was worth a shit, vanished. And we cant blame rappers, per say...but I do think a lot of the blame lies with record company execs who really only persued the money thats attached to most things related to hip hop be them rap, videos, clothes, beverages, etc. They stopped caring about artistic value and jumped on the Money Train. Its really a shame. Music aint what it was.
