This is simply and utterly breathtaking. If you have ever been in love you will understand, the mood, words and sentiment. Stunning. Melancholic. You listen to this song and you are transported to that person and place and are left irrevocably moved. Very few songs can do that. This does. Hurrah for peace! Down with Gadaffi! Free Libya!
I've seen this song performed live 3 times, and each time it gets better and better. It's my all time favourite guillemots song- the theramin gives that weird whale song and then theres Fyfe's voice. Bloody brilliant!!
sorry to be foul mouthed, but fucking great song, makes me tingle inside, not many songs have this magic, came across band by accident ,i know why i love music with songs like this
i agree ,stunning, its a nerve every time in car ,home ,radio anywhere so glad people can be still arsed to make great music,,,when everything as a label or badge ,thanks long live music........
how can u guys say this doesn't do the song justice, if u were there that guitar would be creating an atmosphere that wud cut straight through your soul
The album version is beautiful. A friend of mine requested it as his funeral in January, and it was the saddest thing ever - he was only 26. I can't hear it now without thinking of him. But what a song to go out on.....
I agree! The album version is one of the most beautiful things ever made. They try too hard to make the atmosphere by adding weird noises here. I think it would work better even more stripped down live.
This song should've been played as the Titantic sank.

Kinda song I can immagine Jeff Buckley covering if he was still alive today. Beautiful.

the album version really is the most beautiful thing.

I think I agree w/you.. NOT diggin' what the guitar playa is doin' here...this is a fine
example of how NOT to accompany a singer..he is too concerned w/ being ambient & strange,
and not enough w/ makin' the song sound good.

I love this song, but I don't think this performance does it justice.
