You think thats bad, my one is next to dead....my computer doesnt even think anthing is there and the ONLY screen I can get it to come up with is the charching screen(while it decides to become a radiator), its a complete kernal and OS failuer (I got the gist of that from the error messages) and apple cant be bothered to actually repair it, they siad: "there's nothing wrond with it".... within 1 week I got 3 serious error messages!

my ipod touch 8 gb has a screen that has a picture of a usb pointing to the itunes logo. i can shut the power down but it says the same thing.itunes is popped up and it's not regestering that my ipod touch is pluugeed in. Help!!?!
whell what yu have to do is hol down the power botton and he home button then when it gose blank reles the powere but still hold the home and then while you r holing the homebotton plug i into ur compute via th usb cable then the itunes on ur computer should pop u and there should be a sign on ur touch that has what it looks like to be a usb cable pointing to the itunes logo then it willlet u restore bu firt it will downoad stuff and it will say downloading firmware
i know how to fix it. I had the same problem because i jailbroke my ipod and it got screwed up. What you have to do is hold the home button while putting in your ipod into itunes. it should restart. everything is gone but hey, you have your ipod back ready to sync
when you jailbroke 1.1.1 did you install oktoprep from the installer? because it worked for me and i had to do it twice cuz i screwed mine up. try getting a frinds ipod touch and copy everything he has on his ipod and try it it should do the trick. download total comander and the teepot plugin so you can coppy everything using usb. good luck

hold home and sleep till it turns off then turn it back on. you put it in recovery mode and that is how to take it out.

just put it in recovery mode,
hold the home and power button then let go of the power button after the apple logo pops up.

ok hold the power and the home button for ages- like 15-20 seconds, then try charging it then try plugging into your computer and sync with itunes.
