Simon I have been watching your videos for about 6 months, which is only as long as I've been potting, and will continue to do so!!! Your work and advice continue to inspire and I rewatch videos for extra help. Thanks so much for doing what you do, and sharing it with us, too!!
I really enjoy your videos on youtube! And have learned so much. The studio looks great and I love the addition of the porch to your property. Say hi to Katherine for me and give my regards to your "neighbor" Seth for me as well.
One way to be child-like is to work in your studio with a child. I am lucky enough to have a six-year old in my life. She comes in the studio every now and again. I don't try to "teach" her, just give her basic guidence. She is so free, so non-judgemental in her work. She takes joy in the process as well as the product. I have learned a lot from her. Thank you Simon for all you share with us.
hey simon, do you ever find the inside curve (where the walls meet the bottom), tend to slump and don't maintain their continuos curve when you trim on the wet side?

Awesome!!! One of my favorites.
When I cook, I like to say that the food has freedom of self-expression. I really like the boldness - gives the pots freedom of self-expression.
Do you see any problem with using a bone dry, or leather hard chuck - vs. a biscuit chuck?

white slip - 50/50 % china clay / buff coloured stoneware ball clay .
Ordinary ballclay will do the job. SL
