  • @6rapha SOULIVE AND LETTUCE!!!!!! dudes are new, young, and tearing it up. Lettuce's album rage is SIIIIICK

  • @robbiesoho Oh man those guys are spectacular! In my ears they are the best new funk bands in music! Rage is a fantastic album, so simple and so well thought out! I have been listening it non stop in my car for 4 weeks now!!!

  • @robbiesoho lettuce's rage is one of the jazz/funk best albums i've heard in a while

  • That drummer...plays lefty...really well. What is this I don't even

  • Hell Maceo you gotta be kin to Charlie "Bird" Parker (<:

  • Ha, he might be playing funk but you can hear Cannonball Adderley's influence screaming from Maceo! Funkiest man alive, hope he does this forever.

  • juhu bin so einsam und gelangweilt möchte sanft gekrault werden hab auch bilder

  • WTH We Need fred for this, this guy cold but Fred is on a whole other level.

  • I would love to hear Boney James and Maceo jam together

  • Maceo is one of the reasons that i love saxophone playing so much, the highblowing abbilitys of the trompetplayer are out of this universe as well, love it !!!!

  • Fantastic funk! I remember the concert in Moscow. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

That rapper is great. I thought I didn't like rap...

  • @Frisbieinstein Because that rap was like any good Jazz; fresh and steaming hot.

  • I hope the drummer is enjoying the gig! He plays beautifully, but does not move much, huh? ;-)

  • @fiegenfiegen That's Jamal (JT) Thomas on drums, I got to hang out and party with him years ago. One of the most rock solid live players in the funk. that's why Maceo keeps him around

  • @JonnyLikesPie Jamal Thomas. Smashing. Thank you so much for the information! Indeed, beautiful playing and dynamics! This is the kind of people you can't help admiring.

  • Who's on trombone here?

I cruise the ferry with no ordinary Tom, Dick, or Don

  • THIS IS FUNK!!!!

  • We Miss Fred!

  • And pee wee Ellis!!!!!

  • I have been cooking and cleaning and dancing and straight having a great time. I feel so good!

  • maceo's a great player but the best part about him is his swagger on that horn. sooooo much style that is rare these days

  • Wow, I was groovin' to this while cleaning my apartment. The rooms got in shape and so did I!

But why wear suits and ties? It must be boiling!

That trumpet is awesome! Wonder if he played on the Flintstones episode as "Hotlips".

  • Will Bouleware is the man on keys.Oh yeah!

  • As stated previously, the band is tight. The trumpet player was sharp and crisp. Corey the Rapper, Maceo's son, really took the song to another dimension with his "old school Uptown style" rap. Rappers have different styles and Corey's style is the old Bronx/Harlem style of rap. Kudos!

  • Utrecht, 16 oct.

I'll be there. this is sick.

  • This is a great show. The band is tight. Jamal Thomas, the drummer, has a wicked left hand. Those 16th notes on the ride and the hi hat are crisp. The rapper showed that there's a place for Rap after all.

  • maceo s band is FUNK!

  • he's playing a selmer

  • i listen to this song since i m 6 years old, thats more than 10 years now, and i still love it. before 4 years i was on a concert in germany,....man... i cant describe the feeling after this concert, i was just smiling all the time.

  • Dude. Check out almost anything by James Brown, especially the "JB's" stuff plus lots of Parliament Funkadelic stuff. There are loads of clips on here of Maceo and Fred playing together. Both were band leaders for James Brown and have done sooo much stuff together. You've got some good listening experiences to come...

  • Greg Boyer on trombone

  • Trombone? The one and only Greg Boyer. Man has perfect pitch...real deal...sat next to him in college for years...cool dude. JG

  • I would like to play with him. he gets high on that damn horn. I'll get to that stage. that was three octaves above the staff. SHIT!!!! LOL. LOL

  • love this one even more. The Jazzy input enriches his sound

  • I think the trombone player is Fred Wesley from the George Clinton P-Funk Horny Horns.

  • that guy is waay too young to be fred wesley

  • who knows the trumpet and amazing trombone player ? heavy guys bloody hell

  • As noted above, it's Greg Boyer on the trombone. The trumpet player is the amazing Ron Tooley. It's like watching James Earl Jones blow the horn.

  • thenks very much

  • Trumpet player is Ron Tooley who played a lot with Jaco Pastorius in the eighties.
