same here, had a spur track connecting to the New Haven mainline, the tracks led to an old weapons factory, the tracks went up soon after the plant closed
same thing's kind of happening here in Martinsville. We have an old railroad station that's closed, and several furniture and chothing factories closed.
Very similar thing happened here outside Portland. GM had a parts distribution plant served by the Portland & Western and in '07, they closed it down. Rails were ripped up in late '08 and the crossing was torn out just a month or so ago.
@TrainHistorian Kind of sort of. I got into watching train videos here on YT for awhile. Still do some. I have a couple of other railfan videos posted. Been wanting to get out and get some more videos, but haven't had a chance. Seems like every time I catch a train I don't have my camera with me.
The CN is notorious for that kinda thing. Ever since they bought the Illinois Central many of those spur lines have closed also.

What song were you listening to?

@Jemalacane Sounds like I was listening to Hillsong. Can't remember the name of the song.
This abandoned line has now been made into a nice walking/bike path.

@727JeffN Yeah, I'm pretty sure I used to like that song.
