Oh loving Heavenly Father please let my children's heart be softened and that they will permit me to see my precious little granddaughter again. We miss her so!
lol what's horrible with her dress, not like her boobs are showing, is it the one shoulder that is expose? lol at least she dresses better then some artist.
@pishti68 I am a big advocate of modesty also.... but not everyone believes in that, and we can't force them to. i think she looks beautiful and has the most beautiful voice, and i think we should appreciate that. I also think that we should be grateful she is not wearing a cocktail dress to go with this beautiful song.
@rainonmyface Also appreciate the unadorned elegance of the acappella rendition, devoid of sounding brass and tinkling cymbal which can only detract from this sincere and aesthetic statement of gospel song.
music and interpretation is good. however, you could have worn something more decent given the fact that you're in church and people need to be focused on God and the message delivered instead of judging your strapless dress. sad when decency leaves the church. my point and i'm sticking to it.
Absolutely wonderful! Her voice is like an angel, the song is beautiful, & (I'm so proud to say) the Cornish Male Voice Choir is superb too!! Safi sana, mzuri kushinda yote (Swahili praise). :-)
This rendition of this timeless inspirational is about as good as I'd ever expect to see/ hear. It is indeed food for thirsty souls. I don't understand how the comments were diverted to what the dear lady is wearing.
I like the length of the dress but it is very immodest at the top. Too bad. What ever happened to modest necklines or modesty in general. Perhaps another one of the signs of the times?
that dress is quite modest compared to many. I didn't think it was at all "immodest" at the top. It would be a shame to expect women to dress in a certain way just to please men who can't look past physical female beauty.
You are right that the dress is quite modest compared to others, but that still doesn't make it modest. Really, there is nothing at the top to call modest. I had two neices that were married and had similiar dresses with "necklines" that were well below the shoulders. I was so totally embarrassed when they came walking down the aisle. I know everbody is doing it, but it is still wrong. Please tell me why a lady can't abandon what is in vogue and have some class. It's all about class.
I think that both class and modesty are subjective. I think that she looks classy and beautiful - I agree that there are many woman today that dress in a trashy and unnecessarily provocotive way, but I don't think shes one of them. There are some men that would have a woman covered in a Burka for all her life - where would you draw the line?
i agree with you seriously what did happen to modesty i always dress modest and always use the 4 finger rule she looks pretty but if it was modest i would be happy
Listen! I cannnot help it that I have so much discernment. Sometimes I try my very best to humble, but let me tell you that it surely is a chore! Thank you for your comment!
For "ony551213" and "Aringalad". Hayley and Sissel are both beautiful singers and I love them both. Why compare them, just enjoy each of them for who they are, beautiful women with beautiful voices.
Undoubtly, Sissel has a crystalclear voice and she's very talented, but you may feel it's a voice of an opera singer; there're so many with such voices - see , also, Angela Gheorghiu, or Kiri Te Kanawa.
But Hayley Westenra's voice is out of any canon of vocal music. She just sings for nature - she sings any sort of vocal music with an angelic voice, doubled by an angelic complexion. That make her so special.
Since you say Sissel has an operatic voice, I must as; what kind of songs have you herd her sing? Because, sure, in songs like Mio Babbino Caro and O Sole Mio, then she sings very operatically, but there are a lot of other songs. Try Denti Du Astri, Du Är Den Ende, Vårvindar Friska and some other of her songs in Swedish, Norweigan and Icelandic, and you'll see that she has many other sides. ;D
I like the "other sides " of Sissel, as well as her "operatic voice". And I like the northern Traditional, as well as all Traditional music from all over the world. It's not that one is better then other. All are the best.
It's not that Hayley is better then Sissel, or otherwise. It's a matter of temperament - the way a voice or a music touch someone's heart.
Mine is for Hayley, but I love Sissel's music, especially the Traditional one, too - and, also, love her fans.
The writer of this song Septimus Winner would have be so proud of this rendition I am sure.

@pishti68 It had one strap. Let's call one strap a reasonable compromise and drop the subject...hey, wait, I would like to rephrase that.
