Another multiplex muzak tune from an artist whose first three cds I actually played so much they're ruined. This sounds as bad as that Why Can't I--perhaps worse. I do NOT want to hear about maturity, so save it. Other artists mature and their musical sense and their wit don't disappear. Either she's on prozac or she did these songs on a dare or she was labotomized or she was just plain broke. But, I absolutely refuse to believe that this music is a testament to anyone's maturity. You know, a lot of Liz's supposed "fans" have accused her of "going mellow" or "selling out" and I think that's ridiculous. What sort of artist would she be if she was doing the exact same thing she did with "Exile in Guyville?" Artists grow up, and that's what Liz did. She married, became a mother, went through a bad divorce. Life experiences color your perception, alter your priorities. Liz has grown up, it's about time some of her fans did the same. I've always loved Liz and always will.
