the symbol of imagination, creativity, creation is the little girl (kids are always more likely to produce art than grown ups) and the pencil with a face is actually the power to express, to give shape to the images in your head. the lonely world is perhaps the world inside her head.

Pencil Face was formed from Sculpey clay which was baked and inlayed into the giant pencil form, then glass eyes were set in place. He was sanded and airbrushed to match the original yellowy-orange of the pencil. His darling eyes could be puppeteered from above by removing his eraser
