I read the Pet Avengers book, and can see how it was a welcome break from Dark Avengers for you guys (I don't read that), but I wasn't that excited by these Pets. Lockheed's drama about Kitty being dead felt melodramatic and didn't connect with me because these characters are dying and being resurrected all the time, I can't keep track. Death doesn't mean much to me in a Marvel comic. Sure, it was light and breezy, but at the end I didn't feel like my day had been improved by having read it.
yeah that Pet Avengers looks like its done very well.. i think Marvel knows about this type of style of comics that I for one enjoy - but it seems as though people are still getting a ZinG out of this Soap Opra stuff for the mean while. (personally i like this type -mixed with some gritt - but gritt in the action, not the language. )
so stupid the way they are expanding the M.U> by making everyhting the same but a second generation....errrr
This sounds like one of those surprise seems-like-a-joke-but-is-actually-a-great-fun-book like Marvel Apes was for me last year. I'll probably pick it up.
wow, i didn't think anybody bought Pet Avengers, and to hear that it was actually good is even more shocking. Speaking of shocking, how terrible was BFTC #3! I purposely bought that piece of dog vomit just so i could revel in Jose's thrashing of one of the worst comics I've read all year. You had better make it worth my $3.99! I'm sure you will, can't wait.
I know why did they kill Bruce! It makes no sense! It's like killing off Spider-Man and replacing him with daredevil or something! Batman is Bruce Wayne not a circus acrobat!
you know, I was pretty pissed that they killed Bruce too (though I'm sure he wont be gone for too long), but the real problem with BFTC is Tony Daniel. Because when you think about it, this situation is almost an exact rip-off of what marvel did with Cap. Only difference is that Brubaker was writing Cap and he made it work, where as Daniel just gave us three shitty issues to impose a new Batman. Hopefully the Batman titles wont be as bad as this until Bruce returns.
Are you talking to pobra, johnny? Because the way I see it he actually bought a copy of the comic so I think he has every right to bitch about what a fucking piece of shit it was. It's not like he's just talking out of his ass without reading it.
Needless to say you probably will think I'm bitching in my review of it next week.
I'm not bitching about Batman. I'm bitching about editorial and fucking Tony Daniel. I hated the ending of R.I.P. and I hate everything about Battle for the Cowl (which doesn't even have Batman in it!).
That being said, I've already come out and said I am really looking forward to most of the Bat family books that are coming out next month just like locus stated.
Batman is completely being shit on by DC and I think that's who you should be frustrated with. Just my opinion though.
Dude if & when this book goes to trade I'm buying it and passing it along to my kid (When he learns to read) This & Marvel's Wizard of Oz simply excellent great for kids.
Fin Fang Four Returns was great as well, Roger Langridges cartoony style really fits the stories so well.
You should check out Dark Reigning Cats and Dogs by Chris Eliopoulos and I think Brad Anderson as well....it reminded me a lot of comics like the Beano and the Dandy that we have here.
I'm not sure all the Dark Young Avengers have that 'scene' idea, it seems only this Coat of Arms character does. She looks like she has some sort of scheme up her multiple sleeves
wow, I thought I was only one of the people that liked this:P I thought it was awesome, I have to put it on my blog review, I'm so far behind...blah. Glad to see you guys review it ...so much fun to read. Bought a copy for a younger cousin.
hey there watched where you were talking about horror movies and behind the mask was an awesome movie and smartly done. Its nice to see a horror movie nicely done and not a rehash or crappy teen movie or remake that does not need to be done.

I did buy it, Jose. Look, i'm just tired of everyone bitching about Batman, ok.
johnnyhorror92182 2 years ago
People are not bitching about batman, people are bitching about Battle for the Cowl and what a horrible book it its, and it is a terrible book imo.
I for one am looking forward to Gotham City Sirens, Detective Comics and Morrison and Quitely on Batman and Robin in the next few months.
