@tag2441020 Mate, this is actually excellent Amateur boxing, it has different rules to the stuff you might see on TV. They get scored points for successful hits. Momentum and power is actually not very useful because its generally quite hard to knock out an equally weighted opponent with head gear and 10oz gloves. Although it does happen, 3, 2minute rounds make it smarter to go for points.

@LochSBMT i doubt you would come up against many your "hieght" mate :) probably middle weight you can also request for your first fight some one of the same size/skill. matching people up is all done by weight because the power of a punch is determined by how much you weigh normally

@LochSBMT Pretty late reply mate, but at 190 you wouldnt get many around your height, which is an advantage for you seeing as at your height your reach would be pretty good as well. If you were to fight, i would say your coach would get you to the under 81kg division which is light heavyweight, hope this helps!

@okaaaiiiden haha he is stupid. Your glove size doesnt conflict with what your in (amatuer or pro) it depends on your size and weight. There are 230 pound amatuer boxers out there, they dont use 10 oz gloves haha.

A lot of the hate on boxing comes from MMA fans that are unwilling, unlike the fighters of MMA, to appreciate other sports and fighting styles for what they are.

I also believe MMA has more of a violent history, and i know for a fact that alot of the "fans" only enjoy it because of the strong violence thats associated.

I still like MMA.

Well, The boxing you watch where the aim is to knock you're opponent out, the boxing I watch is where you get points for hitting you're opponent and the ref keeps track of the score, knock outs are not the priority.

Besides most combat sports like these don't have to be violent to be entertaining, it is the action crowds enjoy.

Yup just as i suspected, Trent is a first class amateur boxer as you can see in this video. He sure knows how to counter punch and knows when to put the pressure on with great movement. Im from NZ and i will be most probably fighting Trent this friday. Good to get a sneek preview of him before i fight him :L

lisnt im an amutuer boxer . in amauter you rarsly see guys get knocked out completely because the ref alwasy stops it before it get bad . you alwasy get a standing 8 count if you take a good flush shot to the head . but i would prfer to get a a good head shot than a body shot because a body shot will fuck you up so dont say shit until youve jumped in thr ring
