Did you fiberglass the pepakura model after applying the bondo? If so how did you do it? Fist applying a layer of resin on the outside and then put fiberglass cloth in the inside? Or how did you achive that smooth look?
HEY KIDS here's a trick to get the right mix on your bondo. take a glob out of the can and put it on the board then form it into a circle. let it relax then take the hardener and make a line across the middle of the circle Not too fat or thing But about 1/8 of an inch wide . That should give you a nice pink NOT RED mix then use it up quickly . It should set up in about 15 minutes . If you make it red you will have a pile of crap sooner than you can spread it. Too grey and it won't set up.
not to be a pussy or anything, but you should really use a respirator. on the side of the can it says that the bondo can give you cancer or birth defects. sick helmet though, right now im about to bondo my recon helmet.
@maverick4200ts YEP The bondo coantains some very volitile chemicals that cause a heat reaction when mixed with the hardener .they will give you lung problems for the rest of your life. You will get a wheeze and a hack I know I have 25 years of playing with the stuff.
I'm just wondering are you using the pepakura method..I've seen it done but its in the bondo that makes the armor look thicker..or is it multiple layers of fiber glass..I'm in teh process of making my own armor and i dont want it to look paper thin..T.T
@betterthanthehalokid lol i know that was a FAIRLY old post..since then I've gotten pepakura and made a few of my own...is the bondo and gets me though..it dries so quickly...

When trying to round and smooth the top, you should apply a pretty generous amount of bondo.

@KittenKagome01 he used pepakura, and its generally the combo of fiberglass on inside and bondo on the outside that makes the armor look thick
