@softcelltainted22 I agree with you completely! I adore this movie, it satisfies my soul. The acting from everyone is just outstanding, and .......some people are souless heartless dweebs here!
Thanks for posting this fantastic clip.Favourite movie of all time.Ava Gardner was the most beautiful and sensous actress of all time in my book.Great to see the clip with Burton.xx
If you understand Ava her background, the sensuality and the whole mores of a single women with cabana boys, this demonstrates another role for Burton and Ava that pushed boundaries of common sensibilities of the time.
This is such a luscious movie, and so wonderful, it's just a joy. The dialogue, as usual with Burton is rich, full fun, sarcastic and cutting. He puts on total Welsh attitude bravado and confidence, with a slickness. He wears his soul on his sleeve.
FYI I've changed the settings on this video to allow comments only with approval. Regrettably I don't think I can delete the idiotic, homophobic, insensibly angry ones that were posted months ago, but at least there won't be any more.
Richard Burton is the best He is an amazing. But I don't why some haters on here are calling him racist or bisexual. Either you are DUMB or just hate him for no reason. If you dont like Richard why you watching this then......
@JuanMacready You just dont know good movies when you see them. And I dont know why you calling Burton talentless and bisexual for. Some say that Laurence Olivier was bisexual. Anyway it doesn't even matter if they were bisexual or not.
this is one of my favourite movies ever. top 5 and all that good stuff. but you know what i truly hate about this film?.. Richard Burton was not nominated for his performance. in 1964 he gave three of the strongest performances i have ever seen... this at the top of the heap, and wtf was he nominated for? beckett.
seriously? that's why he never won an oscar. they nominated him for the wrong goddamn movie this year. if they had given him the nod for this, he woulda nabbed it for sure.
Ah Richard and Ava two legends I would have loved to have met. Both are awsome in this.

I love Ava's laugh at 0:18.
This film is incredible. Tennessee William's works are always very luscious and smoldering. I love Richard Burton and Deborah Kerr's scenes together.
Very meaningful and symbolic.

This is the best film of a Williams play ever made. It is more than just an adaptation. In some ways, it works better than the play itself.

@happiihoneii You'd be surprised how many handsome actors are bisexual. Only a cro-magnon would be shocked at this.

Why do the cabana boys shake maracas?
Does she sleep with both of them in the film?

@softcelltainted22 It was a joke nominating the racist Burton at all. He only copied Olivier anyway.

@softcelltainted22 Olivier was certainly far better than the talentless overacting ham Burton.
