This video should be called "Destroying Sleeves With Shuffling". i have sleeves that are 10+ years old not one of them are damaged. my friends shuffle like this and they're always needing to replace sleeves. once you break 6 sleeves from an 80 sleeve set you need to replace the whole set... if you wanna toss $20 a year just so you can shuffle like this... have at it.

Prob is you do that in front of a judge and you'l get cautioned. you can see your cards as you shuffle, better to point the deck away from you!

Why don't you just do a standard riffle, but from the sides instead of from the top? I mix riffle (without bridging) with stripping (moving a small group of cards from top to bottom) and can do seven riffle/strip combos in less than 30 seconds, which is enough to randomize a 60-card deck without causing damage to sleeves. (I have sleeves that are still usable after 11 years of use.)

Cool, but i find that doing this will often bend teh corners of sleeves, or that it will seperate the 'sleeve' from the artistic background. i prefer to do the typical FFFFFFT! fast shuffle and a few piles of 15 shuffles. what works works though! :]

I use the method in the video and it wears your sleeves out faster than pile shuffling. However, pile shuffling is generally considered to be noobish and the deck isn't sufficiently randomized. Bride shuffling is more likely to damage the cards and so unless you're super rich I'd avoid it. So the brand of sleeves you use is important. The guys I play with use Dragon Shield for high level events and either Dragon Shield or Ultra Pro for general play.

I have to agree...that this video is somewhat odd, to say the least. A person who sees the video's title, imagines something like "hm, probably some unusual way of shuffling. might be fun", but then gets this basic shuffle video. Theres a few better ways to shuffle with sleeves though. The way shown just deteriorates the sleeves faster, imo.
