  • I heard the Weatherfords back in the late 1960's at Soul's Harbor, in Minneapolis. What a great group! At that time, they had a bass that could have doubled for Richard Nixon.

  • Love the song and the message Rubegray. Please keep posting more....

  • I am sorry that you have taken my comments the wrong way. If I had been misinformed about something, I would appreciate someone setting the record straight. I appreciate the fact that you have posted these recordings and if I have upset you, I apologize.

  • I put these songs on YouTube for the message and blessing from the singing and words -- not for a verbal discourse about who is right or wrong. I'm sorry that this was the only comments that have been received even though many people have listened to the videos. I would almost rather remove them than have negative comments offered regarding whether I indicated who was singing 50 years ago. My apologies for any inaccuracies.

  • Love the song! Love the group! Love to hear Lily Fern sing, just no one can sing tenor like her. Problem is this is not Lily Fern singing tenor. This was recorded during the time she took off when they adopted Steve and Susan. This is a man by the name of James Hopkins from Lindale, Georgia. He was known to Weatherford fans as "Hoppy". There are at least two others that you have posted that have James on them. When James left the group he was replaced by Bobby Clark.

  • @JB2043 Well that seems strange to me since I bought the album directly from them at their concert in Butler, PA at the Church of God, and Lily Fern and Earl were both there and singing. I was told by them that the group there that night was on all of the album's songs. My ear tells me that isn't a man's voice singing high tenor, and the style is Lily Fern's too.

  • @RUBEGRAY

Sorry Rubegray. JB2043 is right. Not doubting what you were told at the time, but this is not Lily Fern. Doesn't even sound like her to me.
