  • My mother had surprised me with one today and I'm so excited! You've inspired me so much Emilie ^.^

  • Cinched down*

  • What that matter with you guys she isn't even pinched down. Not all corset are tight lacing.

  • Is this Emilie´s channel? ^^

  • Don't mean to hate, but breathing is one of the most important things when you're tight lacing... are these videos for information purposes or entertainment purposes? I'm asking because if you're trying to help, you need to do some deeper research into the Victorian style. Even with steam punk, anachronism is vital.

HOWEVER! ribbon around the waist? ingenious idea... ~likes on the principle of ingenuity~

  • @njoinvisablegirl Breathing is unimportant was just sarcasm.

  • women did wear corsets lace from the front but it was working-class women that did. they didnt have servents to lace them from behind so it was easyer for them to wear a front laced corset......

  • Awsome.

Although I must point out to anyone watching this, you're actually not supposed to lace a corset in the front or tie it in the front. In the time that corsets were popular, lacing or tying in the front meant you were a prositute.

  • since breathing is unimportant, is it good to pass out?

  • dare you to sneeze in it

  • . . .Rippon around the waist when lacing. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT.

  • Thats How I Laced My Corset :D But It Laces At The Back So It Was Rather Difficult :L

  • Dear Emilie Autumn

Stop seducing me with all of your awesome.

    Thank you.

  • how can this be the wrong way, when she looks so right!? corsets are meant to make you look good right? and she looks yummm

  • Breathing is unimportant.

  • Pelos rojos k

  • @anyaanorin I know she doesn't teachnically lace it properly, but the phrase to remember her is "WAYWARD victorian girl". She's not fake. Just...different. :)

  • @anyaanorin There is nothing fake here. ^____^ She's different, as sanatherandom stated. Any way, she's so tiny that if she tightened it completely, she'd be a tooth pick O_O

  • @RaNdOmNeSs247365 i'm wondering the same thing :/

  • @only4fuzzy1 @RaNdOmNeSs247365 E-bay or Corset Story has some good ones. Or if you want to do it to true EA fashion make one :)

  • @RavenEvanescence ya, looking up some of the tutorials on here about how to make them i definitely want to make my own.

  • @only4fuzzy1 good luck :)

  • idc if she does it properly or not, emilie corsets beautifully =]

  • She don't do this properly....

  • ...shes my hero!!!!!!!

  • @cheesequest100 hundreds on ebay ;)

  • @cheesequest100 Try corsets uk or Fairy Goth Mother. :)

  • Korsetts sind ein Instrument der Unterdrückung. Am besten ist es ihnen in der Vergangenheit verlassen.

  • @LadyCattack Actually, that is untrue. If you have it laced properly it shouldn't make breathing difficult. It should just feel like a nice, firm hug =)

  • nice corset try putting it on the rite way .....you look great by the way

  • Love corsets *o*

  • No ma lascialo un po' più aperto...il corsetto non si usa così

  • مقزز

  • I know this sounds stupid, but shit, I`m too skinny for corsets >:z

  • I want a corset.

    Now.

  • The best of the best ^^

  • Sigh, I adore my corset but I hardly wear it that much anymore. I should start wearing it to work

  • Lmfao! "Breathing is unimportant"

  • Does anyone know where I can get a corset like that?

  • @TheNeko1231 etsy(dot)com has millions of corsets

  • @TheNeko1231 i got mine for about $20 on ebay, and its actually REALLY good quality

  • @birthControlxlipglos thankyou i will be sure to check it out

  • lol at breathing is unimportant

  • Wait, that shirt says 'DETHKLOK'!? O_O *-*

  • @LuminaGazZiim She played the violin parts of the Metalocalypse episode called Dethharmonic. Also, that episode opened with Nathan declaring an island "The Isle of Wayward Kitties"

  • @boomstick900 edit, the ep is actually called "Fat kid at the Dethharmonic"

  • thats a cool corset... where did u get it

  • Is she lacing it backwards..?

  • * sigh. whenever i see Emilie my heart stops whilst my mind implodes and i forget the world and everything in it and just wonder why i am still breathing... i think i need her more then air and i haven't even met her... something is not quite right in this picture.... but i have yet to figure out what ♥

  • @ZOMbieeSlyr whats really sad is how much shes been thru, yet she gives everything to her fans at every show

  • When I lace up my corset, all I can think about is The Corset Scene is Kuroshitsuji.

It scarred me for life. XD

  • @shadowoftheday45 What is that???

  • I read a story once, the woman asked if they could loosen the corset a bit saying she couldn't breathe. I instantly thought of this. 'Breathing is unimportant.'

  • Of course in this video she is lacing it more for a fashion piece, but watch her live videos from her tour. some of those girls (especially Veronica), have REAL waist reduction.

And back in the day everyone wore corsets, there were maternity , athletic (they stretched more), children's (get them while they're young), and men's even! (look up mr. pearl. from 35 inches to 18 inches)

  • I want a corset.

  • The corsets were invented originally for medical reasons, it helped womens posture to stay straight but soon it was used to modify the figures.... Gosh I want a corset 8)

  • fuuuck i want THAT corset! i've trawled all the places i know and cant find anything at all like it!

  • @emiliediabolica I know! I want all her clothes, unfortunately, she makes most of them so they're all one of a kind.

  • @emiliediabolica Try ebay. There are a ton of corsets in all colors in that same design. :) I get most of my clothes off the internet. be sure to look at sizes and how each area fits though. It's much harder to return things you buy off the internet.

  • @theMewMewKitty

O_o i've trawled ebay... most of the corsets there are dodgy lingerie ones.. never seen one like this. perhaps i'm not using the right search terms or something. :\

  • It´s a beautiful top... A beautiful figure and a beautiful hair color and a beautiful corset xD

  • Ooooh...I am so gettinga corset.

  • Wasn't she wearing a ruff in Rule No.1?

  • the doctors from the asylum are the ones who disliked this video.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, that's why when lacing a corset you'll want it double tied, or use two laces and have them tie in the middle, it's the best and not to mention most comfortable way to do it.

  • where do they sell corsets? i want to buy one!

  • Corsets are THE MOST amazing thing invented by man!!!!! Not only does your figure look perfect but it also helps you maintain you weight or even lose a few pounds!!!!! It's TRUE!!!! The only thing is, my doctor warns that you could get muscular distrophy by wearing it too often.

  • @thegothicdolly333 you can also mess your intestanes up by pushing them down and back as well so never over wear your armor hehe

  • @RipVanXHans yes but it's much much safer then bearing a child. :)

  • i can tell by own experience that is really hard to breathe with those corsets, i used one of those with my Gothic Lolita costume, and in the end u really don't give a sh/t about breathing.

  • At the end it's like *awkward silence*

  • where do u get corsets like that and with a good to cheap price range??

  • @PinkKissedLips its emilies style to do things incorrectly.

note the word 'wayward'. as in following no clear principle or law, opposite to what is desired or expected.

its not a tutorial to being a victorian girl but a wayward victorian.

  • breathing is unimportant... i guess i better stop

  • I love her but she is lacing her corset in this video the way you would if you are pregnant. Up to bottom for preggers; bottom to up for not preggers.

  • @QueenOfWierd Serious question. How would the way you lace a corset help? I mean whats the difference? Im really curious.

  • @emptybliss2 - No real difference, I used to lace mine bottom to top but that's only cos my boobs get in the way if I do it the other way around! I have friends who do it both ways :)

  • @QueenOfWierd why would a pregnant lady wear a corset? 0_0

  • @QueenOfWierd well actually, wearing a corset while your pregnant would be quite difficult, not many people do. the proper way to lace a corset is to do it how you think is best and to the tightest you can get it.

  • she is so wonderful *-*

  • i love emilie!!

  • My dears, all of you saying that she is lacing wrong and such, she chooses to lace it this way because she is lacing for fashion, not for real waist reduction, Emilie is tiny and only cinches in minute amounts with her corsets

  • @WelcomeToTheFamily Yeah, and I hear it's nearly impossible to sing in a properly laced corset.

  • @LadyCattack Nah, lots of opera singers find it easier to sing in a properly laced corset

i think it read it on Staylace

  • what does her shirt say?

  • @Quiz1master5 It says Dethklok :)

  • nomnomnom

  • @olibialovesmuse Why? It looks awesome.

  • @AnimeKramkalas1996 Personally I think she's a bit of an idiot.

  • @olibialovesmuse Why? :/

  • someone needs this rules? O.o

  • she hasn't laced it properly...! ur meant to pull from the middle!

  • @ScaryMissKippy ahaha i don't think she cares

  • @ScaryMissKippy who cares? she can lace her corset however she wants, same for everyone -_-

  • @thecoolestfreak it's actually really bad for your body if you don't lace it right

  • Theres an old photo shoot and a couple of pictures of her with that corset on in a club and on both occasions it was laced up the front...just saying.

  • i'm not a fan of hers...but for someone who advocates victorian anything does look a tad sluty, no? victorian era was about covering up and being modest. :p

  • @bloodyrazorlips she's the queen of irony and sarcasm :P she's proving a point by doing what she does

  • What are you? Trimy fple Jointed? I can barely touch fingers when I stretch my tricep

  • true but it's one way to do so. I don't think she can lace it behind her back but if she could it would be amazing

  • I'm pretty sure that she is just lacing it in the front to show. I've never seen it laced up in the front at all either on her or on others. It's probably to show how to lace and how to lace it tightly

  • oh how i wish i had a corset <3

  • It's not "tightly lacing", but I still love her rulesxD

  • i sure am glad i'm a guy, and don't even have to worry about wearing these torture devices. lol

  • some guys do wear corsets :P

  • thanks for that... as if I didn't hate mankind enough already. :(

  • Sure, I would lace my corset tightly.... if i could afford one in the first place. The real, steel-boned high-quality corsets are about $150 at their cheapest and most boring design.

  • i got mine in the uk for around 40 pound.... around 75 dollers from corsets-uk

  • Not true! I found a girl on Etsy who sells them for under $100. and she handmakes them herself too.

  • Whoa! Can I have a link?

  • Oh, I see :L Duh moment.

  • What's the trick with the red band? Couldn't quite catch it.

  • she loosely tied a bit of red lace around it just to keep it in place while she laced

  • so the tieing thing great tip...but idk i thought corsets were sposed to be laced to the middle.. that way when u sinch the laces tighter they tighten the most in the middle and thus more curve... but then again i might be thinking with steel not plastic boneing wich ive ahd bad experiences with.. if its cut to low for ur frame the boneing will warp, puff out or curl.. yeah not flattering, but idk mine might have jsut been cheap

  • that´s cool...

the trick with the red band... that´s clever... i will do that... it makes everything much easier...

  • what does the shirt say?

  • I saw her in concert last night.

Best night of my life by far.

  • I prefer steel-boned over cheap plastic. It gives you more of a figure and actually looks authentic.

  • Emilie Autumn.... Sexiest woman ever. XD

  • @Sesshomaruslover001 You mean "ALIVE"...Sexiest Woman ALIVE :3

  • anyone know where to get good corsets that lace up at the front like emillie's but for a pretty cheap price? :)

  • Yeah, Camden in London, if you live there Lol. I got a AWESOME Gothic Lolita dress with a front lace up corset for £40 and a corset for only £20! No Joke!

  • What does her shirt say?

  • @neonbananaglowindark

I for one think it says "BITE ME"

but I could be wrong. ^^

  • From the look of it, it says Oft Me

But I'm not even sure that makes sense

  • her shirt says dethklok.

Its a animated heavy metal band, the show is called Metalocalypse; and Brendon Small is one of the guitarists/music writer. She had an appearence for a song(for the violin)on the show once. Just look it up to find out more if you wish ;D

  • Does anyone know where you can get corsets like that in england?

  • That's lacing method, while pretty, is not good for tightlacing or for long periods of wear. It's going to sag out in the middle. Not to mention that it won't ever fully close. Alternating X's on top and under (instead of the shoelace method) with pull ties at the waist, is the best and easiest lacing method. Cute outfit though. I especially love your hair. <3

  • you know what my problem is i am a scary cat. i like corsets and i really want one. but i am scared that it would hurt too much and than indeed the breathing issue. can someone advice me in this matter, because like i said i really want one XD

  • You don't HAVE to put it so tight you can't breathe lol. I have a couple and I lace them tight enough so they look tight, but I can breathe. I haven't been hurt by them.

  • What kind of corset you get and what it's made of is an issue. Really good corsets, typically, should pull in your waist by about 2". Corsets SHOULD NOT HURT. When wearing one, you have to keep in mind how much your moving. You may have to walk a little slower then normal, you won't be able to bend at the waist, and you will want to keep good posture. These should help with the breathing issue. Start by wearing one for short periods of time (10min), working your way to longer periods of time.

  • yea u dunt have to have it too tight. i have a corset (only one right now. cuz my dad wuld FLIP OUT if he saw me in one XD) and it duznt make me have a breathing issue. juss put it on like emilie duz u wunt havea problem. :3

  • Thnx for the advice :D

i really thought they would hurt and that kinda stuff, but i quess it isnt that way so im gonna buy one this week :D

  • Nowadays corsets don't hurt that much, or at least, xcertainly not as much as Elizabeth in Pirates of the Carribean made it out to be.

They will feel a bit awkward and uncofortable at first, as they DO tighten everything when they bring it in, but it doesn't hurt that much. Maybe I'm just very tolerant of pain. The rule I was taught though, is that is a modern corset hurts alot, it either isn't laced properly or is poorly made.

  • i seen a corset before (im a guy lol) , it looks like those kelvar(bullect proof vest) the soliders wear in the iraq/afghanistan

  • Is it just me or is anyone else being irked by the improper lacing. It would never fully close with that lacing pattern.

  • I do love my corset. I've a black one.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe im wrong but i thought that to properly lace your corset the bow had to be in the middle? Both of mine came laced like that, not with the bow on the bottom.

  • you're absolutely right, but when it's about looking good, other options are available

(besides what could be worse than not breathing... I wouldn't say wrong lacing would be that)

  • "Breathing is unimportant."

    So true, so true...

  • This may have already been said somewhere in the comments, but if you guys are looking for a good corset, look up Timeless Trends. I got mine from them, and I love it to death! Not trying to advertise or anything, just trying to recommend something for those out there who don't know where to start and are looking for suggestions. : 3

  • Thank you so much!

  • Does anyone know a website where you can buy non-sexistic corsets? All I seem to find is plastic corsets :(

  • I got a corset for my Birthday and I totally love it!

  • A CONTINUATION FROM BELOW: they give an outline, but that's it. If you try to make them tight, you will be stabbed mercilessly by the bending plastic. The same goes for the victoria's secret and similar 'corsets' they are for an close outline, not support like a real corset. A good corset will have fairly rigid steel boning(generally medical grade steel is a good option) that will support the back and *bosom.(*only in the case of over bust corsets.) Also, corsets should be measured by waistsize

  • Hi all! I work for a corset maker and I'd like to share a bit about real corsets and wearing them because I've been seeing some scary comments on the subject! ^.^

First: A properly fitting corset should NEVER hurt, not even a little! You will feel constrained, and will have to get used to the lack of movement in the waist area, but that passes in a few minutes for most ppl. Next, the 'corsets' at hot topic and such, are not corsets. They are shirts with thin plastic boning in them.

  • where can you buy corsets like this, cus i have only see the ones at hottopic

  • ebay tends to have beautifully cheap corsets

  • they have some online, but they are VERY expensive.. :(

  • total agreed these things look far to awsome that you need to think about something so unimportant like breathing :)

I just love emlie autmn seen her live 3 times :) (btw I'm serious)

  • yeah i agree breathing isnt important

  • For the reactions from people like you.

  • ...how can she even breath in that thing?? O.o back in the day ppl had fainting rooms for girls that used to put those things on lol..

  • its not laced as tightly as back then.

  • they did it because fainting was "womanly"

  • apparently, corsets are comfortable if you wear them properly

as opposed to trying to make yourself look thin

    and slowly killing yourself

    ;)

  • Those people fainted because they decided to tightened them as much as possible. Tightlacers now are smarter, and when done properly (since EA isnt wearing a proper corset) It is not that hard to breathe in. You just have to change the type of breathing, and dont eat starchy stuff that bloats you
