  • the first song i ever learned to play with my guitar.. back in 2002 )))

  • 5 people likes reggaeton of shit! XD ..... Radiohead & this amazing song rules 4ever!

  • bohoo for those 5 sick sados that dont like this video

  • I remember studying this song for English class last year.

I had been a fan of Radiohead for a couple of years but I never really fully listened to this song like the others but I knew this song but I remember the overwhelming feeling I got when I read the lyrics the first time. I had to leave the classroom. A bit embarrassing, I must say, but I really couldn't take it all in with all these idiots around me laughing at it.

Since then, it has become my favorite songs.

    Thank you Radiohead.

  • @YurzAndMyne yea those idiots are everywhere and l know the feeling. Schools are factories of idiocy and they create a culture of idiocy. I hate them for wasting so much time. glad you enjoy the lyrics...

  • The best Fake Plastic Trees performance was in 2003 @ Glastonbury Jonny raped the guitar during the solo

  • God it was mesmerising to watch, a very special night,. i don't think i have quite seen a band that caught the magic like Radiohead did in 97.

    Superb.

  • ...

  • I was fortunate enough to be there and it was simply astonishing, the weather was awful, stages were sinking but they managed to rise above it and blew everyone's minds. I love Radiohead and I don't think they will ever recreate the brilliance of OK Computer or even the Bends, but to put in to context how many bands could, genius is seldom general. And Thom Yorke actually doesnt want to.

  • Comment removed

  • I was at this, I think ok computer was released the same week or so. Great show, great band.

  • i want his alvares-yairi so much

  • haunting.. beautiful... hairs on your neck.... play again.. again.. again.... again..... and even tho its time for bed....just once more..... and again.... agai... ag...... fk..... time for work!

  • almost a carbon copy of album version..that`s when you know you`ve got a great live band..

  • @floyd72cfc No, no, it really isn't.

  • @Rixripter and what leads you to this conclusion? i personally like it when a live version replicates a studio version,,so are you saying its not a good live band or not a good live version..?please elaborate.."no no it really isn`t "doesn`t really cover it mate

  • There might not ever be a band as good as they were during the Bends and OK Computer period.

  • I'm a little lost here on people saying Thom's voice has been declined over the years.

  • best song at glastonbury ever??

  • Johnny Greenwood for the win.

  • ...

  • ...

  • I was at both and they sort of blur in to one. Both would be in my all time top 5 gigs along with Faithless and Massive Attack at the same event. God knows which years they were!! ;-)

  • man still in two minds over which glasto i prefer... i'm swaying towards this one atm, both are special performances i would love to here this song live one day.

  • I think glastonbury 97 and 03 are both great in their own way

  • 2003 was all around better... this is a great version though. It is much softer and Thom's voice hasn't started to decline yet. It's sad to think that in 10 years he won't be able to sing falsetto

  • FUCKING AMAZING.

  • 2:35 ...goosebumps. So beautiful.

  • 3:23

  • I think this is the best perfomance of Fake Plastic Trees. though a lot of people think Glastonbury 2003 is the best. but I prefer this one cause Thom`s voice is rough here and has more raw emotion, In my opinon. is there anyone who agrees with me?:)

  • one of my fav of all time...

  • I remember singing this under my breath to myself all the way home next day. So beautiful.

  • still amazin was there that night! brings it all back, goose pimples an all

  • what does he say at the end?

  • 1997>2003. lets hope for my sake that their next year

  • 03 better? not a chance. radiohead are quite simply the best band ever and this is their peak. the bends and ok computer are the nearest you will get to perfection musically as you can and with the mud and rain with thom singing rain down on me in paranoid android is magical

  • Nice you guys agree with me lol this performance is spectacular; 03 was amazing but this was magical.

  • agree with ztoigo - 2003 version was better - even more explosive (not much in it). But u r also right in that this version was magical because it was so raw, as was the entire set. Legendary in the mud and rain, in adversity contending with the blown speakers; in some ways it was them at their peak, but of course their repetoire is more expansive now and more great songs. Highlights of 1997 for me: this, Planet Telex, Paranoid Android, just, High & Dry & Street Spirit (all better than in 2003)

  • lol if you think Radiohead peaked during OK computer...

  • kid a is pretty neat

  • I agree. Kid A is pretty much as "peak" as you can get. Yes, OK Computer was probably the most commercially acceptable album, but Kid A was a Work of Art.

  • @xsjb74x I think kid a is their best.

  • @xsjb74x couldn't agree more, They are the modern day Beatles! Tbh i think they are up their with the best music i have ever heard! I dont think there is another band apart from the Beatles that you can compare them to! IMO

  • @xsjb74x i think that their peak is from pablo honey to in rainbows

  • @xsjb74x too true mate!

  • @xsjb74x too true mate! this is definitely the most epic, amazing gig and live performance iv ever witnessed...i'm proud to have lived in the same generation as these guys!

  • @xsjb74x how can you say this is their peak? what about In Rainbows?! :D

  • @deandave24 my thoughts exactly

  • love this song

  • The best live version of the song ever i think; it's perfect.

  • a great version

    but glastonbury 03 is better

  • Indeed. Glastonbury 2003 holds the best versions of Fake Plastic Tree, Talk Show Host, and some others.

  • Don't say "ever" and hope they come with an even better version instead :)

  • ...and it wears him out

  • I've just had the best week. I went to see them in Victoria park London then a couple days later, flew out to Amsterdam to see them again. Oh my word what a gig! Going back to work tomorrow. F**K i wish i was a rock and roll star. Better still I wish I was in Radiohead, who have got to be one of the all time greatest bands. They blow Oasis and Blur out of the water, who as we all remember were the "big" bands at the time.

  • best radiohead song bar none

  • Thom´s gesture in time 1:03 was damn hooot! :-)

  • oooh me pone los pelos d punta!!!!

    sta con maadre

  • can download the hole set off classic bootlegs type in on google "classic bootlegs radiohead glastonbury" and it the first hit. just click tracks u want and u get them for free it brilliant

  • june 6th. why are u going?

  • the same mate, cant wait only got into them in the last year so im really looking forward to it

  • Jonny is the greatest

  • 1 of the greatest songs ever done

  • there's actually no guitar solo in this song...

i love this song...an oldie, but a goody.

  • theres not sposed to be a solo in this song, and i somehow doubt johnny intended it to be. most likely its actually a fill

  • yeah but it still rocks. radiohead are about atmospheres not van halen.

  • Oh please, kindly upload a video of YOU playing as good as Jonny...

I'd love to laugh, I mean, listen.

  • Rrambler said it. Fake Plastic Trees does not have a guitar solo. It's a fill. And it was appropriate. Amazing song. Amazing band.

  • what are you on about that sounds amazing

  • this song is 1 of my favorites by raidio head :P

  • crumbles and burns oes rite thru me :P

  • best ending i've ever seen to this song!

  • But gravity always wins...I fukcing love that line so much

And "I could blow through the ceiling" its just joy to listen to :)

  • u`r right! gravity always wins!

    but my favorite part is:

if i could be who you wanted!if i could be who you wanted! all the time.....all the time!

    what a fake plastic sentence!

    i fucking luv that song!

  • radiohead-head dot tk... links

  • cool

  • i was at this gig

    it was brill.

  • this song is a great fuking stuff, a marvelous sound... u guys just do not understand the real mean of that music, go listem "dj tiesco" and the happy lil dance music for empty horny girls like u all.

  • Like you're the only person who understands the meaning and depth of radiohead's music - they do have more fans than just you, ya tit.

...and yes it is fantastic stuff :)

  • rahcelpenny are you tripping?

  • I also hate Canary Wharf - nice sentiment lads and took me far to long to realise what a wa*k hole it really is

  • thom yorke!!

  • ace i was there n wen them fireworks went of it gave me goosebumps! glastonbury is the biggest n best festival in the world. ive bin 8 times the first was 93' seen radiohead there in 97' n 2003' love em 2 bits x

  • I think it's Jonny anyway! Around 0:53-1:15

  • Thanks so much; I've had this on cassette tape since 97 and I've never seen the video for it!! Jonny's gentle guitar is amazing -- sounds like little rainbow-colored marbles rolling along a stream

  • Haha, very surreal description of Jonny's playing! Nicely done - like it, like it.

  • yeah. thoms guitar sounds like shit though

  • you must remember that. it had been raining non stop. and the wind had been blowing mud and sand into all there equipment. in my opnion radioheads finest performance

  • "little rainbow-colored marbles rolling along a stream"... What a beautiful description. :)

  • this song, along with snowden by doves, are the best songs ever written

  • this is a great performance of a great song.

  • this song has some amazing teen memories for me .. almost brings tears to my eyes

  • truly amazing.

  • much better than the studio version

  • Easily a candidate, most certainly.

  • One of, for deffo

  • Astonishing.

  • Fake Plastic Trees always produces a 5 star performance from Radiohead
