That is stupid. The dead penalty is not about "the suffering of the criminal", is that he never will be walking on the streets, on the news asking parole, writing books and so on. That guy alive is punishment to civil society.
@callmeal84 You're absolutely right. I used to subscribe to Pat Condell, then in the span of a few of his videos I realized if I closed my eyes, I could have been listening to a guest speaker at a white supremacist rally, or a neo-nazi recruitment video, or perhaps the Israeli foreign affairs spokesperson. It was a good time to do some much needed spring cleaning on my subscriptions list.
@urcritic Condell is completely contrary to the enlightenment. Condell is not really white supremacist, although I think he is a closet racist. Instead, he represents the nastiest brand of radical right populism that is around at the moment - a hatred of pretty much everything. I'm not sure if he really believes the crap he comes out with, or if he is just appeasing his audience. Hopefully, people like Dawkins distance themselves from him.
@TheTemerariously Listen to me. I do not CARE about you. Stop following my postings you pathetic waste.
So did someone else. A lying sack of shit criminal that's in more trouble than he can handle also "found me here". Go play with yourself. Your actions indicated OBSESSION. Just as this CRIMINAL is OBSESSED with breaking the law with libel and defamation.
Don't forget about Christian Scientists (the religious movement) and what happens in Africa. If you want to point to any one area and say, "This is what happens when Christianity gains power, and why it needs stopped", Africa is the place.
@baldurus1 one isolated deed in norway, islamic terrorism surpassed that number in the next three days. the terror in ireland is SOOO last century. yes, the death penalty in the states is a bloody shame.
@baldurus1 sorry lad, but 'terrorism' in Ireland goes way beyond Christianity, I agree with what you're saying in general, but ethnicity and a history of violence and persecution from both sides is what creates troubles now, it just takes the form of religion
@gleehmee Oh really,I contradict myself? How,by pointing Catholicism is it's own religion and does not teach salvation,by exposing Catholicism so people like you don't mix it with Christianity, and by telling you the the Pope is just any ordinary man.I see what this is,you want Catholicism to be Christianity so that you can say that Christians are rapers and child molesters.Sorry, but that wont work here,I know how corrupt Catholicism is and every other religion that is not Christianity.
@BlueShark20201 I've explained this already, you're not listening, we're done. You're a bigot and a conspiracy theorist, we'll just have to leave it at that. No pont trying to get you to see reason.
Just so you two people who are arguing about the "christian nation" thing understand, the Puritans, who were the first colony from England in the pre-U.S days, believed all people hung over Hell by a string. They were some of the biggest zealots in christian history, and perverted the teachings of Jesus who said God was a loving God. So the earliest colonists were christians, but was that necesarly a good thing? Also, just for the record, I'm an anti-organized-religionist.
@rolanddarktower1 The Puritans tried to save the Church of England, while the Protestants left to America. It was about thirty years until the Puritans left England to join the Protestans.
@rolanddarktower1 I'm not sure how that's relevant to the argument. america has a majority chiristian population, even by that nut's definition (belief = born again = christian, unless he's taken back those comments), but has always had diversity of belief and since the establishment of the constitution, has secularism at the very top and very bottom level. It's christian by majority religion, secular by law and DIVERSE by overall general make up. BUT (to be continued...)
@rolanddarktower1 (...continuing) but that's not the argument I'm havign now, nor was it one I am particularly bothered by. What *I* am arguing about it that that guy said pretty much every christian... ...is not a christian. Then contradicted himself by saying that the one thing that all the groups he misrepresented have in common is all they need to be true christian... ...how can he not see this nonsensicle contradiction?

You are returning to a page with content you already know you don't like, I'm returning to a video i find quite plesant to listen to. So, while I don't need to give you the time of day, it's not really bothering me, where as it's clearly bothering you given your choise of words.
Bit of friendly advice: don't call others idiots while demonstrating your own stupidity.
@gleehmee I did mention that I don't listen to this fool,so my volume is all the way low.No stupidity here.Stupid idiot.Bill Maher doesn't bother me when he's not talking.
@BlueShark20201 you go to the bother of turning off the sound for a single video, you're still putting effort into your apathy. a contradiction in itself. give up troll.
@gleehmee This remindes me of another video, where a guy wanted an explantion for everything.I don't know why though.I don't know, maybe were just speaking a bunch of meaningless rubbish.hahaha
@gleehmee Let me make it easier, the only thing I have agreed with him is that Mormonism is absolutely crazy. That's the only thing I have ever agreed with him.Does that answer your question?
@gleehmee So why did you comment on it?You just said my points are worthless, but you didn't even realize by responding to my worthless comments you made your view worthless also. You haven't given any reasonable points, you've just been asking me questions on what I think.See what happends when you call a person an idiot and keep responding to them.hahaha
@BlueShark20201 You havn't made a "point" just stated an opinion. Then failed to back it up. My comments have the worth that they are trying to get a decent answer from you. I realise the apparent futility of this but it's always worth a shot when faced with arrogant ignorance to try and get to the bottom of that failing.
Yes, I'm asking questions, not making points, but you're not answering accurately.
I only called you an idiot in mimicing you after you called me one, again, without grounds.
@gleehmee I've made a point based on my opinion,it's Bill Maher is an idiot. Why is Bill Maher an idiot, well,he thinks all religions are crazy,he thinks Christian and Catholics are the same, and he's always calling Tea Party Members racist conservative Christians as do most liberals. He's comparing the Tea Party to the KKK.
@BlueShark20201 holy crap you're paranoid. MOST PEOPLE ARE CHRISTIAN. so no. very few people in the grand scheme of things think christians automatically means KKK conservative, that's absurd. You have seriously got to get out more.
Although I will say that the KKK were christians, in general. You said it the wrong way round, Chrisitans in general are not KKK. but the KKK most definately were christians. at least some of them were. there. now I've said that but it doesn't mean what you think!
@gleehmee How can Jew haters be Christians?!That's like saying atheist's are very God fearing people.Btw,what do you mean most people are Christian, most people where? In America? You got to be joking,America is a very anti Christian nation.Do you know what the definition of a Christian is?
@gleehmee How can Jew haters be Christians?!That's like saying atheist's are very God fearing people.Btw,what do you mean most people are Christian, most people where? In America? You got to be joking,America is a very anti Christian nation.Do you know what the definition of a Christian is?
@BlueShark20201 Jew haters? who are you talking about? And atheists probably would be afraid of god, if they found out one of the Gods existed.
I mean exactly what I said. most people,a s in, the majority, as in, more than half, are Christian. In the US? certainly! I suspect you're just itching to give me your "definition of christian" I feel safe int he knowledge it's going to be potentially bigotted and wrong, but go ahead regardless and we shall see.
@gleehmee KKK are Jew haters, how can they be Christian.Christianity is a person who has been born again as the Bible says and one who follows Christs teachings. The following arent Christians based on their teachings;Catholics,Mormons,Jehovaha's Witnesses,Lutherans, and Calvinists, and the KKK.You're wrong a few years ago said there were 30 millions Christians to 10 millions atheists. However the combined the named religions. There a fewer than 30 millions Christians in America.
@BlueShark20201 you're a lunatic, a bigot, a heretic and a liar.
How dare you claim those who have greater faith and truth in their lives than you are not true christian. Jesus came for the whole world, not jut bigots like you.
@gleehmee You can't even defend your point, the Pope is not a Christian you fool,Jeseph Smith was not a Christian,Marx was not a Christian,Hitler was not a Christian.Apparently you can't comprehend a paragragh,I did not say there were more atheists,I said America is an atheistic nation.Don't you get it,There are more Christians than atheists in America, but atheists have a bigger influence on society as of late, and the results couldn't be more terrible because of it.

@gleehmee I gave you the definition of a Christian according to the Bible and you call me a bigot, hereticlunatic, and liar.Everything I said is true, you have no credibility in your statements, and yes America was a Christian Nation you fool. The Founding Fathers drafted the Constituion influenced by the Mayflower Compact.
@BlueShark20201 "born again" is not a biblical term in thsi context. you gave me YOUR definition of a true question and have demonstrated a lack of understanding of what words mean. How can a catholic be an atheist (someone who doesn't believe in a god) and still be catholic (one of the oldest CHRISTIAN churchs)?
ANYONE WHAT SO EVER that accepts christ as the savior is a christian. That is what the WORD MEANS. stop bastardising the language.
@gleehmee John 3:3 Except a man be born again,he cannot see the Kingdom of God.So there is solid evidence it is a Biblical term. Also,Catholicsm is a false religion, thanks to Constantine.Catholics religion is what separated them from Christians, their practices are un Biblical.
Being born again is the same meaning as accepting Christ as Savior.
@BlueShark20201 so you do agree. everyone who excepts jesus christ as the saviour is a christian, thus 85% of americans are christian, well over half! Catholics accept Jesus as saviour, therefore, they are not seperate from christian.
Also, I said it's not a biblical term "in this context". Read what I actually said before taking ME out of context.
Your quote, in context has nothing to do with belief or none belief, it has to do with the intensity and reasons for belief. Where as (...TBC)
@BlueShark20201 (continued, part 2) where as the way you used the term it had no relevence to the term as it was used in the bible. You defined how you were using the phrase. Born again: "accepting christ as saviour". This definition you gave covers catholosism and lutherins as much as ANYONE.
The actual bible verse, refering to coming to god as if as a child is not the same as the common use phrase about being willing to brag about belief.
@gleehmee First you go by what men say,a man can say I have been,"saved",yet he might not know the correct definition of salvation. No man can know who is and who is not,"saved",unless you witness it.Also, a born againg person can be a Catholic,a Christian can be a Catholic because being born again makes you a Christian. However those religions don't teach salvation, they believe in a different Jesus, and they deny the Trinity.Let me explain, this is about to get very confusing......
However those religions don't teach salvation, they believe in a different Jesus, and they deny the Trinity.Let me explain.
@gleehmee The Roman Catholics demand submission and intellect taught by the Pope or Catholic Bishops. The Catholics doctrine is based upon the,"sacred deposit".however these transcripts are unaccessable because only the Pope or Catholic Bishops can establish the authenitic meaning.Catholics perfom religious works to,merit grace",and do penance to make satisfaction.Hence,Catholicism and Christianity are not the same Christianity is based on the Bible, evidence shows Catholicism doesn't.
All Catholics are christian, but christians are not all catholics. It's not a difficult fact to understand.
None of what you have said makes any statment about jesus not being the savior. they still believe he is the savior and are therefore, by the definition YOU GAVE ME, christian.
@gleehmee You see there you go twisting facts again.A person who is born again is a Christian. So a born again person can be a Catholic,Calvinist,Mormon,Jehovas's Witness,Atheist, and evena Muslim.Your statement is that all Catholics are Christians, this is false. For the reason Catholic don't go by faith, they go by works. That is why they believe in Purgatory. You love to twist the truth don't you?
@gleehmee Most Christians are not Christians, they only call themselves that. The Atheists I know are more Christ like than most Christians. Most Atheists I know are actively working to help the human race, such as working in social service organizations with homeless kids, or at the shelters, or as dr.s and nurses. Many Christians are great people too, but dang, lighten up on the peer pressure already! I don't care if you think I'm going to a hell I don't believe in.
Ropspierre became a national figure before the Revolution when he defended a householder in Lille from charges of witchcraft--his neighbors though his lightning rod was a charm meant to deflect the lighting onto their houses.
Evolutionists like to use the analogy of the incomplete mouse trap. Of course, an incomplete mouse trap can last a long time until its human DESIGNER completes it. However, a partially-evolved cell, if it could have ever got to that point, would have quickly disintegrated in the real world. It couldn't wait (or "survive") for millions of years for chance to finish or complete it and then make it living! Please read my Internet article HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.

@007CTHULHU007 "Science is investigation and proving of what usually starts as Theory." No. I'll try and explain again. Scientific Theory is the END PRODUCT, the highest truth science can achieve. Science investigates facts, discovers laws & finally forms Theories based on evidence to explain both. "To make distinctions [...] is foolish" The distinction is established & important. "ARGUMENT IS CIRCULAR" Nope. "...even the most HARDCORE atheists will admit it..So..don't bother." Name one.
@queenastilon Let me explain. I don't like getting replies from 6 month old posts from the epitome(s) of arrogance..being atheists(or anyone for that old of a post).
Scientific theory is scientific theory it is NOT "END PRODUCT"....durp. It is not "Truth" it is "THEORY". What "theory" you are talking about I do not know as I do not know which 7 month old post you are replying to.
The argument IS circular as you cannot nor will ever be capable of disproving a Creator.
@queenastilon How many names? Most atheists with a GRAIN of intellect will admit to a circular argument or be destroyed in argument...as has been the case in all EVEN and UNBIASED debates I have seen. The problem with some of these "atheist" debates is they argue against "Christianity". I'm a Deist so you can shove that. I believe in a Creator Being(s) because it is logical and required by my views and the views of others on this Universe,Reality,Existence. Don't reply to me with asinine posts.

@007CTHULHU007 WHAT is "logical" about believing in magical invisible people? Do you also believe in unicorns, satyrs (half-man, half-goat people) and flying fire-breathing snakes? All these "things" are in the Bible. But if you never read the Bible you wouldn't know that. Most Atheists become Atheists BECAUSE they read the Bible. It is full of sick, freakish ILLogical nonsense. Come on, what are you REALLY defending? I think your fear of death is the basis of your belief. Be honest!
So ...you can stop arguing from the Bible. You can stop arguing all together for I have NO desire to debate this for the 50th+ time. The argument is CIRCULAR. Atheism has no foundation in anything, but believing to disbelieve. No proof of non-existence. Nor is a "burden of proof' implied upon those that believe in a Creator Being(s).Burden of proof lies on BOTH sides of the coin.Atheist say there is no evidence of a Creator...when I see, read, smell, hear, taste, feel "evidence" every moment.
What I see as evidence you see as accident. An amazing astounding ORDERED accident with laws and rules to govern this vast "accident". I don't see an "accident". Can you say what was before Reality? No. Can you say what nothing is? Only the definition.
As for Christians...they worship the NEW Testament and you are spouting from the OLD Testament Bible. That is common for atheists to do as the New Testament(and even the Old) have historical facts within them. What facts do atheist have? None.
@thedrake1954 The "Logical" deduction used to form and confirm the belief in a Creator Being has nothing to do with "magical invisible people" or fucking unicorns or fucking spaghetti monsters..pardon my french, but that crap is old as the hills and overused by young atheists that don't know any better. I speak of a Creator Entity/Being through belief in SCIENCE.
It has NOTHING to do with other fantasies...or maybe they aren't. Maybe a "spaghetti monster" will come out of the sky and turn you into a MEAT BALL one day. It cannot be impirically ruled out. Nothing can. You don't know the full bounds of this reality and any human that claims they do is a FOOL. Again....atheists that become atheist because of the Bible are illogical and full of tripe. Look ELSEWHERE if you want to prove a Creator...or have faith in the Bible. I DO NOT CARE.
@thedrake1954 So....now you know what I believe. Do not contest what I believe. You will not change my mind. You will not change what I observe, see, hear, smell, taste, feel, etc. That is my evidence aside from science itself.
From what you say of the Bible I can tell you picked and pecked it for the worst parts missing the points. Shit happens. Do what you wish. This conversation is OVER. I will not converse with arrogant spiteful mostly pathetic humans. End of conversation. End of Line.
@007CTHULHU007 mmm. well if ur actually defending the bible U have clearly gone through and picked and pecked it for the good parts, which is great. The problem is that not everyone lives by your philosophy. take the west boro baptist church for example. I mean, everything they believe is in the bible. anyone who says different either hasn't read it or is lying. The bible ferments intolerance in the already imperfect human mind.
@queenastilon You have your facts messed up. I have no wish to discuss this with another pathetic arrogant troll...and that's what you will turn into. I've only met ONE atheist that hasn't turned into a troll in argument and destroyed their own argument. Absence of evidence(there is plenty for ME) is NOT evidence of absence.
Talk to someone that will agree with your arrogant THEORIES...which are "educated" OPINIONS...PERIOD. Atheists showed me how they are here by MASS down voting my posts.
@007CTHULHU007 Wow, you really sound kinda paranoid. Maybe the reason so many people are "downing" your comments is because they are frothing with ignorance and venom. Come on, do you really believe that the Bible was the work of a "loving god"? This same "god" ordered his chosen people (aka "master race") to commit NUMEROUS acts of unprovoked murder, rape and baby killing. How can you NOT know that? (Probably because you've never read the Bible.)
@thedrake1954 No. My some of my posts disappeared until I voted one up on them MYSELF. Don't be an ass...that's impossible isn't it? A fool is a fool is a fool and you can't change one. That's you by the way. Ignorance my ass..venom perhaps, but only because of the "venom" asinine atheists spout out and CLAIM.
You can stop with the Bible. I was raised Christian, but I'm NOT Christian. Deist would better describe my beliefs as they are based in science, biology, and physics Not to mention reality.
...as I was saying..mass down voting my commentary so as it could not be seen. THAT is how most atheists argue. With the other end of their body. Not their brain. So..yeah...some ass will MASS down vote my commentary by their self or with others so you can live in your self imposed arrogant ignorance.
Now. Leave me alone. I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE.
@queenastilon Actually, a "theory" is the cumulative result of supportive "facts" (not the other way around.) Scientists begin an investigation with a hypothesis, collect facts and formulate a theory. Gravity is, after all, a "theory." But your point is basically sound. Religion, however, deliberately--and sometimes violently--strives to suppress and pervert all investigation that would shatter the illusion of lies and superstition that the priestcraft relies on to keep people ignorant.
"Religion, however, deliberately--and sometimes violently--strives to suppress and pervert all investigation that would shatter the illusion of lies and superstition..."
That is a vast oversimplification. It was the Catholic Church who started up the first western Universities, and people on their payroll like Bošković, Mendel, and Lemaître, made great contributions to science. Their monks copying books made the science of India and the Mid. East available to Europeans.
Ah how Pat Condell has changed. Once upon a time, he was guy who could think critically and make reasonably funny videos. Now he is a wilfully ignorant right-wing (perhaps radical right) propagandist. It is difficult to see Condell as enlightened these days.
I especially liked the part where the old guy was saying a funny bit about what is nice about religion. I'd like to add something to his rant that he didn't say: The good thing about Islam is that women don't have to spend much time getting ready to go out. They don't have to decide what to wear, style their hair or do their makeup. That has to cut out at least 2 hours out of their day, but I guess they spend that saved 2 hours nursing the wounds that they get from their beatings... so nvm then

Islam is the biggest single religion in the world thanks to their birthrates. Catholicism is no longer the biggest single religion in the world. I am happy that christianly is finely starting to crumble but now we have to worry about Muslim, the new Catholicism. But let’s give credit to the deserving. To the Vegina of the Muslim women, but I want to finish on a good note. More people are become Atheist then all the religious conversions put together. No Muslim Vegina can fix this!
Atheism is a dumb idea. The word itself is defined in theism. To say the physically perceivable world is all that exists is blatantly ignorant. You can choose not to believe in the dogma's of the major religions while still accepting the truths which they have been trying to spread.
@227Morgan Which version of "the truth"? Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Shinto, Pastafarianism? All are different, and which is more true than the rest?
I did not say "the truth" I said "the truths". There is no such thing as any one truth. Our world is much more complex than that. But the kinds of ideas that most or all of these religions share are applicable to the world we live in. A truth is soething you must know for yourself, it is not something that you can just have smebody call true.
@227Morgan That's the problem, religions are all different, from mono-God such as Judiasm, Christianity, Islam, or Pastafarianism to multi-God such as Hindusim, Greek Methology, Norse Methology, Ancieht Egyptian Methology. All theists are atheists regarding the Gods they don't believe in. Atheists simply go one further, that's all. Atheism is not a dumb idea, it is a rational idea because religions cannot prove the existence of Gods beyond faith.
I think our problem is application of certain terms. For instance when I say "atheism" it relates to the belief in no god whatsoever whereas, when you say atheism (i infer) it means lack of belief in any one particular god. Likewise i feel we differ when it comes to the word "god". Of course existence of a "god" cannot be proven. but you must take into account the fact that science can never "prove" anything. We can only create models which fit the data we have seen up to this point

mentality that has been so drilled into us by every facet possible, we would really be living in a heaven-on-earth like utopia where there is more than enough for everyone. Its like, why not? We are the ones who create the dream of this reality because we are the dreamers. Unfortunately there are people out there who want to control the dream but if we only realize who and what we are we can take back the dream that is rightfully ours.
@imapisces23 .Religion deserves no place in the civilised world.Your lucky in europe, america, canada and so forth that you ave choice. We here in the religious doinated world do not.He might not know how things work but he knows far more than fairy tales such as islam, christianity, etc, etc written tuosands of years ago.
@laudrup90 Time is an illusion so the fact that something was written thousands of years ago hardly has any affect on its accuracy because the present now moment is all there really is. our concept of past and future is an artificial construct just like all of our personalities that we use to interact with each other to learn more about people and by that same card ourselves because the one is the all and the all are the one so why can't we all just get a long and show a whole lotta love?
@imapisces23 According to Einstein, time is not an illusion but rather, a dimension of physical existence. It is fair to say that time has no meaning to God, other than that God creates beings to be bound by time. But time has significant meaning to human beings, otherwise one would never observe any human being in a hurry to do anything, which is obviously not the case. You can argue semantics all you want, but we are bound by birth and death and thus, are creatures of time.
@imapisces23 "Time is an illusion " Illusions aren't measureable. You know... stuff like "revelations" and "visions" and stuff. Time is a demonstrable dimension.
"so why can't we all just get a long and show a whole lotta love?" because idiots like you seem hellbend on putting labels on everyone and believe that everyone not part of your elite little club deserves eternal torture, that's why.
@ScientificBob our concept of time is entirely based on movement. our plant spins to give us the illusion of a day passing by and the concept of a year is given by the movement of this little planet around the sun but if you were to be well lets say on some sort of spaceship you would have no "dimension" of time to worry about, only the now moment which is all there really is. You create the past and the future from the now. We are the only beings in the universe who have figured out a way to
@imapisces23 A day and a year is only a unit of measurement. What is being measured is not dependent on the unit being used.
Likewise, you can measure space in centimeters or in inches. That doesn't make space an illusion.
Time is a dimension and it exists wheter you are in spaceship or on the planet. It's an integral part of space-time and there really is no need for all that childish mumbo-jumbo that you are trying to inject into it.
@ScientificBob well this is where things get a little dicey. You see, this whole time-space/physical reality hologram is nothing more than a holographic illusion that is a screen on which we project all of our individual beliefs and thoughts which then create the collective view of how things are so we can observe the process of manifestation in a far more dense/slowed down experience. This is why if about 50% of the earths population simply started changing their mind-patterns out of the victim
@ScientificBob haha well at least i claim something that could make sense and is interesting unlike a cowardly cop-out like atheism, no offense. How could you believe in atheism which is the belief of a lack of a belief when there is clearly something going on? A belief of nothingness with somethingness does not make any kind of sense imo. Why don't you balls up and claim something yourself rather than copping out and claiming nothing then laughing at those who have the nads to claim something?
@imapisces23 "a cowardly cop-out like atheism" Que? Atheism is a single stance on a single issue. Comments like this only show your ignorance on the topic.
"How could you believe in atheism " Nobody "believes in atheism", dumbass. Atheism is the lack of a belief. You know how it is NOT to believe something because you are not a hindu. Stop trying to inject all kinds of stuff into the word atheism, while it really IS a single stance on a single issue.
@imapisces23 "A belief of nothingness with somethingness does not make any kind of sense imo" Indeed, that comment doesn't make any sense at all.
"claim something yourself " Why would I need to claim something? Why do you consider it a virtue to make wild baseless claims? I see no reason to claim anything about anything when there is no data whatsoever pointing towards something to make a claim about.
You aren't making any sense. Man up and smell the irrationality of your posts.
@laudrup90 I have a choice, I don't believe in any religion, including especially the conservative fundamentalist blind faith belief religion of atheism. There is no evidence for magically appearing universes; athesim = horse shit.
@richardaberdeen I don't believe in any religion, especially the conservative fundamentalist blind faith belief religion of Christianity. There is no evidence for magically appearing gods; you and the rest of your kind = horse shit.
@richardaberdeen "conservative fundamentalist blind faith belief religion of atheism" Eum, what? Are you an idiot? Is that why you say idiotic things?
"There is no evidence for magically appearing universes; athesim = horse shit." Atheism doesn't include anything about the universe or magic. Atheism is a single position on a single issue.
Just curiois: What is happening at 5 48, and 5 50 in particular? It sounds like something is missing. "If he did believe that noh you know.. [ - ] he came to North America then [ - ] and if he, he doesn't then (or "and"?) he's lying."
There was a time only a blip ago in evolutionary terms, when over 90% of scientists believed the sun revolves around the earth, disease spontaneously arises, the universe is static and there is one milky way galaxy. It would seem that what numbers of scientists believe has no relation to what is actually true. And then of course, there are the self-contradicting atheists, who claim to believe in science, yet would have us believe that not only disease but entire universes magically arise.
@richardaberdeen .universes magically arise? you jusy explained the difference between science and religion yourself.\yes science grows and learns while constantly testing itself, religion is grows further and further based on myth andman made ideas of a time when humans had no clue about the planet.Besides no scientist claims to universes magically arising, and being an athiest the only thing you have in common is not believing there is a god.
@laudrup90 I get tired of explaining the same thing over and over and over to atheists across the web, as if they all dip from the same top-10 soundbites phone book. Either A) Somebody created my computer or B) It magically appeared all by itself. If you claim to "disbelieve" in God, then you are telling anyone with half a brain that you believe in magic. There is no third option to the rational mind. I've asked the same question over and over and no atheist has ever proposed a 3rd option.
@richardaberdeen So everything that is had a creator, except the creator. When I say I don't believe in god, that does not mean I automatically believe in magic. Combining elements to create is not magic, it is science.
Since I am not atheist, the third option is science. If there is a god, it was created by random combinations of matter. Matter that has always been and will continue to be, in one for or another, what makes up our universe.
@kingachybraky That is what the evidence demonstrates. There is no evidence that anything can exist unto itself unless it is eternal, nor is there any evidence that matter can turn into intelligence and conscious awareness all by itself or motion can arise unto itself. The burden of proof remains on atheists, who grossly contradict all know laws of physics and rules of science and evidence. If someone claims to "disbelieve in God", let them provide a BETTER explanation or, shut the fuck up.
@richardaberdeen Oh Dear, the man that claims to believe in go is a trash talker like the other imbeciles too scared to take credit for their own actions. It is so much easier to say "it's the will of god" than to take responsibility for failures in ones own life.
Grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. Get happy about finding heaven here, daily.
@laudrup90 If nobody created the universe, then it magically appeared all by itself. Neither you, nor Bill Maher, nor the lying ivory-tower ass Richard Dawkins have provided a third alternative. You be sure and let us here in the sane world know when you have a BETTER explanation for the observable universal reality and then, we will all bow down to you. Bullshitter...
There is no clear answer right now, and I'm completely fine with that; science has been making great strides now that religion has lost most of its grasp on society. What I'm not fine with, however, is people like you - who sit around, providing nothing to further our knowledge, and have the gall to act superior because you fill in a gap in scientific knowledge with "goddidit!!" If the majority of people shared your views, we'd be still in the dark ages.
@ShinigamiSirius Atheists are like one of the estimated 10 trillion microbes living inside the average adult strutting around pretending that human beings don't exist, except for infinitely more ignorant. If one wants to embrace worthless superstition, that is their choice, after all God gave us freedom of choice, but don't try pretending around the average truck driver or biker that atheists are anything other than liars of the most extreme and perverse kind. Atheism=gross superstition.
@sonykroket Those of us in the rational world assume A) Someone creates something that has parts within parts or B) It magically appears all by itself. There is no C to the rational mind, which is why atheism is the worst of all known superstitions. To be an atheist, one must by blind faith assume that 1) motion can arise from non-motion; 2) intelligence can arise from non-intelligence; 3) universal laws and processes magically exist unto themselves. I don't have nearly that much faith.
@sonykroket At least I don't believe in magic. Atheism isn't based on a single shred of evidence. Any scientist who claims to be an atheist is by definition, lying about being a scientist. Richard Dawkins is a good example of why no truck driver in their right mind would send their kids to Oxford. And Maher is an example of someone who should stick to comedy, as he seems to have never picked up either a history or science or science book.

Don't forget about Christian Scientists (the religious movement) and what happens in Africa. If you want to point to any one area and say, "This is what happens when Christianity gains power, and why it needs stopped", Africa is the place.
Ryakki 1 month ago
@baldurus1
You're wrong.
I think the death penalty is right and I'm an atheist. People like Hitler and Stalin should get a bullet in the head.
Secondly the Norwegian mass murderer is found to be crazy by psychologists.
But I'm sure christianity can find new ways to kill people.
Right now they're pretty calm.
tomaselvis 4 weeks ago
@tomaselvis Then you're no better than Hitler or Stalin.
There's a reason we think those two are horrible individuals, because they killed.
How would you be any better by killing them?
If someone rapes your sister, wouldn't it then be fair to go and rape his sister? Because that's what you're proposing, an eye for an eye.
And isn't rotting in a cell a worse punishment then swift death?
And what about the hundreds of innocent executed in the U.S. in the last 20 years?
baldurus1 4 weeks ago
@baldurus1
1, It's not about me being better by killing them. It's about saving their future victims.
2, The sister example is really stupid. It's not what I'm saying.
3, Rotting in a cell costs money. A bullet is cheaper.
4, The death penalty should be used VERY cautiously. Only when proven 100% guilty.
Good answers for you?
tomaselvis 3 weeks ago
@tomaselvis Look: wikipedia List of exonerated death row inmates.
From 1970-2010 139 people have been exonerated, that's a shocking number.
Most of these people were executed and posthumously exonerated.
"California taxpayers pay $90,000 more per death row prisoner each year than on prisoners in regular confinement." California state bureau of justice.
And finally, killing is ALWAYS wrong. And should not be practiced in any civilized society.
baldurus1 3 weeks ago
@baldurus1
Killing is always wrong? How do you know that?
If someone had killed Hitler 55 milion people would not have died.
You think it would be wrong killing him?
One should only kill people that are 100% proven they did the crime.
When in doubt... jail.
You want me to answer the same questions again?

They were some of the biggest zealots in christian history, and perverted the teachings of Jesus who said God was a loving God.
That is what the WORD MEANS. stop bastardising the language.
gleehmee 4 months ago
@gleehmee John 3:3 Except a man be born again,he cannot see the Kingdom of God.So there is solid evidence it is a Biblical term. Also,Catholicsm is a false religion, thanks to Constantine.Catholics religion is what separated them from Christians, their practices are un Biblical.
Being born again is the same meaning as accepting Christ as Savior.
BlueShark20201 4 months ago
@BlueShark20201 so you do agree. everyone who excepts jesus christ as the saviour is a christian, thus 85% of americans are christian, well over half! Catholics accept Jesus as saviour, therefore, they are not seperate from christian.
Also, I said it's not a biblical term "in this context". Read what I actually said before taking ME out of context.
Your quote, in context has nothing to do with belief or none belief, it has to do with the intensity and reasons for belief. Where as (...TBC)
gleehmee 4 months ago
@BlueShark20201 (continued, part 2) where as the way you used the term it had no relevence to the term as it was used in the bible. You defined how you were using the phrase. Born again: "accepting christ as saviour". This definition you gave covers catholosism and lutherins as much as ANYONE.
The actual bible verse, refering to coming to god as if as a child is not the same as the common use phrase about being willing to brag about belief.

BlueShark20201 4 months ago
@BlueShark20201 I didn't say they were the same thing.
All Catholics are christian, but christians are not all catholics. It's not a difficult fact to understand.

"...even the most HARDCORE atheists will admit it..So..don't bother." Name one.
queenastilon 6 months ago
@queenastilon Let me explain. I don't like getting replies from 6 month old posts from the epitome(s) of arrogance..being atheists(or anyone for that old of a post).
Scientific theory is scientific theory it is NOT "END PRODUCT"....durp. It is not "Truth" it is "THEORY". What "theory" you are talking about I do not know as I do not know which 7 month old post you are replying to.
The argument IS circular as you cannot nor will ever be capable of disproving a Creator.

The problem with some of these "atheist" debates is they argue against "Christianity". I'm a Deist so you can shove that. Be honest!
thedrake1954 6 months ago
So ...you can stop arguing from the Bible. You can stop arguing all together for I have NO desire to debate this for the 50th+ time. The argument is CIRCULAR. Atheism has no foundation in anything, but believing to disbelieve. No proof of non-existence. Nor is a "burden of proof' implied upon those that believe in a Creator Being(s).Burden of proof lies on BOTH sides of the coin.Atheist say there is no evidence of a Creator...when I see, read, smell, hear, taste, feel "evidence" every moment.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
What I see as evidence you see as accident. An amazing astounding ORDERED accident with laws and rules to govern this vast "accident". I don't see an "accident". Can you say what was before Reality? No. Can you say what nothing is? Only the definition.
As for Christians...they worship the NEW Testament and you are spouting from the OLD Testament Bible. That is common for atheists to do as the New Testament(and even the Old) have historical facts within them. What facts do atheist have? None.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
@thedrake1954 The "Logical" deduction used to form and confirm the belief in a Creator Being has nothing to do with "magical invisible people" or fucking unicorns or fucking spaghetti monsters..pardon my french, but that crap is old as the hills and overused by young atheists that don't know any better. I speak of a Creator Entity/Being through belief in SCIENCE.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
It has NOTHING to do with other fantasies...or maybe they aren't. Maybe a "spaghetti monster" will come out of the sky and turn you into a MEAT BALL one day. It cannot be impirically ruled out. Nothing can. You don't know the full bounds of this reality and any human that claims they do is a FOOL. Again....atheists that become atheist because of the Bible are illogical and full of tripe. Look ELSEWHERE if you want to prove a Creator...or have faith in the Bible. I DO NOT CARE.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
@thedrake1954 So....now you know what I believe. Do not contest what I believe. You will not change my mind. You will not change what I observe, see, hear, smell, taste, feel, etc. That is my evidence aside from science itself.
From what you say of the Bible I can tell you picked and pecked it for the worst parts missing the points. Shit happens. Do what you wish. This conversation is OVER. I will not converse with arrogant spiteful mostly pathetic humans. End of conversation. End of Line.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago

007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
@007CTHULHU007 Wow, you really sound kinda paranoid. Maybe the reason so many people are "downing" your comments is because they are frothing with ignorance and venom. Come on, do you really believe that the Bible was the work of a "loving god"? This same "god" ordered his chosen people (aka "master race") to commit NUMEROUS acts of unprovoked murder, rape and baby killing. How can you NOT know that? (Probably because you've never read the Bible.)
thedrake1954 6 months ago
@thedrake1954 No. My some of my posts disappeared until I voted one up on them MYSELF. Don't be an ass...that's impossible isn't it? A fool is a fool is a fool and you can't change one. That's you by the way. Ignorance my ass..venom perhaps, but only because of the "venom" asinine atheists spout out and CLAIM.
You can stop with the Bible. I was raised Christian, but I'm NOT Christian. Deist would better describe my beliefs as they are based in science, biology, and physics Not to mention reality.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago
...as I was saying..mass down voting my commentary so as it could not be seen.
007CTHULHU007 6 months ago

KussVomTod 7 months ago
Atheism is a dumb idea. The word itself is defined in theism. To say the physically perceivable world is all that exists is blatantly ignorant. You can choose not to believe in the dogma's of the major religions while still accepting the truths which they have been trying to spread.
227Morgan 7 months ago
@227Morgan Which version of "the truth"? Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Shinto, Pastafarianism? All are different, and which is more true than the rest?
sihsobhk 6 months ago
@sihsobhk
I did not say "the truth" I said "the truths". There is no such thing as any one truth. Our world is much more complex than that. But the kinds of ideas that most or all of these religions share are applicable to the world we live in. A truth is soething you must know for yourself, it is not something that you can just have smebody call true.
227Morgan 6 months ago
@227Morgan That's the problem, religions are all different, from mono-God such as Judiasm, Christianity, Islam, or Pastafarianism to multi-God such as Hindusim, Greek Methology, Norse Methology, Ancieht Egyptian Methology. All theists are atheists regarding the Gods they don't believe in. Atheists simply go one further, that's all. Atheism is not a dumb idea, it is a rational idea because religions cannot prove the existence of Gods beyond faith.
sihsobhk 6 months ago
@sihsobhk

Unfortunately there are people out there who want to control the dream but if we only realize who and what we are we can take back the dream that is rightfully ours.

laudrup90 7 months ago
@laudrup90 Time is an illusion so the fact that something was written thousands of years ago hardly has any affect on its accuracy because the present now moment is all there really is. our concept of past and future is an artificial construct just like all of our personalities that we use to interact with each other to learn more about people and by that same card ourselves because the one is the all and the all are the one so why can't we all just get a long and show a whole lotta love?
imapisces23 7 months ago
@imapisces23 According to Einstein, time is not an illusion but rather, a dimension of physical existence. It is fair to say that time has no meaning to God, other than that God creates beings to be bound by time. But time has significant meaning to human beings, otherwise one would never observe any human being in a hurry to do anything, which is obviously not the case. You can argue semantics all you want, but we are bound by birth and death and thus, are creatures of time.
richardaberdeen 7 months ago
@imapisces23 "Time is an illusion " Illusions aren't measureable. You know... stuff like "revelations" and "visions" and stuff. Time is a demonstrable dimension.
"so why can't we all just get a long and show a whole lotta love?" because idiots like you seem hellbend on putting labels on everyone and believe that everyone not part of your elite little club deserves eternal torture, that's why.
ScientificBob 7 months ago
@ScientificBob our concept of time is entirely based on movement. our plant spins to give us the illusion of a day passing by and the concept of a year is given by the movement of this little planet around the sun but if you were to be well lets say on some sort of spaceship you would have no "dimension" of time to worry about, only the now moment which is all there really is. You create the past and the future from the now. We are the only beings in the universe who have figured out a way to
imapisces23 7 months ago
@imapisces23 A day and a year is only a unit of measurement. What is being measured is not dependent on the unit being used.
Likewise, you can measure space in centimeters or in inches. That doesn't make space an illusion.
Time is a dimension and it exists wheter you are in spaceship or on the planet. It's an integral part of space-time and there really is no need for all that childish mumbo-jumbo that you are trying to inject into it.
ScientificBob 7 months ago

Why don't you balls up and claim something yourself rather than copping out and claiming nothing then laughing at those who have the nads to claim something?
imapisces23 7 months ago
@imapisces23 "a cowardly cop-out like atheism" Que? Atheism is a single stance on a single issue. Comments like this only show your ignorance on the topic.
"How could you believe in atheism " Nobody "believes in atheism", dumbass. Atheism is the lack of a belief. You know how it is NOT to believe something because you are not a hindu. Stop trying to inject all kinds of stuff into the word atheism, while it really IS a single stance on a single issue.
ScientificBob 7 months ago
@imapisces23 "A belief of nothingness with somethingness does not make any kind of sense imo" Indeed, that comment doesn't make any sense at all.
"claim something yourself " Why would I need to claim something? Why do you consider it a virtue to make wild baseless claims? I see no reason to claim anything about anything when there is no data whatsoever pointing towards something to make a claim about.
You aren't making any sense. Man up and smell the irrationality of your posts.

There was a time only a blip ago in evolutionary terms, when over 90% of scientists believed the sun revolves around the earth, disease spontaneously arises, the universe is static and there is one milky way galaxy. It would seem that what numbers of scientists believe has no relation to what is actually true. And then of course, there are the self-contradicting atheists, who claim to believe in science, yet would have us believe that not only disease but entire universes magically arise.
richardaberdeen 8 months ago
@richardaberdeen .universes magically arise? you jusy explained the difference between science and religion yourself.\yes science grows and learns while constantly testing itself, religion is grows further and further based on myth andman made ideas of a time when humans had no clue about the planet.Besides no scientist claims to universes magically arising, and being an athiest the only thing you have in common is not believing there is a god.
laudrup90 7 months ago
@laudrup90 I get tired of explaining the same thing over and over and over to atheists across the web, as if they all dip from the same top-10 soundbites phone book. Either A) Somebody created my computer or B) It magically appeared all by itself. If you claim to "disbelieve" in God, then you are telling anyone with half a brain that you believe in magic. There is no third option to the rational mind. I've asked the same question over and over and no atheist has ever proposed a 3rd option.
richardaberdeen 7 months ago
@richardaberdeen So everything that is had a creator, except the creator. When I say I don't believe in god, that does not mean I automatically believe in magic. Combining elements to create is not magic, it is science.
Since I am not atheist, the third option is science. If there is a god, it was created by random combinations of matter. Matter that has always been and will continue to be, in one for or another, what makes up our universe.
kingachybraky 7 months ago
@kingachybraky That is what the evidence demonstrates. There is no evidence that anything can exist unto itself unless it is eternal, nor is there any evidence that matter can turn into intelligence and conscious awareness all by itself or motion can arise unto itself. The burden of proof remains on atheists, who grossly contradict all know laws of physics and rules of science and evidence. If someone claims to "disbelieve in God", let them provide a BETTER explanation or, shut the fuck up.
richardaberdeen 7 months ago
@richardaberdeen Oh Dear, the man that claims to believe in go is a trash talker like the other imbeciles too scared to take credit for their own actions. It is so much easier to say "it's the will of god" than to take responsibility for failures in ones own life.
Grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. Get happy about finding heaven here, daily.
kingachybraky 7 months ago
@laudrup90 If nobody created the universe, then it magically appeared all by itself. Neither you, nor Bill Maher, nor the lying ivory-tower ass Richard Dawkins have provided a third alternative. You be sure and let us here in the sane world know when you have a BETTER explanation for the observable universal reality and then, we will all bow down to you. Bullshitter...
richardaberdeen 7 months ago
@richardaberdeen
