After it is activated the symbol should be on his right hand (thats where charles geass mark was) but we couldnt see it because it was covered with blood. Also R2 is the same as RR which in japanese is L.L-Lelouch Lamperouge.Nanaly touched him and saw his memories so he's just like C.C.

@silver3981 while very true and has a case of being sentimental, you should know that code geass is a show that likes to add different twists and angles. for an while we thought Nunnally died, we also never thought Lelouch would plan his own death either til it happend. People are still debating if he took Charles Code or not so my theory of him setting a contract isn't too far of a stretch. his order to Suzaku could may as well been his terms of the contract.

The creator said the name "Lelouch vi Britannia" is dead. Like how C2 discarded her name, so did Lelouch. Also, Japanese does not have the letter "L", they use the letter "R" to replace it. Hence the name Code Geass "R2" (C2 and V2). Also, look at the pink crane at the very last scene of the series, it is the SAME pink crane Nunnally gave to Lelouch during season 1 Episode 3. Only Lelouch had it. His promise was when she can see, he will make the world a "nicer place". And he did. Perfect ending

People who think Lelouche is still alive are just desperately wanting him alive, evaluating the "evidence" one-sided. There is nothing substantial, we don't know if he attained immortality in world of C, so that's voided as evidence. Secondly, the ending can't even be counted as proof because the cart driver is displayed as an anonymous character, hell it could Naruto for all we know.
i like when kallen realizes right away it was all a act with suzaku and lelouch and she realizes it was all planed out and how suzaku was waring zeros mask. when that hit me i was like wow she just realize lelouch had good intentions and would die to save everyone.

I think the ending is ambiguous so you can form your own ending. if you wanted him to die then hes dead. if you want him to live then he lived.
