The Genesis not only had better specs but could make much larger games with less hassle. example, sonic 3. Snes could have never pumped out sonic 3 with the way nintendo handled their consoles back then.
The SNES could handle Sonic 3 just fine with some clever programming to get the speed up.
But the SNES could display more colors on the screen. The Sound was better, the graphics were crisper,Mode 7 which Genesis couldn't do without the Sega CD to do it.

It's got a better library of games than Dreamcast could EVER hope for.
DC was a port machine as evidenced by the many ports it got such as RE2,3, Dino Crisis,Shadowman,Donald Duck,Walt Disney Racing,Jedi Power Battles,Spiderman,Tomb Raider 4 and 5,Evil Dead. That is just for starters.
Half of it's library are ports. That is lousy for a console.

The SNES has a way better sound chip made by Sony than the Genesis Yamaha chip.
The only advantage Genesis had over the SNES was processor speed.
The SNES was better in every way other than that.
I still like the Genesis more though. I grew up with the Genesis and loved it more than my SNES.

The SNES was competing with the Genesis. The NES died in 1994 while the Genesis died in 1998 along with the SNES in 1998.
Look up the 16 bit wars. It was a back and forth battle between the SNES and Genesis.

Was the NES and Genesis in stores at the same time? Yes. Were Genesis and SNES in stores at the same time? Yes AGAIN. I'd know. I saw SNES and Genesis in stores at the same time. I can also see you're slipping up. While Genesis was good for its music and some of its graphics, as WELL as exceeding cartridge limits, sega died due to its later systems. Yeah, I went there. It's got a better library of games than Dreamcast could EVER hope for.
DC was a port machine as evidenced by the many ports it got such as RE2,3, Dino Crisis,Shadowman,Donald Duck,Walt Disney Racing,Jedi Power Battles,Spiderman,Tomb Raider 4 and 5,Evil Dead. That is just for starters.
Half of it's library are ports. That is lousy for a console.
