Gary Moore as he has said the fans deserved the best of the band and as far as he was concerned the drug and alcahol abuse were a big wall, and lets face it who ended up dying at a young age from them abuses
my fantasy jesus lynott on bass and vocals rory on lead guitar and vocals, downey on drums lynott on bass and jimi hendrix in there for sure Keep it real !!
The Gary Moore days, far as i'm concerned Gary Moore was a drivin force behind lizzy but couldn't handle Phil Lynott's abuses, no disrespect intended as they were freinds
@Grumberf Yeah a great album but being involved with one album doesn't make him the driving force of the band. Black Rose was a great album but (in my opinion) it isn't as good as Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox or Renegade.
@Grumberf With the greatest respect, I don't think Sweden can be used as a measure of Lizzy's overall success. I liked Gary Moore but to say he was the driving force of Lizzy, is just ludicrous. He was on one album...ONE!
@THINLIZZYFANno1 He played on Nightlife but he didn't write any of the songs so your claim of Gary being the driving creative force behind Lizzy doesn't stack up. Plus Nightlife wasn't exactly the most exciting Lizzy album. Even the band admitted that.
@whitbyjet65 I wasn't making that claim but he was on two albums not one. However I do believe that Black Rose was possibly their best album and Brian Downey himself claims that Moore's aggressive demeanor had a huge effect on Phil's writing of that album.
@THINLIZZYFANno1 You did make that claim! I've copied & pasted your original statement : 'far as i'm concerned Gary Moore was a drivin force behind lizzy'. You're just a big Gary Moore fan. He wasn't the best guitarist in Lizzy, in my opinion.
@whitbyjet65 Really now? Go back and check the user name of the comment you copied it from then if you're so sure. I am a big Gary Moore fan, yes; but I am more than anything else a huge Thin Lizzy fan. Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham were the best together but Moore and Lynott were a great duo too!

@dictator54 I don't agree with that at all. How can Gary have been the driving force when he wasn't involved in classic albums like Jailbreak?
