are they good quality and do they sound good

when u put it full blast and with no E,Q?

Yes they are actually good quality speakers. you be surprised with how clear and loud is the sound. Why don't you test it out at your local technology shop? Note that this is an older version, there is now Logitech Pure-Fi 2 out, which i think may be a better version.

Bass is good but when you pump it really loud it starts crackling

I believe so. You just use the white dock that came with the ipod and put it in the system's docking base.

i wasnt to impressed with these i actually found the mm 50s to go louder but these have more upper bass. Treble at times sounded tiny and indistinct but most people will be happy.

I am using the Australian adapter to plug and charge the ipod. In terms of fitting the ipod into the sound system, I have chosen not to use the 30gb "ipod docking" that came with the system, as it cannot fit my ipod case (ie.Belkin). It is a 30gb ipod video, not classic.

This speaker is an upgrade of the mm50. From the reviews i read, it said that the speaker is much clearer and louder with few distortions than the mm50. Hope this helps, cheers.
