  • What's the name of the second selection that begins at 3:16?

I'm thoroughly enjoying this group btw. That 6 to 5 drilling is NOT easy, yet they execute it with such poise that it looks easy.

  • I am very impressed it's rare to find bands in this decade that still march and play like this. I remember back in the day (wayyy back) when I was at Jefferson always enjoying Vidor's band. They have kept the same style all these years and it still works.

  • Im the drum mjaor at Hardin Jefferson....yall are so awsome by the way.......and what is the name of the fanfare yall do at the end?

  • @adamhaskett

I'm not with the Vidor band (graduated from Jasper). Their ending fanfare is always Cathedral Chorus from Alfred Reed's Slavonic Folk Suite which is derived from the larger work, Russian Christmas Music.

  • wow this actually made my day! This was when I was in high school and even though I was not in band it really brings back just the memories of being in high school.

  • Does anyone know the name of the march after Eagle Squadron, before Slavonic?

  • Porters catalina band

  • best year and day of my life!

  • Im a trumpet player in tthe marching band this years band. This year were doing this drill at games this year. Im a sophmore i love this band and all the plp in it ill never think about quiting

  • Man Honey Boys sounded really great!!! So did Battle of the Winds!!

  • That was excellent videotaping. Most of the band posts just have the panoramic view...this one had close ups, far shots; excellent job. Thank you for posting.

  • man that was my freshman year...that was the best year of my life...going to that compition...was like....my dream....i loved the desipline and the music and just everything that mr touchstone, mr todd, and mr frazier did for us....it sucked that i had to move to california after hurricane rita....the bands here are maybe 30 people...hahah...

  • This was one of the best bands from Vidor I have seen...a return to excellence! Such clean playing and difficulty! I do think the tempo was a bit rushed, but it was still really great. Keep it up Ronnie! John McDaniel

  • Jareds(gotta be the one that was a senior my fish year ;)), it may be common but it's not terribly traditional, and I've always thought it made the fundamentals look far more sloppy.

  • is that Battle of the Winds?

  • I miss playing in this band so much

  • well, this is actually a common tempo for military style marching, 120bpm. C.R. Followed the A&M style which is about 105bpm

  • Have any of you noticed how the tempo has increased since C.R. retired?

  • is that Honeyboys on Parade? Love that March

  • Wow! The playing was great for such difficult songs! Love this performance.

  • Listen to how clean those trombones are, at the 50 second mark...Great Video!
