  • i cant belive how good the whole band is. there will be no one else like animals as leaders.

fucking amazing, they are defenedly from another planet

  • ONE MORE SONGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

  • I saw them at three concerts here in Florida ( Tampa and twice in Orlando) and I could say is that there will never be another Hendrix but tosin and Animals as Leaders are on there way to something very awesome its amazing to hear them play live This is truly poor talent

  • modern day jimi hendrix...

  • @FallenReaper6 i hate when people say that, thats like me calling every white guitarist a modern day Eddie Van Halen......dumb.

  • One good thing about these guys (other than the many many obvious and not so obvious good things) is that whenever someone posts a video taken from a camcorder - with them being an instrumental band - the audience doesn't make much sound to disrupt the audio. i.e. singing the wrong words 3 semi-tones off-key etc.

If the audience is anything like me they're either too busy trying not to cry, or preoccupied trying to prevent their head from exploding from awesome.

  • A Question For People w/ musical Taste AAL or Pantera?

  • My Ex just dissed these guys... I feel so much regret right now..

  • So, is the other guy also a guitarist? I can't really tell from the video, it looks like he could be playing a 12 string bass or something... anybody know?

  • @Krisiun111 from their facebook page:

    Members

Tosin Abasi:7 and 8 String Guitars, criticism..

Javier Reyes: 7 and 8 String Guitars, pupusas...

    Navene Koperweis : Drums, swympole..

  • @Krisiun111 2 guitars no bass if they had someone playing a 6 string bass it wud be way too epic and time wud probably just stop

  • @Krisiun111 its another 8 string, Tosin plays bass in the studio.

  • I dare you to find a riff that is harder to pull off as a band than the one at 1:45. I've tried it with a drummer, and it was like a joke. Unbelieve.

  • @NoaOno Once you understand how the rhythm works it's not too hard to follow. It's 4/4 with hi-hats hitting 8th notes, the kick hits 5 beats that are also on 8th notes, but only every other set of 5 kick beats fall on either a down stroke or an upstroke, and every other set actually starts on the 16th sandwiched between the 8th so it totally feels off beat half the time. The really hard part is getting that beat, and knowing when the snare is supposed to happen lol.

  • @iviaverick52 I know. As it's played really fast, it seems impossible. I have rehearsed this song with my friend who is a drummer, and he nails it I just don't FUCKING UNDERSTAND! If it was on beat then up beat it would be okay but the goes between those which are a fourth 8ths SiktH something wrong makes it not even musical anymore.

  • @NoaOno "In theory" it's still musical because it follows a mathematical pattern, but it just messes with your ears when you actually hear it haha.

  • this song has so much feeling in it. it gives me the chills every time i listen to it. i cant emagine how great it sounds in person live. such a good song

  • Tosin definitely has his own original and unparalleled take on music.

  • I need to grab my guitar and practice man....

  • Their drummer is fucking awesome.

  • Do u have to be 18 to see them live?

  • @happyman3196 lol.....wut?

  • Abasi is the fucking man. Coming over to finland this fall, and I simply cannot wait to see the most amazing guitarist in the world live.

  • pause at 3:21 . I think he just unleashed a wave of awesomness...

  • this vid shows how fast hes sweeping lol

  • so basically the 1 person that disliked this must not have ears and must be retarded

  • sooo badass

  • The fact that they can take such an ungodly-technical song and play it live to the point where it's almost as perfect as the studio version shows that there's more than just a guy with some good editing skills going on here. This is talent.

  • @Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeshy well done on the drummer for duplicating the programmed drums of the album too.

  • I cant tell any difference from the music video to this Live :D:D

  • @davidpeder2 well id hope you could cos they changed a lot of it up...

  • @neddomac Was just kiddin -.-

  • Claudio Sanchez should sing for this band...hahaha

  • @dutchfumaster not if im in front of you

  • around 3:02 they played so hard they almost broke into another dimension that's why he didn't play anymore they had to 'ease up'

  • What was he talking about smoking? Cause i can't hear it properly ;p

  • I feel so bad for Tosin in this video, at around 3:02, that was supposed to be his little moment where he plays the CAFO tapping lick alone but he missed his cue, and you can see him looking so disappointed when he glances over at Navene.... He played this song so brilliantly though, Tosin is a fantastic musician.

  • @LunarLionheart Hmm you might be right, but very often live he just played the chords UNTIL the drums kick back in, then does the tapping. But you're right it did look like he was like "oh...." but often he doesnt start tapping just then anyway (unlike the recording) :)

  • @3:21 "this is easy. i'm so beast."

  • And people talk about steve vai being good, this guy is unparalleled. Same as the rest of the band, the drummer is something else too, the other guitarist is pretty damn awesome for just being able to do any of this full stop

  • Did they play one more song?!

  • you can see the youngness in his playing. he's not emotional with it yet. when he gets there the music will be better than this epic bottle of 8string shredding sauce that just keeps pouring over the crowd.

  • He's one of those musicians that make your jaw drop when you watch them play.

  • @dutchfumaster Hey man, you can hear Tosin almost perfectly, it's great quality.

  • I supposed that god was black...but I never imagine that he' would use 8 strings

  • a few mistakes at the beginning of the solo, but still pretty close to the album.

  • 0:22 CAFO? lol

  • More people need to listen to this song deeply.

It's unfortunate that something such as CAFO has become legal and allowed. it's pretty disgraceful, and anyone who think it's okay is just neglecting to see the fact that horrendous abuse occurs.

I love Animals As Leaders, and this is my favourite song. Not only does it speak to me on a musical level, but on such a higher level as well. it's good to see someone like this is trying to get the word out. with or without lyrics!

  • One more song!

  • 6:27 man i wanted to see that drum fill so baddd, great vid tho, seein these guys the 6th XD

  • Are they 3 or 4 live?Im just curious bcuz I see only 3 ppl

  • Are they 3 of 4 live?Im just curious bcuz I see only 3 ppl...?

  • Its SUCKS loool

  • Man.. I love how an instrumental can have purpose and reason behind it. Tosin, you are a god. Becuase of you, the older generation of musicians I associate with no longer think of me as the typical stupid kid with lil wayne and other popular music tastes but realize I'm into some serious musicianship. You fucking rock dude, hard. LOVE FROM EARTH.

  • dammit!

  • the best well dressed man of metal himself.

  • nice economy picking haha

  • i dont think tosin was to happy with that feedback, way to do urfucking job sound guys D:

  • Love these Cats!

  • I have a dream .......that in the future....the top artists on the radio will go a little something like this: 1.AAL 2.Cynic 3.Meshuggah 4.Devin Townsend 5.Periphery 6.BTBAM 7.Scale the Summit 8. Chimp Spanner 9.Monuments 10.Textures Then again.....only in a surreal, pure, dreamscape......unless ;)
  • @Electrofarce

    pandora ftw

  • isnt it ironic as fuck that the best rapper is white and the best metal guitarist is black

  • @poratosk8r2 No not really music is universal and should not be dictated by the color of skin

  • Tosin looks mad about that sustain on his guitar...leave it to Ibanez.

  • 3:21 What a fucking monster. He doesnt even look at the fretboard, his eyes just scream "Yeah thats right, im the clit commander."

  • Right. I just tried covering this song on the bass. WTF is up with the timing?! It feels like its 4-4 for part of a bar, then they bump it back one beat so you're off...and they keep switching it. Man, amazing song but ridiculous to play.

  • He needs to be ampd to a Mesa! this does not do Justice.

  • tosin fucking nailed this

  • damnnnn

i was hopin you wouldve got that crazy drum fill at 6:28 ish

    great vid tho

  • Why have i never head of these guys up until like 3 days ago... they're fucking amazing. I'm loving this type of music more and more day by day and it all started with Meshuggah.

  • @Slipknotrulez666 You only heard of this 3 days ago because you listen to pussy ass music like slipknot.

  • @Slipknotrulez666 Let me guess... you listen to Slipknot...

  • @Slipknotrulez666

I learned about it the same time and listened to them none stop since then..

  • Why have i never head of these guys up until like 3 days ago... they're fucking amazing. Im loving this type of music more and more day by day and it all started with Meshuggah.

  • Thanks for posting this, i was starting to believe it was not real.

  • did they play one more song?

  • @mikxer nah i got all of them

  • @dutchfumaster whats wrong with the quality...you can hear his guitar perfectly lol

  • @dutchfumaster Not too bad for a flipcam...

  • is that conjecture, or is there a live dvd coming out?

  • big big influence, Tosin Abasi is one of those artists that can't be replicated.

  • so true,

probably the best musician to come out in 10 years

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA Him and Misha are just fucking amazing...

  • @skater15153 no shit, i hope they do a side project in between periphery and AAL stuff. it would be godly.

a lot of guitarists can sweep fast as fuck but you have to view AAL as a group that creates ambience with the sweeps and fast picking. i've had this cd playing in the background all day and i have yet to get bored of it.

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA whos was the best musican before him?

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA I think this music is 20+ years ahead of it's time and is the biggest and baddest battleship in the Fleet of Prog Metal at the moment.

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA his not the best musician in the last ten years...

  • @ibanez33150 it's all a matter of personal preference. and he only said probably.

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA and one of the best dressed.. :D

  • @AL3X1SAN1NJA so so so very true if i say so myself

  • i agree amazing guy
