Magnum Ammo doesn't really help when you get into matches where your shots just don't connect. I just switch to sniper with the spotter scope and hide behind a rock and toss motion sensors at that point.

thumbs up man. shotgun is really frustrating to use, its so inconsistent. you need to headshot for it to have a 1hit kill. so for all the noobs that complains about it give the shotgun a break and just play the game, just because you get killed with it you whine "ow how OP it is" you haven't even realize how much effort they put just to kill you with it. if you want something to complain about, complain about LMG, they're powerful, lots of ammo, you can snipe with it, it also dominates in cqc.

It's much worse in black ops for me (PC) but it was pretty bad in Bad Company 2 for a while. I think they fixed it up a bit...still don't get kills that I should have. You know, when I shoot a sniper with a shotgun point blank and he kills me with a sniper rifle? You know a long range weapon beating a short range weapon just makes TOTAL sense. BC2 rawwwks.

They patched all the weapons now so the shotgun is badass now, good range for buckshots and they made the slugs less overpowered.

I don't know what you're complaining about, 90% of the time you got your kill, the enemy would have the same chances against you. Buckshot range is just as shitty as in MW2, but at least you have Slugs as an option. And on a side note I saw MANY misses and/or problems with lag and input delay. I could point them out if you wanted.

I use the M870 on the PS3 and started to get pissed and mad the times i need to take a second shot. I try and aim for a split second and shoot. The hit detection is slightly better and now I can dome people farther then usual.

Shotgun is only effective if you get them in the upper chest and head. And remember to aim a bit higher than normal because gravity still takes place even at really close range. What I do is have the bottom of the "ring" touch about the pecs to collarbone area and that's really effective. If you aim for the waist you're only going to hit the leg area. And as for range, shotgun is for close range like in buildings and around corners so get way closer. If you want range stick with ARs.

Accuracy with the shotty sux when your running. you gotta take it a little slower and shoot em in the face. I feel your pain but the 870 is a 1 shot beast. 12 round Saiga is a wall of lead. iminurtube is dead on there. With patience and practice you will be making a new video about how the shotty rocks. And even after the shotgun nerf I still rape squads with it so don't believe the hype and keep your knife at the ready.

@fslavko in the process of uploading a new video of me running around with the 870 shotgun again, but this time with Magnum ammo. it makes a huge difference. also, I think my play style works for the most part (look up YouStopHacking's stats ). denkirson's stats has buckshot spread at 3.0 degrees whether moving or not, so even if I slow down to try to improve aim, I still have to deal with the random spread direction and the huge circle reticle.

@udgnim You could eliminate the huge vag circle by using 12 guage slugs and combine it with the magnum ammo and use it only in the assault class, that way, you can resuply when needed. It improves accuacry so much that all the bullets that would usually miss with the circle actually hit the target because there are crosshairs. Its freakin awesome.

you seem to be doing just fine. winning over half of the engagements. stop moving around so damn much. this looks like a clip from quake or something. wrong type of game. you do this thing where you move right before you shoot, and with the server lag, not matching up with client, its making you miss. its not supposed to be a one man army gun anyways. play with some strategy, use cover, aim your shots dont twitch shoot and you'll do fine

@CVarden thats because the shotgun sprays bullets, and out of the many bullets it sends for one shot, only a few actually end up hitting the target. Make sure to press L1 each time you shoot, that way all of the bullets end up in their ass.

@Richnaut I mentioned using shotgun slugs upgrade, which is basically an oversized bullet. One hit of those slugs at close range is an instant kill even if you hit their toe in this game.
