  • Simon I have been watching your videos for about 6 months, which is only as long as I've been potting, and will continue to do so!!! Your work and advice continue to inspire and I rewatch videos for extra help. Thanks so much for doing what you do, and sharing it with us, too!!

  • mmm, that white slips just looks so yummy.

  • love the advice towards the end. and i needs to make me some homemade brushes.

  • The Hakeme brushes are a brilliant idea!

  • simon. you always bring up a very good point.

  • Where did you get the trimming tool you are using?

  • Awesome!!! One of my favorites.

When I cook, I like to say that the food has freedom of self-expression. I really like the boldness - gives the pots freedom of self-expression.

Do you see any problem with using a bone dry, or leather hard chuck - vs. a biscuit chuck?

  • Simon,

You do brilliant videos.Thank you so so much for sharing, please keep up with the videos!! and giving us those tips!! Fantastic.

  • Thank you , will do ..SL

  • Hi Simon!

I really enjoy your videos on youtube! And have learned so much. The studio looks great and I love the addition of the porch to your property. Say hi to Katherine for me and give my regards to your "neighbor" Seth for me as well.

    Warmest regards,

    Beth USA

  • One way to be child-like is to work in your studio with a child. I am lucky enough to have a six-year old in my life. She comes in the studio every now and again. I don't try to "teach" her, just give her basic guidence. She is so free, so non-judgemental in her work. She takes joy in the process as well as the product. I have learned a lot from her. Thank you Simon for all you share with us.

  • Simon,

Fantastic! I think that's the best clip I've seen on youtube ever! Thanks so much.

I'll be outside clipping grass for the rest of my life now.

    Cheers, Andrew.

  • Great video Simon. I hope you will show the fired result. Also could you explain how to make the slip you are using?

    Thanks

  • Hi Jack

white slip - 50/50 % china clay / buff coloured stoneware ball clay .

Ordinary ballclay will do the job. SL
