I've always been a fan of Johnny Deluxe, and I think they did amazing. I love Sukkerchok as well, but I know one of the singers personally so I think that may have influenced my decision in thinking they should have won ;)
these are all boring, african-american gospel (marie), bubblepop (Sukkerchok), swedish dance (dated)...very bad...arent there professionals that analyse what is popular and whats not. that doesnt win the contest. hera byork sux. its a clone of bloody sweden last yr - i dont get you ppl. sweden got in cos of the jury - thats how bad it was. anyway johnny deluxe and jimmy jorgensen are your best choices. pray to god you put these ppl in your final or we wont see you at the eurovision final.
If you think "Crying Out Your Name" is gospel, then you obviously don't know what gospel is. If you think that "Someday" sounds like "Hero," then you are deaf. If Johnny Deluxe and Jorgensen are your favorites, it makes sense that you don't like the other, poppier songs. Furthermore, if case you haven't noticed, the grand majority of top ten songs from the past 53 contests were pop songs and ballads, only a few were rock tunes; so I think that the analysts did their job quite well.
by negating everything i said you are not making your little speech any stronger or more believable. you must be tone deaf yourself if you cant hear the gospel sound in her song. as fore someday the song has basicaslly the same beats as hero. it imediately reminds you of that drag last yr. same rhythm and textbook lyrics. you practically know what she is ganna sing next.
Let's look at the past 11 contests. Of those, I would say the only winner that had a non-Western feel to it would be Ukraine (2004). All the rest were quite Western in style. I would love to see more diversity, including more songs like "Oro" (SER2008), "Water" (Bul2007), and "Dile que la quiero" (ESP2001) all top 10 songs that used their country's sounds. But these songs don't win, so countries hesitate to send them.
In my opinion, offering counterarguments is a great tool to use in discussion.
and you probably havent noticed the type of ballads they were - incomparable to the meagerness you get to choose from. besides they have to be exceptional to win. and since most countries send pop as the universal genre of course they win - but the moment ppl send something that is different aka a non western feel to it (im not saying deluxe and jorgensen werent alt rock western clones themselves) they win - im talking about the several yrs that passed.
There's a difference between someone singing "soulfully" (an adverb that describes how she is singing, which she is) and someone singing "gospel" (which is its own genre of music). I will not argue that ballads that have done well in the past (from "Molitva" to "Non Ho l'Età") are better than any of these entry, because they are, I agree with you in that.
Selvfølge lyder alle Grand Prix-sange ens, men studsede alligevel over at 'Sukkercock' og personerne bag Katy Perrys 'Hot n Cold' åbenbart har valgt den samme trommesampling.
12. Someday! 10. Lucky Boy! 8. Det' Det' 7. Underneath My Skin 6. Crying Out Your Name 5. Believe Again 4. I Never Fall In Love Again 3. Big Bang Baby 2. Alice In Wonderland 1. Sindssyg All songs are good! I think the danish people will vote for Alice In Wonderland or Believe Again. It´s the kind of music the danish people loves. But go HERA!! :P

I think 'Alice In The Wonderland' is the best song, and could be a hit in the UK charts.
The winning song sounds exactly like Ronan Keating.
Why couldn't Ronan write the Irish entry?

Seriously
You that like "someday" really have a problem it is boring
let us have a more festive songs such as "belive again"
or Danish as "Sindssyg" it's so long ago we had a Danish song in ESC
So I will vote for these 2
hejdavid17 3 years ago
hejdavid17 3 years ago
In my opinion Sukkerchok's song is the best but there are many of the 10 songs I like. So good luck to all participants.
