  • First of all, it is not certain that this come from Greece. The first known artist was indeed a Greek, but the origins is not known. I am Greek but I'm tired of the "give me a word and I will tell you how it is Greek" mentality. This is the reason why no one takes us seriously. This isn't the only thing that we don't know exactly the origins of there are so many things that are still unknown. The main reason for all this was the oppression from our neighbors to the east, so its understandable.

  • BEST...SONG...EVER! That guitar is awesome! everything is awesome!

  • @tps6slash black eyed peas is a copy ... XD a original song is the best for ever!

  • @Rossmancer you're an idiot.

  • I love this. You can definetly hear it's influence in heavy metal. The tremelo picking.

  • I hate VEVO, taking all the good musics thunder

  • try song na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na

  • Hahaha, having on account the comments some idiots have dropped around here about Dale's coppying the Black Eyed Peas (lol), it looks that Dick Dale must have been the real Marty Mcfly

  • I have an idea. Lets just not mention those horrible rappers on this video. Ok?

  • THis band copied aband caled the black eye peas. Stupd jrks

  • @Rossmancer not its the other way around

  • @Rossmancer

    No... no they didnt.

  • @Rossmancer First, they aren't a band since all of them aren't known to play instruments when they perform. Second, this version was first performed in 1963, some , or none of the B.E.P. were born by then. And, I don't believe they ever gave Dale credit to using this on their song.

You need to brush up on your music history if you'd ever want to say mindless shit like that ever again.

  • @starfalco13 NO THEY COPDE BLACK EYED PEES. GOOGLE IT, youD be surprized

  • @Rossmancer lol, I just did, none of the results state that Dale copied of them or have efficient evidence of him doing so.

    You trolling, bro?

  • @starfalco13 Yes. I'm sorry. It was my first experimentation with trolling. I won't do it again. I can't stand the black eyed peas.

  • @Rossmancer lol, it's ok. It's always fun trolling the first time.

  • @Rossmancer gud joke...

  • @Rossmancer Your a fucking retard if you actually believe what you just said.

Dick Dale was around WAY before BEP was ever around and theres even a top rated comment giving a full histrical run down of how this version came to be, and THAT ONE is factual.

    You are a troll.

  • @BlackenedThorn NO WAYYYY. Blck eyed pees were out when I was like 5 years old. I've never heard of this del-tones band. I'm Know A-LOT about music. Trst m e.

  • @Rossmancer The fox in your profile picture made me laugh.

  • @Rossmancer Read the top comment dude

  • @Rossmancer I.. I um... Just promise me you won't reproduce? Please? I don't the world to end because of your children.

  • @goodguitaristatmetal I gotta feelin............

  • @Rossmancer retarded much?

  • @Rossmancer I would get angry at you.But lots of people have beat me to it.

  • @JLWind3 Actually that`s the right action, ignoring him. He`s a troll, not someone who actually belives that -- he`s just playing stupid to bait you into wasting your time as he has too much on his hands and nothing better to do

  • Don't try to play this with power chords. you will bleed. alot.

  • does he look like a bitch?

  • Agent Orange do an excellent cover of this song.

  • And what about this one "Staniša Stošić - Vranjanka"?

  • This is Greek!!! (hitzatz way)

  • best surfing music EVER !!

  • Its awsome and it s GREEK!!!!

  • The song was first played by Greek rembetiko musician Mihalis Patrinos in 1927, in Athens (where "rembetiko" is a genre of music played by Greeks from Asia Minor).

Patrinos recorded in New York in 1931.

In 1941 Greek American musician Nick Roumbanis recorded an instrumnetal jazz version of it.

In 1960s, Dick Dale took the challenge suggested by a fan in the audience to play a whole song on one string and there, you have this version.

The amazing journey of Misirlou in history, my friends :)

  • @ElizaMogha para polu kalh istorikh anadromi tou komatiou!!!

  • the black eyed peas kinda did what dick dale did, he didnt come up with this 100%, he basically "sampled" from a traditional greek song, just people using something and putting their own twist on it. saying that, i still hate the black eyed peas for reasons other than using this.

  • Black Eyed Peas is Cracked!!!!!

  • It's called fucking sampling you cunts, stop crying

  • @CannibalWhirm Sampling, right? You are such a fucktard!! Just call it what it is, stealing...

  • 'Dick' Dale... Insulting name ;p

  • @kingtut23456 its Turkish for Egyptian girl, it has nothing to do with Christianity

  • Best Mexican song? Your very dumb. It is an old Egyptian/Christian song that Dick 'modified'

  • I thought it said "Dick Sale" at first...

  • Step 1. Get in Car

    Step 2. Turn on Car

    Step 3. Play this song

Step 4. Drive really fast and feel like a bad ass

  • black eyes peas copied this song or its just me ???pump it ????

  • @zazounounet What does Marcellus Wallace look like?

(your ignorance is rewarded with Pulp Fiction trolling)

  • black eyes peas copied this song or its just me ???

  • @zazounounet It's called a sample, fool.

  • Well... Took the tune, and made it into a song with lyrics. They didn't 'copy' it. Because if a very serious law called... COPYRIGHT.

  • come on guys, just read what wikipedia writes about the song! The song is greek and has lyrics. And if i ask my grandma who is 90 years old to sing it,she will! If you listen misirlou played by mpouzouki ,you ll see that surf guitar and the sound of mpouzouki look like very much. just search for Manolis Chiotis,a player of mpouzouki for whom Jim Hendrix said that he was the best player of stringed music instument of the world!

  • @TheFairytale29 Patriotism much?

  • apla gamato!!! to vgazw kai se ki9ara kai se drums!!! ta spaei!!

  • @catcatcat331

sampling is different than copying you dumbass. don't get wrong, i hate the black peas just as much as the next guy but artists sample from each other all the time. it should be considered flattering more than anything.

  • @fuckpropagandabuster i dont mind sampling, but always thought the origional artist should get their name credited, like wen the song is on MTV and they show the artists name at the end of the video. i.e Pump It by Black eyed peas ..

    ..Sample Misirlou by Dick Dale
