In 2009, though, Peter Furler left the band because he felt God was calling him to do other stuff. He was replaced with Michael Tait of dcTalk and is still heavily involved in the bands music. Look up "Newsboys - Born Again" if you want to hear their new stuff, it's pretty awesome.
Born Again came on the radio the other day, and I asked my mom if she knew who sings the song. She thought a second and said "DC Talk"-- I turned to her and said "I rest my case."
I love Michael Tait, but Newsboys aren't Newsboys when DC Talk is singing the lyrics. I love original Newsboys, and I was just getting into their more polished style with the obvious UK/international influences.

Its not all about the members of the band guys, actually its nothing about them. They would probably agree with that too, they sing to bring glory to God not themselves. So no matter the line up it won't matter because they will still be lifting it all up to God.

@courtneybirchfield Do you miss the original newsboys or the most widely known line up? The "step up to the microphone" line up is probably the most widely known. As well as being the current line up when I was into them. But the original line up had Peter Furler as the drummer, John James as the singer and some guy I've never heard of as the bassist! And as far as I know "take me to your leader" was the last album made with John James. But I honestly can't tell the difference from Furler.

Lastly, it is NOT my commentary that "scares" new believers away. And people don't want to be saved because they are inherited sinful and wicked. It's only by God's grace any is redeemed.

Nothing in this video is any more 'carnal' than brushing your teeth in the morning, driving to work, or playing hopscotch.
In fact, the overarching theme of this video is extremely Christian, as are the lyrics, even if it is a bit silly looking at first. There is nothing to indicate that they have 'bad fruit' either, if we go by what the Bible says, and not our own personal opinions or spoon-fed church dogma.

That Calvinist drivel is the furthest thing from doctrinally solid Christianity as one can possibly get, while still claiming belief in the Bible.
The TULIP is not supported by scripture, nor was it taught by the early church. Like so many heresies of history, Calvinism is the product of a handful of ignorant men in positions of power, who brandished the threat of execution to anyone who dared go against them. It gets debunked all the time. I do it often.

@lilwayneluva2003a For the most part, yes. They still have Duncan on drums, Jody on guitar, and Frankenstein on keyboard. In 2009, though, Peter Furler left the band because he felt God was calling him to do other stuff. He was replaced with Michael Tait of dcTalk and is still heavily involved in the bands music. Look up "Newsboys - Born Again" if you want to hear their new stuff, it's pretty awesome.

Born Again came on the radio the other day, and I asked my mom if she knew who sings the song. She thought a second and said "DC Talk"-- I turned to her and said "I rest my case."
I love Michael Tait, but Newsboys aren't Newsboys when DC Talk is singing the lyrics. I love original Newsboys, and I was just getting into their more polished style with the obvious UK/international influences.

I love to see this song done in concert again, along with a bunch of other songs from the LLD album. This particular album has got to be the most underrated album that they've ever done. It's better than the stuff that the "new" NB is coming out with now. :(

@courtneybirchfield Do you miss the original newsboys or the most widely known line up? The "step up to the microphone" line up is probably the most widely known. As well as being the current line up when I was into them. But the original line up had Peter Furler as the drummer, John James as the singer and some guy I've never heard of as the bassist! And as far as I know "take me to your leader" was the last album made with John James. But I honestly can't tell the difference from Furler.
